Global Prayer on 1 Corinthians 1:18

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

1 Corinthians 1:18 · KJV

The prayer

Written prayer

Heavenly father, if I were not persuaded that you raised Jesus Christ from the grave I would indeed be foolish. It would be stupid to live a holy life and deny myself physical pleasures in this life if this is the only life I will know. That is why many look at me and think I’m ridiculous for trying to deprive myself of what you call sin. Putting others first, and doing good to others, forgiving those who use and abused me, and trusting in a life beyond the grave sounds like a fairytale to those who are blinded by the sin of this world. They cannot see the truth until you give them the grace to open their eyes. But those of us who know you and have been saved by your shed blood see the power of God and know in our heart of hearts that what you said is true. You have gone before us to prepare a place where we will live with you for all eternity in joy, peace, and love. We see the spiritual battle that is raging in this life and only through your sacrifice on the cross can we be delivered and live in victory through the power of your holy spirit, In Jesus name, amen.
