Today’s prayer

Written prayer

Heavenly father, I admire your ability to serve your own wise and righteous purposes by the folly of foolish men. You left Rehoboam to his own folly and hid his ability to see the things, which belonged to his peace, so the kingdom might be torn from him. He was blinded by pride, and his desire for absolute power corrupts and is fatal for leadership. The Bible speaks of the curse men endure when they trust the counsel of men over God. I am tempted to depart from the you and trust man who have no wisdom or real principles by which to guide me. Those that lose the kingdom of heaven, throw it away, as Rehoboam did, by willfulness and folly. Lord, keep me humble with an open attitude to listen to the counsel of wise men. In order to live justly it is important to have an open heart and a humble attitude before You. To receive wisdom and counsel from on high. Lord, I wait on you to direct my path. Thank you for your hand of grace and protection over my life.

In Jesus name, Amen.
