Today’s prayer
Written prayerHeavenly Father, I would have loved to be part of the solemn assembly that came from far and wide for a week to dedicate the temple and joyously celebrate. Two weeks of trumpets blowing, choirs singing and praising and dancing to worship the one true God of all Israel. The temple was filled with the glory of the Lord and what a wonder to be in your presence at such a time. This massive celebration must have been like a touch of heaven. I am grateful for Sunday morning worship services at my church. It is wonderful to join with believers to stand in your presence and sing praises to your name. I feel the tangible touch of your loving spirit during those times. Your presence refreshes me and energizes me to forge ahead into the week with joy in my heart. Your spirit washes away the road dust of everyday living that can pollute me with its carnal agenda and the worldly attitudes I encounter. Let me continue to sing your praises in my heart today wherever I go. Make me have happy feet as I dance along the path you have prepared before me. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
