The Danger of Bitterness and Forgetting Your Calling 0:01 The following program is sponsored in part by friends and partners of Jenson Franklin Media Ministries.0:07 Our family is not gonna be known as addiction. Our family is not gonna be known as this dysfunction in Jesus' name. Our family's not gonna be known as divorce. Our family's not gonna be known0:19 as suffering. Our family, our family's gonna be known as Jesus is in their genetics. They go through the same stuff, but they end up right back where they started. Jesus.0:31 Jesus, give me Jesus.0:37 Together, we're inspiring people to live for Jesus. If you're looking for more in life, to live with purpose and peace, to make a difference for your family and those in need around the world, Jesus is the answer,0:49 and our mission is to simply point you to him. You're watching Kingdom Connection with Jetson Franklin.0:58 I'm preaching this morning the part two to what I started last week on how to redeem your family name. You can redeem your1:10 family name. When you think of a family, you think of a name, instantly something is attached to that family name. And what1:22 will be your legacy? The story is told and said in numbers chapter sixteen and we'll we'll get to it in just a moment, but these two1:34 young... We think that it was two young boys, two sons of Korah are noticing an increasing negative, bitter, anger, spirit,1:45 constant complaining, and they're powerless to stop their once spiritual father, once mightily anointed and used of God father, who has now1:57 become resentful and bitter and offended and hurt at Moses and Aaron and at God himself. Their father2:09 was the cousin of Moses and Aaron. He was all the chosen by God tribe of Levi. He and his family to be chosen,2:21 handpicked, cut out, separated from the rest of the congregation, and chosen to be leaders in the tabernacle in the wilderness. The sacred2:33 beauty, every time that the tabernacle moved, he had to pack it up and he was the one that would... Was given the specific different tribes had different2:45 things that they were to do when they would... Were moving through the wilderness, but it was the Korah and his family who had the the items, the2:56 furniture, the holy furniture that was dedic, that was declared by God almighty. These things are so holy that if any unauthorized person even3:08 touches the brazen altar, even touches the the brazen, wash pan, even touches the incense altar, If anyone unauthorized, the only3:20 ones that I trust and authorize to touch these things is Cora and his family. What an honor to be chosen.3:32 One man's offense so erupts that it spreads throughout the whole congregation, and then they charge the tabernacle and Moses and Aaron are there3:44 and you pick up the story. And the scripture said in verse three of number sixteen, and they rose up before Moses with certain3:56 of the children of Israel, two hundred and fifty princes of the assembly, famous in the congregation, men of renown. And they gathered themselves together. Now watch the arrogance. Watch, watch,4:08 they forgot. This is, watch. And they gathered themselves together against Moses, against Aaron. And they said, you take too much upon4:20 you. Seeing that all... Don't you know that all the congregation are holy? You're nothing special. You make me... Look at them. Look at them. Every one of us can do what you do.4:32 The Lord is among them, and it's not about Moses. It's about the fact God chose Moses. He didn't choose himself. God chose him. He was a flawed man, but God chose him. God said,4:44 that's my friend you're talking about in one place in this story. Watch. He said, you lift yourself up above the4:56 congregation of the Lord. Watch Moses. He had the right spirit. The Bible said, he fell on his face, and he spoke unto Korah.5:08 And he says these words in verse nine, is it a small thing? Seemeth it a small thing unto you? Listen, have you forgotten where you came from? Have you forgotten?5:22 Have you forgotten? Listen to what he says, is it a small thing to you that the God of Israel separated you from the congregation to bring you near to himself5:34 to do service of the tabernacle of the Lord? To stand before the congregation to minister unto them? And he brought thee near5:46 to him and all your brethren and all your family, the Levi's. And now, are you so are you so called up that you are seeking the5:58 priesthood? You're wanting to tell God he made a mistake with Aaron and Moses and shouldn't have chosen them and they should have chosen them and they should have chosen them. Chosen them, and they should be just moved6:07 and I should be. I'm tired of being ignored. I'm tired of peep... Do you see the bitterness in that? And and and and and and and I don't know about you,6:19 but it's it's not a small thing to me. What I'm doing right now. It's not a small thing. It's a fearful thing. It's a heavy thing, but it's also a joyful6:30 thing. I mean, there was a time when I wondered would I ever get to even preach. And now I preach to thousands of people, and it's not a small thing now. I have not got used6:42 to it. I love that song. Will you meet with me again? I I can't do it. Will you come one more time, holy spirit? This is not something man takes unto himself.6:55 You cannot recreate this with a with a with a seven year plan. It takes the Holy Ghost. It takes the power to hit that upper room. It7:06 takes fasting and prayer and being a friend of God and pulling yourself away and carrying a burden and it wakes you up in the middle of the night, and it it comes on you, and you see faces, and7:18 and you hear things, and