The prayer
Written prayerLord, how gracious you are to those of us wrapped in fragil flesh. When you appeared in your overpowering majesty to John he fell at your feet in utter humility. When our sinful nature, no matter how hard we try to be holy, meets your glorious purity we can be nothing less than devastated. Our unworthiness is overwhelming. Yes, in your benevolence you reached out your hand and lay it on his head and said fear not. Your touch gave him strength and calmed his trembling heart. What soothing words filled with kindness and love. We are not to fear your presence since you have called us into your presence. You dwelt among us, and you know the weakness of our beings. You are the first and the last; you have always been and always will be. You were there in my past and will be with me as I move into my future. You can and have accomplished all your promises and purposes. You are the great I am and nothing is impossible for you. You raised Jesus from the grave and you will raise me from the grave on that final day when you come to take me home. In Jesus name, amen.
