Global Prayer on Matthew 2:1-2

Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

Matthew 2:1-2 · KJV

The prayer

Written prayer

Father, what excitement must have filled the atmosphere with anticipation when these wise astronomers, who followed prophecy and searched the heavens, suddenly spotted a new star in the sky. They interpreted this star as the miraculous star that foretold the birth of the king they were searching for. They knew this star would lead them to the newborn king. It was his star they followed to Jerusalem so they could be the first to worship the King of the Jews and ultimately all mankind. All creation even the heavens expresses your wonder and wisdom. Your spirit is all around me speaking, guiding, and directing me into your purposes. If I quiet my soul and listen for your still small voice I will be amazed at what I hear. If I lift up my eyes and look around I will recognize your presence. If I seek you I will find you if I seek you with all my heart. Quicken my heart Lord Jesus that I may search for you with all my heart and find myself drawn into the deep things of the Spirit that only a true disciple of God will find. Cause me to hunger after righteousness that I might bow down and worship the true king of the Jews. In Jesus precious name, amen.
