  7. 9193283 How Can You Accept the Season God Has You In?In life, we often find ourselves wrestling with circumstances that don't align with our will and desires. We resist situations and tasks with all our might, unaware of God's presence. How can you accept the season God has you in? We don't always know why we are where we are. But it's during these moments that we need to draw closer to God and what His Word teaches us as to how to be content and not lose sight of where God is leading us. Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co  The Bible reminds us in Ecclesiastes 3:1, "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens." This verse acknowledges the divine order of things and emphasizes the importance of accepting the various seasons of life. It's a gentle nudge from God, reminding us that each chapter of our lives has a purpose. When faced with a season we don't necessarily want or understand, we can find solace in Philippians 4:11-12, where the apostle Paul writes, "I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation." Paul's words carry immense weight as he speaks from a place of personal growth and spiritual maturity. Being content does not mean we become complacent or settle for mediocrity. It means we trust in God's sovereignty and have faith that He will make all things work together for our good (Romans 8:28). Accepting the season we find ourselves in allows us to discern the direction God wants us to take, even when it may not align with our own plans. "Accepting the season God has placed you in is an act of surrender and trust. It is acknowledging that God's ways are higher than yours, and He knows what is best for you. Additionally, prayer and studying God's Word provide us the spiritual sustenance needed to maintain contentment. Romans 15:4 reminds us that "everything that was written in the past was written to teach us so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide, we might have hope." By seeking guidance through prayer and immersing ourselves in scripture, we gain a deeper understanding of God's plan and purpose for our lives. This understanding empowers us to embrace the season we are in, recognizing it as a stepping stone towards growth and transformation. Aaccepting the season God has placed you in is not an easy task. It requires surrendering your will and trusting in His divine plan. However, in doing so, you open ourselves up to an abundance of blessings and the joy that comes from discerning God's direction.   13. 9253277 In the Name of LoveTake a moment to look in the mirror. What do you see? Do you see the flaws and imperfections, or a person worthy of love and compassion? What more in the name of love do you need to see? Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a man we honor today, advocated for racial equality and justice in the Civil Rights Movement. But his approach was so different in that it was deeply rooted in Christian principles and the teachings of Jesus Christ. So what do you see? Do you see wrinkles, an aging person, and one who has failed more than succeeded? Do you see more of what you should have done versus what you can do? Do you see a failed mom because her children didn't turn out a certain way? But here's the truth: your reflection says a lot about how you judge yourself and how you judge others. Prejudice doesn't come from knowledge, but from assumptions. Most of the time, those assumptions are wrong because we only see the surface-level markings and not the compassion in one's heart. Dr. King believed that each of us was created in the image of God as stated in the Bible, and that we should love and treat each other equally with respect and dignity, regardless of race or background. His teachings remind us that love knows no bounds, and it begins with who you see in the mirror. In his famous "I Have a Dream" speech delivered during the historic March on Washington in 1963, Dr. King spoke of his dream for a future where people are not judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. This vision is reflected in Galatians 3:28. 28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. (Galatians 3:28) It's time that we build bridges, and it starts with you. The K.I.S.S. ~ Build bridges! So today, I challenge you to look at your reflection. Go deeper than the quick reaction of "I've got all the friends." But how much does your heart really see the person in front of you? How much do you see yourself? To honor Dr. King's legacy of love, let's start by looking inward, going beyond the reflections of what we lack, and truly appreciating the reflection of our gifts. 1. But marriage is a two-way street, and you make up half of that. So, let's look at what it's like to be a spectacular spouse. 