- 8203382 Don't Stumble On Things Behind YouIn life, our past experiences can often shape our present and future endeavors. However, lingering too long on past mistakes or holding onto past traumas can hinder our progress. Don't stumble on things behind you. Because when you do, you prevent yourself from moving forward. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co It's important to acknowledge the past, learn from it, and then actively work towards a brighter future. However, don't be too quick to dismiss your past. Your past has lessons that need to be understood and situations that need to be addressed. Deal with the past so you can be present in your everyday. According to a study conducted by the American Psychological Association, individuals who dwell excessively on past events are more likely to experience higher levels of stress, anxiety, and depression. This constant rumination can lead to a cycle of negative thinking that inhibits personal growth and happiness. Once you have the past dealt with in the best way possible that points you in the direction of well-being, then you can take steps to move forward. Dr. Rebecca Ray, a psychologist specializing in cognitive behavioral therapy, explains, "Our past can provide valuable lessons for the future, but when we fixate on it, we risk missing out on the opportunities and experiences that await us in the present moment. It's essential to strike a balance between reflecting on the past and actively engaging with the present." Maintaining a healthy perspective on the past involves letting go of negative self-talk and reframing past experiences in a more positive light. Psychologist Dr. Amanda Jones adds, "By practicing mindfulness and staying grounded in the present, individuals can cultivate resilience and pave the way for a more fulfilling future." "Embrace your past as a stepping stone, not a stumbling block." ~ Kristianne Wargo The K.I.S.S. ~ Embrace your past as a stepping stone, not a stumbling block! It would be great if we could go into our memories and press "delete". Yet, even if we could do that, we would not be able to appreciate all that we've been through. To break free from the shackles of the past and move towards a brighter future, here are three actionable steps individuals can take: 1. Practice Self-Compassion: Treat yourself with kindness and understanding, recognizing that everyone makes mistakes and experiences setbacks. Self-compassion allows for forgiveness and promotes a healthier self-image. 2. Set Current Goals: Define your aspirations and create a roadmap for achieving them. By setting specific, attainable goals, you can focus your energy on progress and growth rather than dwelling on past failures. 3. Seek Support: Reach out to trusted friends, family members, or mental health professionals, counselors, and coaches for guidance and encouragement. Building a support system can provide valuable insights and help individuals gain perspective on their past experiences. As Dr. Brene Brown says, "Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing that we'll ever do." Are you willing to do what it takes to understand the past, knowing that the present and future will be much brighter because you did the work, and now you'll be excited for what's to come, not angry about what happened? "The past is a teacher, not a life sentence." ~ Kristianne Wargo By taking proactive steps to break free from its grip, you can unlock your full potential and embrace the possibilities ahead. - 8223380 Do You Feel Seen?In the dance of marriage, the spotlight often shines brighter on one partner while the other fades into the shadows. Do you feel like your light shines bright for the one closest to you; do you feel seen? For those who feel unseen in their marriage, the repercussions can be profound, touching on issues of self-worth, communication breakdowns, and a sense of loneliness within the union. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co Relationship experts emphasize the importance of feeling validated and acknowledged within the context of a partnership. Dr. John Gottman, renowned for his work on marital stability and divorce prediction, notes that "Feeling understood and appreciated are key components of a healthy relationship." When one partner feels unseen, it can lead to a breakdown in these essential elements, creating a rift that deepens over time. Psychotherapist Esther Perel underscores the impact of feeling unnoticed, stating, "In marriage, one often feels like they are cruising through the motions, silently screaming for attention and connection." This silent plea for recognition can manifest in various ways, from emotional distancing to engaging in behaviors that seek validation outside the relationship. The consequences of feeling unseen in a marriage are far-reaching. Lack of validation can erode self-esteem, leading to feelings of inadequacy and unworthiness. Communication breakdowns often follow suit, as the unheard partner may withdraw or become resentful, further widening the gap between them. Over time, the emotional disconnection can culminate