Global Prayer on Job 1:11

But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.

Job 1:11 · KJV

Today’s prayer

Written prayer

Father, strengthen me to withstand the assaults of the enemy. He thinks that if he attacks me with falsehoods and slander I will curse you and turn against you. That is what Satan did to Job. He took everything Job held dear including his wife and children in hopes that job would get angry and blame God. “Why God?” is what I have often said at those times when I didn’t understand and in my hurt and anger I have gotten angry at God. It is at those times God soothes my heart with his compassion and gentles my spirit – if I let him. When I come to the end of my frustration and anger I hear the Lord whisper, “are you ready to listen?” It is then God’s healing enters my heart. If I get up and walk away and refuse to listen or let the Lord comfort me I have played right into the enemies plans. Satan plays on my emotions, hopes, and the things of my flesh, all the things I need to surrender to the Lord: my pride and self-will that are lurking just below the surface. If I truly believe “they will be done, not my will” I have to trust that God has allowed this for a purpose in my life. The question needs to be “What Lord?'' What do you want to teach me through this? What do you want to heal in me? In Jesus name, amen.