1. Have a Harmonious Heart One of the cornerstones of any successful relationship is harmonious communication. To become a spectacular spouse, it is vital to enhance your communication skills by actively listening, expressing your own thoughts and feelings, and creating a safe space for open dialogue. Harmonizing Hearts involves creating an environment where both partners can feel heard, understood, and validated. This means actively listening to your spouse with genuine interest and empathy, allowing their thoughts and feelings to resonate with your own. It involves reflecting on what they have shared to ensure that you truly understand their perspective. By doing so, you are building a bridge between your hearts and fostering a deeper emotional connection. In addition to listening, effective communication requires expressing yourself honestly and respectfully. Instead of bottling up your concerns or frustrations, learn to communicate them calmly and constructively. By using "I" statements and focusing on your own emotions and needs, you can avoid blame and encourage a more collaborative approach. For example, instead of saying, "You never help with household chores," you can say, "I feel overwhelmed with the household responsibilities. I would appreciate it if we could find a way to share the workload." Remember, harmonious communication is not about avoiding conflict, but rather addressing it in a way that promotes understanding and resolution. By harmonizing hearts through active listening and mindful expression, you can create a solid foundation for a spectacular marriage. 2. Show Gestures of Love and Affection Small gestures can often make the biggest impact when it comes to strengthening your marriage. When you build a healthy dialogue, you build trust and strengthen the parent-child relationship. 2. REASSESS Reassess your parenting approaches and constantly seek opportunities for growth and improvement. Regularly reassess your parenting approaches and strategies. This involves reflecting on your actions, acknowledging what is working well, and identifying areas for improvement. By being open to self-reflection and making necessary tweaks, you can feel more assured in your decision-making. 3. UNDERSTAND Understand that each child is unique and embrace their individuality to build a strong connection. Spend the time to understand each child's individuality, needs, and perspectives. This involves empathy, active listening, and taking the time to truly comprehend your child's thoughts and feelings. By cultivating a deep understanding, you can respond sensitively and effectively to your child's unique requirements. 4. SEEK Seek support and knowledge from fellow parents, support groups, or professionals who can provide guidance and reassurance. Recognize the importance of seeking out help from others. This includes reaching out to other parents, joining support groups, or seeking guidance from professionals. By connecting with a community of support, you can find reassurance, gain valuable insights, and learn from shared experiences. You aren't doing it alone, even though, at times, it does feel pretty lonely. 5. TIME Take the time to reflect on your parenting journey and take time to spend time with your child.  Allow yourself time to rest, recharge, give yourself a break when you need it, and practice self-care. Parenting is demanding, and taking care of one's own physical, mental, and emotional well-being is vital. But on the flip side, you need to spend time with your child. Do your best to have "real time" together. And that's when you hang out with no expectations from you, but simply to be present. You need to see and hear your child. However, today, I want to invite you to the table. I want you to sit with me for a moment and not let distractions get in the way. This is your divine appointment to hear exactly what God wants you to hear. But you have to slow down to speed up. When you look in the mirror, who do you see? And I want you to be honest, brutely honest! Do you see a person who is trying to live a life for everyone else with little to give back to herself? Do you see a person who has tired eyes and a heavy heart that pants for rest, but can't find any time? Do you see a person who wants more than where they're at, but has absolutely no idea where to stop in order to start again? God did not create you in His image to destroy the hope He gave you through His Son, Jesus Christ. God did not create you to run ragged, only to put yourself in a corner that you can't escape. God did not create you to look in the mirror and see yourself. God created you so you could see His reflection! The K.I.S.S. ~ Get a grip on grace! My friend, God wants you to see Him in you. But the crazy thing is that...   you're too busy,  you're too in debt,  you're too distracted,  you're too consumed by the world.  You're too.   God desires for you to know Him and to glorify Him. That is your divine purpose. But unfortunately, we see our lives through the lens of the world; and that's where the missteps happen.  You judge yourself critically, not giving yourself the grace that God extends to you every day.  You run yourself ragged, hoping to get noticed when God sees you.  