in a sense of loneliness, even within the confines of a committed relationship. "In marriage, the invisible wounds of feeling unseen can leave lasting scars on the heart, dimming even the brightest of love's light." - Kristianne Wargo What can be done if you are the one who feels unseen? The K.I.S.S. ~ Shine a light on what isn't seen! Whatever stays in the dark will be unresolved in the shadows of your every day. At some point, you have to be willing to shine a light on what isn't seen. 1. Initiate Open and Honest Communication: Expressing your feelings of being unseen to your partner is the first step towards resolving the issue. Schedule a time to have a calm, open conversation about how you've been feeling and what you need from them to feel more acknowledged in the relationship. And if you are not heard, you have bigger problems. 2. Seek Couples Therapy: Sometimes, having a neutral third party guide your discussions can be incredibly beneficial. Consider seeking couples therapy to explore deeper-rooted issues, improve communication, and learn strategies to ensure both partners feel seen and heard within the marriage. 3. Focus on Self-Care and Individual Growth: While working on your relationship dynamics, prioritize self-care and personal development; who you are and who you are becoming. Engage in activities that bring you joy, pursue hobbies that fulfill you, and prioritize your emotional well-being. By investing in yourself, you can cultivate a stronger sense of self-worth and resilience, irrespective of external validation. However, this is not about you fluffing your ego. This is about you becoming a better person regardless of the circumstances you find yourself in. Building a marriage where both partners feel truly seen requires a conscious effort to listen, validate, and appreciate one another. By acknowledging our partner's presence, celebrating their uniqueness, and fostering open communication, we can cultivate a relationship that thrives on mutual recognition and understanding. So, take a moment to ask yourself: Do you feel seen in your marriage? And if the answer is no, it may be time to shine a light on the unseen parts of your partnership, illuminating the path towards a deeper, more connected bond. Remember, a marriage where both partners feel truly seen is a marriage worth fighting for. "Be present. Be incredible. - 8233379 Don't Miss A MomentHave you ever thought, "I just have to go because my kids will not forgive me if I miss it?" Oh, how we pressurize our parenting lives, expecting ourselves to be everything and go everywhere; don't miss a moment! That ever-pressing demand to be present for every moment of your child's life might initially start as a desire, but is it sustainable? Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co In today's fast-paced world, being a parent can feel like being in a whirlwind of trying to be everywhere and go anywhere with your children, all while juggling work, household chores, and personal time. The pressure to not miss a single moment of your child's life can be overwhelming at times. But is it really necessary to be constantly on the go and present for every single moment? Or is it about finding a balance and cherishing quality time with your children? Parenting experts like Dr. Shefali Tsabary, author of "The Conscious Parent," emphasize the importance of finding self-care and maintaining your own identity as a parent. It's crucial not to lose yourself in the chaos of raising a family. Remember, taking care of yourself is just as important as taking care of your children. Yes, that's true. But on the other side, if you have littles, they solely depend upon you. And that means you might be losing sleep if they need to be fed in the middle of the night. There is no clear-cut answer to this dilemma. This truly is dependent ton the season and stage of life. Honestly, it becomes circumstantial. However, in saying that, you can't say that when you have children, nothing will change. Now that is a lie! Children change you!! You can't keep doing life the same way before you had children. Can you imagine what it would be like to take your child to work and have them sit in with you on business meetings and negotiations? To some degree, kids can go to work. But then your accessibility is limited. So in looking at this, don't miss a moment of what you can control in the season and stage of life that you're in. The K.I.S.S. ~ Don't miss a moment that matters! That means you have gotta release the pressure of not missing a moment, because there might be other moments that you are needed more. Again, you have to look at this from what you can control. Here are three things parents can do to avoid losing themselves in the midst of feeling the pressure to not miss a moment: 1. Schedule "Me Time" - Make it a priority to schedule time for yourself, whether it's a relaxing bubble bath, a walk in the park, or indulging in a hobby you love. Setting aside time for self-care can help you recharge and be a better parent. The ME TIME is not to ignore the children, but to rejuvenate your heart in serving your family. 