Today’s prayer
Written prayerHeavenly Father, Jesus has been called the branch. When their enemies cut down the royal house of David: you promised them it would spring forth again. You comforted your people with the promise of deliverance and the promise of the long anticipated messiah. Your kingdom is not of this world and you turn all things to our good. Even in my darkest hour there is hope. Hope in the goodness of my miracle working God who shows mercy and restores what seems lost. Teach me to never let the circumstances I face no matter how direr, dictate my faith in you. Help me see beyond them to the hope that lies within you. You are the hope of Glory, you will comfort and deliver me from all the situations I face if I abide in you. Out of the roots of despair, when all my hope has been cut down, there will come the branch of deliverance. Your word says that you are the vine and I am the branch that has been grafted into you. As I abide in you I will bear much fruit because apart from you I can do nothing. Breathe new life into these old situations and bring healing to my home and family at this Christmas season. Remind me that it is your life, the life of the king of Kings that flows through me and I will give you all the honor and glory. In Jesus name, amen.
