Global Prayer on Proverbs 17:9

He that covereth a transgression seeketh love; but he that repeateth a matter separateth very friends.

Proverbs 17:9 · KJV

Today’s prayer

Written prayer

Father, I see so many people, even married couples, constantly bringing up past injuries and throwing them back in the face of who they are arguing with. I think that is why so many people have an issue with trust. If I share a fault about myself with someone I am not sure they will use it against me if they get mad at me, or use it to gossip about me to others. It is sad how so many people can’t be trusted with my most sensitive issues. I’d love to be vulnerable with people but I have a hard time trusting them. It seems they like to pigeon hole people by their past mistakes and don’t give God a chance to change them. Love forgives past injuries done against them and covers transgressions just like God has forgiven mine. Father, teach me to see the best in others and not use the mistakes of their past against them. Guard me from gossiping about them to others. Teach me to cover over their past with your love. I want them to know they can trust me so we can have a deeper relationship as you intended for your children to have with each other.

In Jesus name Amen.