2. Delegate Responsibilities — It's okay not to do everything. Ask for help! Delegate tasks to your partner, family members, or a trusted babysitter. Pay someone to do the jobs that other people can do so you can do the jobs only YOU can do. 3. Be Present in the Moment - While it's important to create lasting memories with your children, it's also essential to be present in the moment and not just physically there. Put away distractions like phones and work emails, and truly engage with your children during quality time together. You hanging out in the bleachers, taking up space so your child sees your face? That is NOT being present. That is merely making a statement that you are a super mom or super dad. But really, where does that land at the end of the day? It might be great if you're Mr. and Mrs. Incredible. But otherwise, it falls flat. Be careful not to fall into the trap that busyness puts you in because all you have are seconds cause you didn't want to schedule minutes. Slow down to speed up! Your day is not a marathon even though it feels that way. So take a step back and decide what really matters from the situation. Maybe your child would be okay with you missing the play, but they really want you there when for their first prom. Communicate with your children and the ones you are raising your kids with. Figure out how you can parent well without driving yourself into the ground. Don't miss a moment. Or better yet - don't miss a moment that matters to your child. "Be present. Be incredible. - 8243378 Find Strength In ExhaustionThe weight of responsibilities can feel overwhelming, and the fatigue can seep into every crevice of our beings. In those moments when it seems like the world is moving a million miles an hour, find strength in exhaustion. In the hustle and bustle of our busy lives, it's not uncommon to hit that wall of exhaustion that makes everything seem insurmountable; barely able to lift a finger, sapping our motivation and leaving us feeling stagnant. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co Dead's not fun! Yet, it's during these times of deep fatigue and weariness that our true resilience shines through. It's easy to keep going when the sun is shining and the wind is at our backs, but it's during the storms of exhaustion that our grit and determination are truly tested. When every step feels like a herculean effort, when even a simple smile feels like a heavy burden, it's important to remember that this too shall pass. The K.I.S.S. ~ Find strength in exhaustion! As Kristianne Wargo wisely said, "In the midst of exhaustion, we find our strength." It's in those moments of deep fatigue that we discover reservoirs of inner strength we never knew we had. It's when we feel like we're drowning that we learn to swim. So, how do we keep going when every fiber of our being screams for rest? Instead of looking at the mountain of responsibilities ahead, focus on taking one step at a time. As Lao Tzu said, "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." By breaking down your tasks into smaller, more achievable goals, you'll find that the seemingly impossible becomes possible. And don't forget to see when you're running on empty. You can't get anywhere if you don't have fuel. It's crucial to maintain the energy and motivation needed to keep going. As Audre Lorde famously said, "Caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation." Whether it's taking a hot bath, going for a walk in nature, or simply taking a few moments to breathe deeply, self-care is essential to replenishing your energy stores. Simply BREATHE!! You are accepting a challenge that you have no control over EXCEPT your own responses to the situation or circumstances. Here are three actions individuals can take to stay the course, reinforced by insights from experts in resilience and mental well-being. 1. Cultivate Grit As renowned psychologist Dr. Angela Duckworth emphasizes, cultivating grit is essential in weathering tough times. Grit is the tenacity and resilience to persevere in the face of challenges, setbacks, and failures. By developing a mindset focused on long-term goals and staying committed to them, individuals can summon the inner strength needed to overcome adversity. 2. Stay Resilient with Self-Care Another key aspect of staying resilient during difficult times is practicing self-care. Dr. Vivek Murthy, former Surgeon General of the United States, underscores the importance of maintaining physical, emotional, and mental well-being. Engaging in activities that bring joy, seeking support from loved ones, and prioritizing rest are vital components of self-care that can replenish our energy reserves and fortify us to face life's storms. 