Midday Prayer on Psalm 5:4-5

Dear Lord, You are holy and set apart, unlike us in all Your ways. We chase power, while You call us to obedience. We confess how easily we treat Your presence as something we can manage—turning worship into performance and forgetting the weight of Your glory. Forgive us for carrying Your name lightly, for offering good intentions without reverent hearts. Teach us to fear You rightly—not with terror, but with surrendered awe. Shape us into people who do not only sing of Your power, but walk in reverence before You. Remind us that You are not safe in the way we define safety, yet You are always good. And still, we hold fast to hope, trusting that Your justice is wrapped in mercy and Your holiness flows from love. Draw us back, restore our hearts, and lead us again into faithful devotion. Amen.
