Today’s prayer
Written prayerLord, I have to laugh at how you baffle the minds of your people and your enemies. You sent a choir to march out before the army ensued in battle to sing your praises in the face of your enemies. I can imagine how confused the enemy must have been when they heard the choir coming, instead of the soldiers, singing, “Praise the Lord, his mercy endureth forever!” They were so confused they started killing each other and they all ended up dead. What a victory! Praise is a powerful weapon of warfare that the enemy can’t stand against. It confuses him and at the same time hides us in the secret place where the enemy can’t even find us. The joy of the Lord is our strength and we must hold on to it and never let anyone or anything rob us of our strength. Praise lifts my spirit and focuses my thoughts on the beauty of my Lord. My God is the one who fights on my behalf and is able to deliver me out of any despair or trouble I face. I will face the enemy with a song of praise in my mouth and joy in my heart and watch you scatter my enemies. I love you Lord, in Jesus name, amen.
