Today’s prayer
Written prayerLord, your word says that the joy of the lord is my strength. Your joy fills me with hope and expectation. I feel that wonderful energy pulsing through me, and my heart dances with delight. I am cheerful because I am not weighed down by guilt and condemnation. I have a clear conscience because you have forgiven me of all my sins. You saw my shame and loved me through it. You called me out of darkness and washed me clean. I am now filled with the light of your truth and love. I have a heart full of gratitude and spiritual joy. Even doctors know that a positive attitude and a joyful spirit work wonders on the physical body. Depression and sadness rob the body of its vitality and drys the bones and they become brittle. A broken spirit filled with sorrow and hopelessness weakens the nervous system and depletes the strength of the body. How I feel affects what I think and what I think affects how I feel. Teach me to always keep my mind on you and your goodness so that I will have hope in my heart and a smile on my face.