3. Be Vulnerable Furthermore, Dr. Brene Brown, a research professor who specializes in resilience, highlights the significance of vulnerability in building emotional resilience. Acknowledging and processing our feelings, sharing our struggles with trusted individuals, and seeking help when needed are courageous acts that can foster connection and resilience. "Vulnerability wins the heart." ~ Kristianne Wargo In the words of Kristianne Wargo, "Just as a tree needs support to weather a storm, your dreams require nurturing and protection to flourish amidst chaos and uncertainty." By tending to your dreams with care and taking proactive steps to safeguard them, you can sustain your momentum even in challenging times. Remember, like the determined dog digging around the tree, you have the power to secure your dream, replace the shaky ground with firm support, and continue growing towards your aspirations. Stay rooted in your purpose, stay connected with your support system, and stay resilient in the face of adversity. Your growth is unstoppable, even when the world around you may seem to be crumbling. - 8283374 Reclaim the SabbathBusyness tends to mute the need to rest. But how can you live life if you don't pause for the cause of refreshment? Instead of giving your power away to another day, reclaim the Sabbath. In today's fast-paced world, where hustle culture often takes center stage, the concept of Sabbath may seem outdated or impractical. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co But how is rest outdated or impractical? However, delving into the true essence of the Sabbath from a biblical perspective sheds light on its profound significance. Sabbath, originating from the Hebrew word "Shabbat," means to cease or rest. In the book of Genesis, we read that God rested on the seventh day after creating the heavens and the earth, establishing a rhythm of work and rest. We are consistently encouraged to find rest in the Lord throughout the Bible. Psalm 62:1 reminds us, "My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him." Peace and security are found when you entrust your life to God. The Greek term "sabbaton" signifies a day of sacred assembly and rest. In Matthew 11:28, Jesus extends a powerful invitation, saying, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." This invitation serves as a comforting reminder that in our moments of exhaustion and overwhelm, we can find comfort and renewal in the presence of the Lord. The K.I.S.S. ~ Reclaim the Sabbath! Renowned evangelist Dr. Robert Schuler emphasized the importance of the Sabbath, stating, "Sunday is the perfect day to refuel your soul and to be grateful for each and every one of your blessings." This sentiment is echoed throughout the Bible, underscoring the divine recognition of rest as a vital component of our well-being. Hebrews 4:9-10 further emphasizes the significance of entering into God's rest, stating, "There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God's rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his." This passage underscores the spiritual rest that transcends physical relaxation, inviting us to release our burdens and find peace in God's unchanging presence. In a world constantly vying for our attention and productivity, reclaiming the Sabbath is not merely a matter of convenience but a reflection of honoring God's design for holistic living. Kristianne Wargo aptly says, "In the stillness of the Sabbath, we find restoration for our souls and realign our priorities with what truly matters." The Bible consistently portrays rest as a foundational aspect of our faith journey, reminding us of the restorative power of surrendering to God's care and provision. As we realign our perspective on Sabbath, let us embrace the divine invitation to rest, reflect, and rejuvenate, recognizing that true fulfillment transcends the relentless pursuit of productivity. - 8293373 Stop Being A DoormatIn a marriage, feeling like a doormat can slowly chip away at your sense of self-worth, leaving you feeling undervalued and dismissed. How can a marriage survive if you don't stop being a doormat? When one spouse feels like they are constantly being walked over, it changes the dynamic of the marriage. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co Marriage is no longer a partnership; it becomes a one-person show. Dreams and goals are no longer considered. And maybe you're not sure if you are in a marriage where you are the doormat, or treating your partner as such. The "walking all over" effect can manifest itself in various subtle or overt ways that erode one's sense of self-worth and the value you add as an individual. Marriage, yes, is a partnership where 2 become 1; however, the individual is not lose themselves because of another person. Some examples of being a doormat in marriage is: 1. Lack of Communication: Your spouse consistently dismisses or belittles your opinions, feelings, and needs. Your voice is silenced and you feel unheard in important discussions or decision-making processes. 2. Unequal Power Dynamics: One partner consistently exerts control over the other, making unilateral decisions without considering the other's input or feelings. This imbalance of power can lead to a sense of helplessness and lack of autonomy. 3. Emotional Neglect: Your emotional well-being is neglected, and your spouse fails to show empathy or support during challenging times. You may feel isolated and unsupported in dealing with your emotions or struggles. 