Today’s prayer
Written prayerDear Lord, my heart is set toward you day and night! Do not let me be ashamed of my actions in worship. Help me keep my heart focused on you and you only, not on other gods or forms of help that you would disapprove of. It is tempting when under pressure and not hearing from you immediately to turn to other gods. But, Lord, other gods of wood, stone, and metal only appear to have ears but they cannot hear, mouths but they cannot speak. They have no mind to assist me with answers to my needs. I want only to worship you, Lord, and to obey you with my entire heart, soul, and life to be found worthy of your blessings. Please guide me in your paths of righteousness. I cannot face death without You! You are my hope of glory that gives me courage. I trust You with my entire heart. Oh Lord, my God, how excellent is Your name in all the earth. You are higher than all of creation that was wrought by Your hand. How amazing and all-powerful You are. You are perfect truth. There is no lie in You. Only You can be trusted in all affairs of life and death. In Jesus name, amen.
