The prayer
Written prayerFather, when I think of those simple shepherds tending their sheep on that starry night and seeing that radiant star in the heavens, how thrilled they must have been. Or the wise men who saw a new miraculous star in the heavens signifying that the King of the Jews had been born. All those who saw the star witnessed to its divine appearing. Their lives were forever changed. The lowly shepherds were the first to see the hope of that star and came to the stable to humbly adore the baby Jesus. When the star shone down over the stable and rested on them the light signified the end of the journey for all those seeking to find the King of Glory. The wise men brought their gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. Their hearts must have been filled with joy at finding whom they had been searching for. Fill my heart with joy as I follow the star to the manger where my humble savior was born and worship my newborn king in the midst of all the holiday festivities. May I always remember that sweet baby boy grew to be a man that loved the world so much he laid down his life that we might have eternal life and live forever with him in his home above. Thank you Jesus for the best gift love we will ever receive. In your precious name amen.