4. Constant Criticism or Blame: You are frequently criticized, blamed, or made to feel responsible for issues in the relationship, even when they are not entirely your fault. This pattern of negativity can erode your self-esteem and confidence over time. 5. Lack of Appreciation: Your efforts, contributions, and sacrifices go unnoticed or unappreciated by your spouse. Your value in the relationship is overshadowed, leaving you feeling unacknowledged and unvalued. Signs that you might be feeling walked all over in your marriage include: 1. Feeling like your needs and opinions are consistently ignored or devalued. 2. Always giving in to your partner's demands or desires at the expense of your own. 3. Constantly feeling drained, unfulfilled, or unappreciated in the relationship. 4. Having a sense of powerlessness or helplessness in influencing decisions or dynamics within the marriage. 5. Experiencing a lack of emotional support, empathy, or understanding from your spouse. Recognizing these signs is the first step towards reclaiming who you are and who you are becoming, your self-worth within the marriage. If you want to have a healthier, more harmonious relationship dynamic, you need to address these patterns and reclaim your voice. The K.I.S.S. ~ Reclaim your voice! As you consider this for yourself, be careful to make sure you look at it from both perspectives. Being in a marriage means you do need to take into consideration both you and your spouse. Because if you are quick to point fingers and not look at the totality of the marriage and what you bring to the relationship, then your actions, or lack there of, can be just as bad as what is being done to you. Here are three essential steps to reclaim your voice and stop being a doormat in your relationship. 1. Set Boundaries: Marriage counselor Leslie Vernick emphasizes the importance of setting healthy boundaries in a relationship. Communicate assertively with your spouse about your needs and limits. Dr. Gary Chapman, author of "The Five Love Languages," suggests that understanding and expressing your needs can help create a more balanced dynamic in the marriage. 2. Practice Self-Care: Make self-care a priority in your life. Jimmy Evans, founder of MarriageToday and XO Conference, stresses that taking care of yourself emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually can strengthen your sense of self-worth. Remember, it's essential to fill your own cup before you can pour into your relationship. 3. Seek Counseling: If you feel consistently unheard and undervalued in your marriage, seek the support of a professional counselor. A trained therapist can help you and your spouse improve communication, address underlying issues, and work towards a healthier relationship dynamic. As Kristianne Wargo wisely said, "You can stop being a doormat, but it first starts with who you are and who you are becoming." Remember, reclaiming your self-worth is a journey that begins with prioritizing your own well-being and setting boundaries that honor your value in the relationship. By taking these proactive steps, you can begin to shift the dynamic in your marriage and foster a more respectful and equitable partnership. It's time to stop being a doormat and start valuing yourself within your relationship. "Be present. Be incredible. - 8303372 Do You Nurture Potential Or Dreams? As parents, it's natural to envision a bright future for our children. We may hope they excel in areas we value, whether academically, athletically, or artistically. However, do you nurture their potential or their dreams? In a world where societal pressure can influence parental decisions, it's essential to remember that a child's happiness and fulfillment should always come first. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co Nurturing a child's potential involves recognizing and developing their inherent abilities, talents, and strengths. This can include providing opportunities for growth, education, and skill development in areas where the child naturally excels. However, it can encourage more of your desires regardless of what the child states. On the other hand, supporting the child's own dreams entails encouraging and empowering them to pursue their passions, interests, and aspirations, even if they may differ from what parents initially envisioned for their child. It involves listening to the child's desires, understanding their goals, and providing the necessary support and guidance to help them achieve their dreams. While nurturing a child's potential may involve identifying areas of strength and talent to foster growth, supporting the child's dreams is about acknowledging their individuality and allowing them to explore their unique path to fulfillment. Both approaches are valuable in shaping a child's future, as they encompass a balance of encouragement, empowerment, and personalized support tailored to the child's needs and aspirations. But you must always keep the interest of the child first! Dr. Meg Meeker, a renowned pediatrician and author, emphasizes the importance of guiding children toward their own passions and