Today’s prayer
Written prayerLord, You certainly can humble a person when you stand up in your majesty. So often I don’t understand your ways and I get upset with you because your ways are contrary to what I think should happen. I sometimes pout and get angry because you are not doing things my way. My little finite mind can’t compare with the vastness of your wisdom. I can’t see the future and I don’t know the glorious plans you have laid out for me that you are preparing me for. You don’t owe me any explanations. I wasn’t there when you laid the foundations of the earth and I have no idea how to keep a universe spinning. I am truly ignorant and know nothing of creation. Who am I to think I could tell you what to do? You are the mighty God of the universe and I am humbled before you. Forgive me for being so arrogant to think I can contest your will or tell you what to do. You always give me a choice. I can walk away and do things my way or trust your almighty wisdom and surrender to your will. My desire is to always be in the center of your will for my life. That is my safe place and where I long to be. In Jesus name, amen.