You fight battles alone, because you haven't invited God into your army. Get a grip on grace. I was singing the song "Amazing Grace" in the shower this morning thinking about my dear friend who is walking his last steps of greatness here on earth. Thankfully, the water soothed my tears as they fell from my eyes. Some things just have no words. All you can do is hold them close in your heart, and deeper in your soul. But one thing my dear friend, Dan Miller, taught me, is to "Be still, and know that I am God." ~ Psalm 46:10. And it wasn't with his words or his teachings, it was simply him living. Living a life that showed him how to get a grip on grace. Where are you, my friend? As you sit at the table, what are you struggling with? Give it to God. Don't try to hold it close and think you can do everything by yourself. Go deeper with God and get a grip on grace, the only grace that can give you freedom.  And that doesn't mean you will have all the answers in a snap or by tomorrow morning. It means that when you look at yourself in the mirror, you see a little more of God and a little less of you. "Be present. Be incredible. Yet, we yearn for a deeper connection, a more harmonious love for one another. Build stronger bridges. But as you know, this doesn't come easy. Keep what you have (which doesn't seem like much), or drop the gauntlet and get a divorce. And in truth, that's the reality of a lot of people. Maybe it's yours right now. Maybe you have been hanging on by a thread, hoping for something more, but getting nothing.  How can you truly transform your marriage and build stronger bridges? It takes one step at a time to build the bridge. The K.I.S.S. ~ One step at a time! Many times, we want to hurry the process out of desperation. We want to make what isn't good go away, and keep only the good and multiply it. However, those actions have fallen flat, because remember, you've tried everything.  So let's go a little deeper in order to build that bridge one step at a time. 1. See What Your Spouse Sees Not only do we need to open our hearts, but we need to open our eyes. You've gotta see what your spouse sees; otherwise, what you do is simply through your own eyes– which can be misleading. It's not that you don't see what is happening, but it is one-sided. Marriage is a two-way street. So be willing to go two-way, not just driving on the one-way that seems to be easier for you. One of the main ways you can do that is through communication. Communication is the foundation of any successful marriage. Yet, it is often the first thing to deteriorate when couples face challenges. So to build stronger bridges, it's crucial to embrace effective communication. And that being seeing what your spouse sees.  What is your spouse's body language when you greet them after they return home from work? A conference? A night out with their friends? What do your spouse's eyes say when you bring up various topics for discussion? Do you get eye rolls? Do you get a person who leans in more? What is it? When you talk, do you all speak only through texts, or maybe you're on your digital device to keep you occupied? Create a safe space for open dialogue, free from judgment or criticism, which means you have to be open to what your spouse sees. Remember that effective communication is a two-way street. 2. Spend Time Together In the hustle and bustle of life-- you've got the busyness. But do you have the heart?  Let that sink in. Sometimes we are so focused on the honey to-do list that we forget what really matters. Yes, you have to pay attention to all the responsibilities like kids, bills, supper, and laundry, but you can't forget the partner you said you wanted to do it all with. So don't let time slip through the cracks. Schedule those regular date nights or carve out dedicated moments each day for undivided attention. Go to bed to spend time together, whatever you want to do. But these are precious moments and time you'll never get back. Put away the distractions and focus solely on your spouse. Engage in activities to reconnect and nurture your shared interests. Quality time allows you to experience joy, laughter, and intimacy, reigniting the flame of love and strengthening your bond. 3. Show Gratitude and Appreciation There is nothing more powerful than stepping out of your ego and letting someone else know that you appreciate them, and that what they do matters! Gratitude is a powerful tool in building stronger bridges in your marriage. Expressing appreciation for your spouse and acknowledging their efforts can have a profound impact on your relationship. And maybe you do it periodically. But what if you did it every day from a genuine position of love? Make it a habit to show genuine gratitude for the little things they do, whether it's a thoughtful gesture or simply being there for you. Till the soil in your home by planting appreciation seeds. Remember, a simple "thank you" can go a long way in strengthening the bridge that connects you both. "Marriage is not just about finding the right person, but becoming the right person." ~  Kristianne Wargo Ask yourself this question: Is what I'm seeking in my marriage something that I'm giving to my spouse? Are you being kind and considerate, not just because it's easy, but because you really want to? Are you extending forgiveness first? Look at your reflection. So