you write things, and it comes from God. It's a big deal when you begin to make it a little thing.7:30 It offends God. I have never preached on this story, but it is no... In my opinion, the worst thing that ever happened in the old testament is7:42 happening right here. And Moses, verse twelve, sent for Dathan and Abiram this... And listen listen to their listen to their7:53 spirit. And they said, listen to the pride. Listen to the arrogance toward spiritual. Really important.8:06 God has chosen these people. We we... We're not coming up to you. We're not. We won't come. All of us8:17 need, including this preacher, to remember that that we don't... God does not... He's not interested in8:29 our rebellious attitude. Amen. And whom the Lord loves, if you don't straighten it out, the Lord will whip you. Whom the Lord loveth, he whipeth.8:43 That's a Bible verse. Turn to somebody and say, you might need a good whipping.8:54 Listen to what he said. The sons of Korah spoke and they said they said, you need to understand. In verse9:06 thirteen, is it a small thing that you have brought us out of the land flowing with milk and honey? You brought us out of Egypt and they're calling the world9:18 milk and honey. To kill us in the wilderness so you could make yourself a prince over us. Wow. It's all about you. You're just a9:30 prince, Moses, aren't you? You got us out here suffering in the wilderness. We were in the land. This is this is how you know you're hanging out with the wrong people. When all they do is criticize the9:42 church and they call the world the land flowing with milk and honey, they call the party life flowing with milk and honey, they call rebellion flowing with milk and honey, they say the world has got what the9:54 church doesn't have. Let me tell you something. The world does not have a land flowing with milk and honey. It'll destroy you. It'll kill you. It'll wipe you out. It'll addict you. This is10:06 the land. The promised land is the kingdom is the church. And I just wanna read the simple scripture.10:18 It's so remarkable. Separate yourselves. Separate yourselves. And he gathered the congregation at the door. Verse twenty one,10:30 separate yourselves from the congregation that I may consume them in a moment. And Moses rose up and he spoke to the congregation and he said, depart I pray you from the tents of these wicked10:42 men. Touch nothing, lest you be consumed in their sin. It says in the next verse toward the end, the door of the tents, their wives, their sons, their little children, all their sons,10:54 all the Abiram sons, all the other guys sons, all of them were in the group that's about to get consumed, but not the sons of Korah. And11:06 it came to pass, verse thirty one, when he had ended all these speaking words, the ground clave asunder that was under them. The earth opened her mouth and swallowed them up, their houses and all11:18 that pertain to the men of Korah and all their goods. They and all that pertain to them went down alive in the pit and the earth closed11:29 upon them and they perished from among the congregation. And then, verse thirty five, and there went out a fire from the Lord, and he said, all of you who11:41 joined the rebellion, two hundred and fifty of you famous folks, who forgot where your fame and your money and your prestige and your influence came from. You were nothing when I found you. And I put Moses11:53 over you and you prospered, but now you think you're big shots. He said, I got a little present for you. And the Bible said, fire shot out of that pit and just licked them up and pulledThe Sons of Korah Redeem Their Family Name 12:05 them in and all of their families were ruined. Ten chapters later, he wants you to know this is the same story because he says, this is12:17 that Dathan. That a... I don't want you to be confused about any other ones in the Bible. This is the same story. But then he says this, look at that12:29 eleventh verse. All of them got devoured, all of them got jacked up, all of them hit by judgment and died not withstanding of sons of12:40 Korah. See, if you read this chapter forty two, it says up at the top... This is the book of the Exodus concerning Israel, Psalms forty two,12:52 an intense longing, the chief musician, Mesh... Meshkel, was one of the great great grandsons of Korah. The sons of Korah. Look13:04 what they write. As the deer panneth for the water, so my soul longeth after thee. You know, we sing that13:16 song. Now you know the story behind the story. Then then I want you to notice Psalms forty five. This famous13:28 verse, my heart is indicted in a good matter. I speak of things which I have made touching the king. And listen to these words, my tongue... I know my13:40 great great granddaddy's tongue was cursing and hating God, those blankety blank preachers, but my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.13:58 I gotta... I've gotta read it because it just does something to me. In the same chapter or the next chapter, Psalms forty six is the song of14:10 the songs of of of the sons of Korah. Listen to this. He says, our God is a refuge and a strength. A very present help in the time of trouble.14:23 Who's writing this folks? The sons of Korah. We've been in trouble. Our family's been in trouble. Our our our family name has been in trouble. Our history has been in...14:35 Our heritage, our inheritance has been in severe trouble. But I found that God... I've got the tongue of a ready writer to tell you that these these... All eleven of these chapters14:46 reek with thankfulness and gratitude. Thankfulness and gratitude. Oh, God. I have a tongue of a ready