dreams. "Every child is unique, with their own set of gifts and talents," she explains. "It's crucial for parents to listen to their children, understand their aspirations, and support them wholeheartedly." Parenting expert Dr. Laura Markham echoes this sentiment, stating, "Children thrive when they are allowed to explore their interests and pursue what brings them joy. Our role as parents is to provide guidance and encouragement, not to impose our own agenda." Ultimately, you've got to guide to provide. The K.I.S.S. ~ Guide to provide! If we are always chasing what we "think" is going to be good for the kiddos, when will we ever see the truth as to what "is" good for the children? "Our eyes and ears need to be open so our heart can see what inspires our children to be." ~ Kristianne Wargo Three Ways to Support Your Child's Dreams: 1. Listen Actively: Take the time to engage in meaningful conversations with your child. Encourage them to share their thoughts, dreams, and aspirations. You'll gain insights into what truly matters to them by actively listening. 2. Provide Freedom: Offer your child the freedom to explore different interests and hobbies. Avoid imposing rigid expectations and allow them to discover what truly resonates with their heart. 3. Celebrate Their Unique Qualities: Recognize and celebrate your child's individuality. Encourage them to embrace their strengths and passions, even if they differ from your own preferences. Kristianne Wargo wisely reminds us, "A parent's love and support should serve as a guiding light, illuminating the path for our children to follow their own dreams." In a world where external pressures can cloud our judgment, it's essential to prioritize our children's happiness and well-being. By embracing their uniqueness, celebrating their passions, and providing unwavering support, we empower them to soar toward success on their own terms. Remember, the greatest gift we can give our children is the freedom to be themselves. So, how can one navigate this sea of information and determine what truly works best for them? The K.I.S.S. ~ Define success for yourself! Here are three essential steps to help define success in your personal health journey: 1. Listen to Your Body: Pay attention to how different foods make you feel, observe the impact of various workout routines on your energy levels, and prioritize activities that promote mental well-being. Your body holds valuable insights that can guide you toward choices that align with your goals. 2. Set Realistic Goals: Establish clear and achievable objectives that are tailored to your preferences and lifestyle. Avoid comparing yourself to others and focus on incremental progress that is sustainable in the long run. As fitness expert Jillian Michaels advises, "Your goals should be specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound to ensure success." 3. Embrace Consistency Over Perfection: Consistent effort over time yields lasting results, whereas striving for perfection can lead to burnout and frustration. Find a balance that allows for flexibility and enjoyment in your health pursuits. In the words of Kristianne Wargo, "Success is not about perfection, but about progress and persistence." Ultimately, defining success for yourself in the realm of healthy living involves honoring your individuality, staying attuned to your body's signals, and adopting a balanced and sustainable approach. By embracing this personalized journey, you can create a lifestyle that nurtures your well-being and empowers you to thrive. "Be present. Be incredible. - 8343368 Playtime: An Ageless NecessityIn a society where the term "play" is often reserved for children, we overlook the vital importance of playtime in our adult lives. Don't let what feeds your creativity become stagnant. Playtime: an ageless necessity. Studies consistently show that play is not just a frivolous activity but a fundamental aspect of human nature that can significantly enhance our well-being and cognitive abilities. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co A study published in the American Journal of Play cites that play is crucial for reducing stress, improving brain function, and fostering creativity in adults. Additionally, research from the University of Edinburgh reveals that engaging in play activities can boost social connections and overall happiness levels. Where does play show up in your life? As we navigate the responsibilities and pressures of adulthood, reintegrating play into our daily lives can have transformative effects on our outlook, mindset, thoughts, and actions. By incorporating play into our routines, we can tap into a sense of joy and spontaneity that revitalizes our spirits and enhances our problem-solving skills. The K.I.S.S. ~ Learn to play again! How would it feel to be a carefree child with the freedom to live? To learn to play again, consider these three practical strategies: 1. Schedule Unstructured Time: Set aside dedicated periods each day for free play without any specific goals or agendas. This could involve engaging in activities like drawing, playing with puzzles, or simply allowing yourself to daydream. Unstructured play encourages creativity and fosters a sense of exploration. 