The prayer
Written prayerDear Lord, I can’t imagine what the women must have felt when they saw the stone that sealed the tomb where Jesus was laid was rolled away. Of course they entered into the tomb and what a great surprise to see a young man in a long glistening white robe sitting there. He had to be an angel sitting beside the empty tomb. Instead of encouraging them the sight of this angelic being filled them with terror and amazement. What was this young man doing there and why was he such a young man? Eternal beings are filled with life that never decays, they are filled with youthful vigor that never grows old, they are adorned with beauty and incredible strength. They are immortal beings that shine with the light of heaven and radiate the grace of God. There is no death or decay in heaven. What an amazing encounter to actually experience one of God’s angels who came to comfort those who were grieving for their crucified Lord and master. There in the empty tomb sat an angel waiting for them, knowing they would need his comfort at this most amazing moment in time. Thank you Lord for knowing what we need before we even know ourselves. Thank you for sending us comfort in the midst of our pain and fear. In Jesus name, amen.