writer. I wanna tell people how good you are. I'm not bitter. I'm not angry. I'm not14:58 hurt. I'm I'm joyful. I'm thankful. Then he says this, he says, though therefore15:10 we will not fear though the earth be removed. Well, he was there when the earth was removed. He was there when the ground swallowed15:22 up his relatives and his whole family name. But he said, I've been through that trouble with the family, and God is a present help in the time of trouble. And I'm redeeming my family name15:34 by writing that God is faithful no matter what you go through. Almost done. I'm not gonna do... I know you're thinking he's gonna do all eleven chapters. No, I'm not. Just relax.15:49 He writes in that same chapter, verse chapter forty six verse ten, be still and know that I am God. And some people misquote16:01 that scripture as though there shouldn't be any shouting, shouldn't be any clapping, waving hands, and and and getting with it in the in the service. That's... Be be still. That's that's some of you's favorite sermon, or16:12 his favorite text in the bible, be still. Because you do it the whole service. Except the altar call. Be still and know16:24 that I am God. You know what he's saying? If you literally look that word still, internally, no matter how real the trouble is, no matter how the earth is shaking and things are being removed16:36 and it feels like your family's going down, be still internally from anxiety, panic, fear, worry, torment, vexation of spirit. Don't be16:48 still and know that even in the midst of whatever, I am God. They could write it because they went through it. But watch this. On the16:59 inside, be still, but then they write Psalms forty seven, the sons of Korah, first verse, on the outside, outside, on the inside, be still, be at peace, be at17:11 rest, don't worry, don't fear. But on the outside, clap your hands, all you people. Shout unto God with the voice of triumph.17:28 I'm done. I'm done. Except for one more verse. One more verse. They wrote Psalms eighty four. You're not gonna believe it.17:40 But one day in thy courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. Listen to these words. I had rather, there's17:52 no bitterness here. I know that I don't have that of an important name or position like Moses, but I'm gonna tell you seemingly, and yet it was huge.18:05 He said, I'd I'd rather be a doorkeeper. You know who wrote that? The sons of Korah. I'd rather be a doorkeeper in the house of God than to dwell18:18 in the tents. Remember? That's where God's judgment fail. He said, I'd rather be in the house of God. Give me18:30 anything to do. I'll sit there and pay my tithes and worship God and love people and shake hands and pat on the back and pray with people. I'd rather be18:42 a doorkeeper in the house of God than have... Be a part of the biggest scene in Hollywood or in any other place that the world has18:54 off. So so my daughter, Courtney, we were talking and she said, dad, have youGenerational Impact and Redeeming the Family Name 19:06 ever seen this? And I said, no. And she told me about how that when a woman is pregnant with a female, that there are eggs19:19 in the five month old female for the next five generations. That means that when mama praises the19:30 Lord, she's not just praising for here and now. When mama comes to church, she's not just hearing sermons for here and now, but thy word have I hid in my heart19:42 and my children and my children's children and my children's great children and my children's children's children. Every sermon I hear, every time I raise my hand, every time I give God my tithe, every time I praise him,19:54 every time I fast, every time I read the word, I'm not just doing it for me, it has a ripple effect for five generations.20:07 And I gotta I gotta finish with this. Ruth was a Moabite. Ruth was of the tribe of Moabites.20:19 That was Lot's daughters when they got drunk. Lot and his daughters and had relations, incest. Out of that came a tribe called Moabites.20:31 They were so wicked. If you... Again, look it up for yourself. If you don't take my word for it, you can just Google this stuff now. It's amazing. But they would teach their daughters. They would... The way you made the20:42 Moabite family name proud is if your daughter became a prostitute. Out of that situation, she probably was at20:54 one time a prostitute, came a girl named Ruth. And what happened is she's looking at her family generation after generation, and she meets a young21:06 Jewish boy who has a mother named Naomi. And a famine comes, she gets married in... Out of that into this family. But but her husband dies in21:18 a famine and she grabs her mother-in-law. She looks back at all of that and she says, entreat me not to leave you. Don't put me away because my husband21:30 died because your God will be my God and your people... I want a family like this. I don't want a family like that. Your people will be my people.21:44 She goes in a field to get the welfare that was left on purpose, and Boaz, the owner, sees her, falls in love with21:56 her, marries her, and they have a child named Obed. Watch her. Watch. You can redeem your family name. And22:09 Obed and his wife have a child named Jesse, and Jesse has a son named David. Oh, I gotta preach right here. Wait. Wait. Wait. Wait. Wait. Wait. Don't take my time22:21 shouting. And guess who identified David as the king of Israel by the leading of the Holy Spirit? A man by the prophet by the name of Samuel and22:32 first Chronicles six says Samuel was of the tribe of the Kohites, which was the sons of Korah. Samuel, the prophet who not one of his22:44 