2. Embrace Playful Movement: Explore physical activities that bring out your inner child, such as dancing, hula hooping, or jumping on a trampoline. Physical play not only helps to release endorphins but also improves coordination and flexibility. Remember, it's not about perfection but about embracing the joy of movement. 3. Engage in Social Play: Organize game nights with friends, join a recreational sports team, or participate in community events that involve cooperative play. Social play promotes bonding, communication skills, and a sense of camaraderie that can positively impact your relationships and mental well-being. "Play is not just for children; it is the elixir of youth that nourishes our souls and rejuvenates our spirits." ~ Kristianne Wargo Ultimately, embracing playtime as adults is not just a luxury but a necessity for leading fulfilling and balanced lives. - 8363366 Manage Different and Diverse Perspectives in MarriageConflicts are inevitable in the journey of marriage. However, how couples manage different and diverse perspectives in marriage can make all the difference in maintaining a strong and healthy relationship. Rather than placing blame on their spouse, each spouse can take proactive steps to manage themselves and foster understanding and compromise within the marriage. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co Then, you have to consider that when couples constantly hound each other on what they believe is right without looking at their spouse's position or opinion, it can lead to a breakdown in communication and trust within the marriage. This behavior often stems from a place of ego and a desire to be seen as right or superior, rather than valuing the perspectives and feelings of their partner. This dynamic creates a power struggle within the relationship, where each person is more focused on proving their own point rather than understanding and respecting the other's viewpoint. Furthermore, when couples engage in constant hounding and dismissiveness towards their partner's opinions, it can create a toxic environment of resentment and frustration. Over time, this can erode the emotional connection between spouses, leading to feelings of alienation and isolation within the marriage. It becomes challenging to build a foundation of mutual respect and support when one or both partners are unwilling to listen and consider each other's perspectives. Additionally, whether you're hounding or harassing or just choosing to be difficult, these cycles of wanting to be right can escalate conflicts and disagreements, turning small issues into larger, more contentious battles. This can create a pattern of communication breakdowns and emotional distance, making it difficult for couples to find common ground and work together as a team. Without open and respectful communication, couples may struggle to navigate challenges and differences in a healthy and constructive way, ultimately putting their marriage at risk. If you want to avoid falling into the trap of being a hound dog, which can be detrimental to your marriage, then you want to step up your game. The K.I.S.S. ~ Step up your game! It is essential for couples to practice empathy, active listening, and mutual respect in order to foster a harmonious and supportive relationship built on understanding and cooperation. 1. Consciousness vs. Carelessness Firstly, consciousness refers to being aware of one's thoughts, feelings, and surroundings, like being self-aware. Individuals can better control their reactions during conflicts by recognizing and understanding their triggers and emotional responses. Who wants to be careless? Your lack of attention, awareness, or concern is not going to win you any brownie points. Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, John Gottman, emphasizes the importance of self-awareness, stating, "Taking responsibility for our own emotional reactions can significantly impact how we navigate disagreements with our partners." But again, you have to be willing to look at yourself and engage in self-examination. And that consciousness is going to take the energy of a full-time job. So prepare your mind for the hard work ahead. 2. Compassion vs. Callousness Secondly, cultivating empathy towards their spouse's point of view is crucial. Hello, compassion! Empathy lets you see things from your spouse's perspective, fostering understanding and connection. Research by psychologist Sara Konrath supports this, highlighting that empathy is essential for building strong and meaningful relationships. As Kristianne Wargo, a relationship coach, wisely states, "Empathy is the bridge that connects differences in marriage and paves the way for mutual understanding." And if you want to bat a thousand, then continue your callousness—the lack of compassion, empathy, or sensitivity towards others, which indicates a cold and indifferent attitude that contrasts with the warmth and understanding associated with compassion. 