even when they do stray, they still know that you're always for them. Today, my heart breaks for Perry, Iowa, and what the families are facing there. Perry is a smaller town in Iowa, and I'm sure no one thought this could happen in their town. But even as the new year is upon us, old stuff still shows up. And as parents, we have to ready our families within our own four walls and teach them to the best of our abilities. No one ever thinks that something like this will happen. And it's not because we are arrogant or untouchable, we just go about our every day not thinking that way. But if you want to have an impact on your children, you have got to connect to their hearts. It truly is about creating heartfelt connections with your child. The K.I.S.S. ~ Create heartfelt connections! Now, I will say this. There is no blame here in regard to what happened in Perry, Iowa. In fact, we all should be praying for those who have been affected and make changes within our own families to better ourselves. It's not about perfection, but merely doing better with each decision and encounter we have with our children.  As much as we are connected digitally, our hearts are disconnected emotionally. If you want to create heartfelt connections with your children, what does it look like? 1. Engage in Meaningful Conversations Talk to you kiddos!!! Meaningful conversations lay the foundation for building strong connections with your child. In today's fast-paced world, it's easy to get caught up in superficial discussions or simply exchange pleasantries. Hey, how are you? And then you let it go. Do you really know your child? Take the time to engage in deep conversations, which helps to build that trust. Engage your child in open-ended conversations about their day, dreams, fears, or opinions. Encourage them to express themselves freely while actively listening without judgment. As parents, we are so quick to judge. And very rarely do we apologize for mistakes. Show genuine interest in your child, in what they're doing and what they're challenged with. It comes down to paying attention! 2. Share Experiences and Hobbies Get off your digital space, and share experiences with one another. Some of the most profound connections are forged through shared experiences and hobbies. Take the time to explore your child's interests and actively participate in activities they enjoy. Learn something new with them. It's a new year. Take up something like playing a board game, enjoying a hike together, or taking up a new hobby. Shared experiences create lasting memories and strengthen your bond. By engaging in activities your child loves, you demonstrate your support, encouragement, and willingness to be present in their world. Presence matters! Are you giving it to your child? 3. Practice Mindful Presence In our busyness, it's easy to let moments slip away without recognizing their true impact. When you are fully present, you send the message to your child that they matter and that they are a priority. Slow down and savor the simple joys of everyday life, like cooking together, reading a book before bedtime, or even having a family movie night. By being fully present and engaged in these moments, you emotionally connect with your child on a deeper level, reinforcing their sense of love, belonging, and significance. Your child longs to be seen and heard!! Remember, building heartfelt connections with your child requires intentional effort, but the rewards are immeasurable. "Your art must connect to their heart. It's about building that resilience and tapping into your fire space; that's the place where dreams live, and goals are achieved. So, think about what fuels your desires. What are the dreams and goals you deeply cherish? Take a moment to reflect on what drives you, envisioning the outcome and the impact it will have on your life and those around you. Visualization can help reignite a flickering ember and breathe life back into your pursuits. It's crucial to remember that roadblocks are not permanent. They are detours without motion. Meaning, they are temporary obstacles that test our commitment and resolve. "What does this make possible," my friend, Dan Miller, says. Instead of viewing them as setbacks, consider them as opportunities for growth, for expansion. Every roadblock presents a chance to learn, adapt, and become stronger. But it's all in how you choose to respond. In those moments when you find you're just done, "remember that discipline is the bridge between goals and achievements (Jim Rohn)." And when you embrace discipline, you can push through the resistance and stay on track, even when the going gets tough. Discipline is the act of showing up, day after day, regardless of how you feel. It's about putting in the work, even when the passion momentarily fades.  So, embrace the discomfort, dig a little deeper, and confront these roadblocks head-on. As you push through on this adventurous journey of conquering roadblocks and embracing your passion, remember these words: "The person who goes farthest is often the one who is willing to do what others won't (Dale Carnegie)."