words fell to the ground for Samuel three was the one who said, It's not that one, that one, that one. Oh, the Holy Spirit's telling me David and he pours it on and then you read the book of Matthew22:57 and it starts so and so begot it. Right in there, you see what I just... I got to. And guess what? Right at the bottom of the list. And Mary23:09 had Jesus. They changed their genetic code when Jesus got in. He broke the23:20 curse. She redeemed her family name Forever. You can23:32 too. Our family's not gonna be known as addiction. Our family's not gonna be known as dysfunction in Jesus' name. Our family is not gonna be known as23:43 divorce. Our family is not gonna be known as suffering. Our family, our family is gonna be known as Jesus is in their genetics. They go through the same stuff, but they end up23:55 right back where they started. Jesus. Jesus. Give me Jesus. That should be our heritage. Get Jesus in your genetics.24:12 Maybe you've watched this program, and you felt the Holy Spirit while I preached. I pray you have. And I just feel faith today for what man cannot do, God24:24 can do. And, Lord, stretch forth Your hand to heal today every person watching this broadcast that needs a healing touch. You're the God that said, by my stripes,24:36 we are healed. There is none beside You. You are a healing God, and you are a saving god. So right now, if you're watching this program, and you really wanna get back to god,24:48 you wanna you wanna surrender everything to him, maybe you're going through a crisis, and it's got your full attention, And you know the answer deep down in your heart, it's Jesus.Prayer for Salvation, Healing, and Family Restoration 25:00 Call on him. Call on him. He can still help. He can still deliver. Say these words, Jesus, I pray right now for forgiveness of25:12 sins. I repent. I turn myself around, and I come back to you. Wash me, cleanse me, forgive me. God, we ask You25:24 today for what man cannot do. In Jesus mighty Name. Hallelujah. Praise the Lord. I believe it. And I believe that You're experiencing the power25:36 of prayer. It's not how long we pray, but even while I've been praying, I could sense that God is doing something right where you are. If you prayed that prayer, take a25:47 moment and call, go online. If you'd like, let us know about the decision you've made. We'd love to hear from you and help you take the next steps with your walk with God. A lot of free resources25:59 that'll bless you, help you in your brand new journey with Jesus Christ.26:09 On October seventh, southern Israel experienced the worst massacre of Jews since the holocaust. Children, families, and entire communities were attacked by terrorists who murdered,26:21 kidnapped, and shattered lives. Today, twenty five hundred children in Eshkol are trying to return to school, to safety, and to life, but the threat is not26:32 over. Terrorists across the border continue to threaten civilian areas with anti tank missiles. In partnership with the Jewish National Fund, Jenson26:44 Franklin Media Ministries has built hundreds of safe rooms, fortified the Kingdom Play School, and constructed bomb shelters and a resilient center that protect families in Eshkol every day.26:57 Now, the next urgent step is completing the Eshkol wall of protection, a massive reinforced wall designed to protect the children coming into school.27:06 I was a former teacher in the school behind this wall. It houses approximately two and a half thousand children, two thousand five hundred. These children come to school here every day, and you can only imagine27:18 what it must feel like as a parent to send your children to school knowing that the school's within reach of anti tank missiles, that playgrounds are no longer safe, school27:30 buses are not safe, and this wall has changed all of that.27:34 Well, I'm very happy that they built this wall. I never thought that anybody would just care about us because we're just some kids from a random country, but it's actually so nice to know that there's people that care27:42 about us.27:44 Today as you stand with Israel in her hour of need, you are not only helping protect these precious children, you are helping fulfill biblical prophecy. Your gift creates a hedge of protection for over27:56 twenty five hundred children in Eshcol and their families. Stand with the children of Eshcol. Stand with Israel.28:12 If you've been watching, you've noticed that we've really been focusing on the home and the family. And I have this beautiful twenty one day devotion, Miracles in Your Home, and I28:24 believe it will be a tremendous blessing to you. Hence, for a happy home, it has verses and it has instructions and it tells you how to teach your children how28:36 to get along with one another. You can use it. It's just a couple pages every day, and it'll be a blessing to you and your family. This is our gift to you if you write us. If you can, for your gift of28:48 any size, we'll send you this, and we'll also send you some anointing oil. And this is a good thing to have if anybody gets sick. Mother, father, you have authority in Jesus'28:59 name to anoint your children with oil and pray for God's healing and God's help and God's consecration. Anoint their bedrooms. Anoint their their clothes, their their29:11 beds if you have to. Do whatever you have to do, then fight for your family. We wanna help you, and we're gonna quick you with anointing oil and a twenty one day devotional journey in the word. And29:23 all of this is about miracles in your home.29:30 This program has been sponsored in part by friends and partners of Jenson Franklin Media Ministries.