3. Collaborate vs. Compete Lastly, adopting a collaborative mindset is key. Instead of viewing conflicts as a battle to be won, approaching disagreements as opportunities for growth and compromise can lead to more constructive resolutions. Marriage researcher Dr. Sue Johnson affirms this approach, emphasizing that collaboration and teamwork are vital for resolving conflicts in a marriage. Otherwise, you will find yourself keeping score, and then it will be a win-or-lose event every time you come together. Who really wants to play in the Super Bowl every day? Managing differences and diverse perspectives in marriage requires a proactive and introspective approach. By practicing consciousness (self-awareness), compassion (empathy), and collaboration (better together), you'll be able to navigate conflicts with grace and understanding, strengthening your bond with your spouse. - 8373365 Do Worst-Case Scenarios Serve A Purpose For Parents?Parenting is a rollercoaster ride, one with unexpected twists, turns, and loop-de-loops. Keeping it real– Parenting is hard. However, in the midst of it all, do worst-case scenarios serve a purpose for parents? As parents, we often find ourselves teetering on the edge of worst-case scenarios, contemplating the what-ifs and how-tos of numerous situations. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co But do these dire thoughts truly serve a purpose in guiding our parental instincts, or do they merely add unnecessary stress to an already demanding role? In the chaotic world of parenting, optimism and pessimism often collide, each offering its own unique perspective on handling challenging situations. Do we focus on the bright side, ignoring potential pitfalls? Or do we prepare for the worst, readying ourselves for any adversity that may come our way? The answer may not be clear-cut, as every parent navigates the parenting journey in their own unique way. When faced with a potential worst-case scenario, parents can benefit from adopting a balanced approach to ensure their well-being and sanity remain intact. Yet, it takes a deliberate and conscious effort to distinctly know what you are looking at in regard to the situation your child is facing. If you want to make sure you don't lose yourself in fear and anxiety, consider playing the optimistic game of reality. The K.I.S.S. ~ Play the optimistic game of reality! What are some situations you've experienced where you have found yourself spinning out of control in your mind? Constantly failing Getting into trouble Language used Friends or lack of friends Social media addiction Other addictions Withdrawal Through the lifetime of your parenting, you might encounter a few of these: Sleepless nights and establishing routines Dealing with tantrums and behavioral issues Navigating school transitions and academic challenges- Managing sibling rivalry and conflicts Addressing emotional and mental health concerns Handling peer pressure and social dynamics Promoting healthy habits and balanced nutrition Supporting special needs and individual differences Coping with separation anxiety and attachment Balancing work and family responsibilities Teaching values and instilling discipline Guiding through adolescence and identity formation Preparing for milestone events and transitions Handling emergencies and unexpected crises Cultivating independence and life skills Fostering open communication and trust Encouraging creativity and exploration Addressing financial constraints and planning for the future Here are three strategies to help parents view worst-case scenarios as hypothetical without succumbing to overwhelming fear and anxiety: 1. Acknowledge the possibility without fixating on it: Recognize the worst-case scenario as a potential outcome, but do not let it consume your thoughts. By acknowledging its existence without dwelling on it excessively, you can maintain a realistic perspective while focusing on practical solutions. 2. Seek support from trusted sources: Talk to other parents, seek advice from professionals, or join parenting groups to gain insight and perspective on challenging situations. Sharing your concerns with others can provide reassurance and valuable guidance when navigating uncertain territory. 3. Practice self-care and mindfulness: Amidst the chaos of parenting, remember you can't lose yourself if all of what's happening. And that means you need to prioritize your well-being. Engage in activities that bring you joy, practice mindfulness techniques to stay present, and seek moments of relaxation to recharge your energy. Taking care of yourself empowers you to face potential worst-case scenarios with a clear and focused mind. Also, make sure you eat, sleep, and hydrate well during tough times (and good times, too). In a study conducted by the Journal of Child and Family Studies, researchers found that parents who maintained a balanced perspective on worst-case scenarios exhibited lower levels of stress and anxiety compared to those who fixated on negative outcomes. By approaching challenging situations with a realistic yet optimistic mindset, parents can effectively navigate the ups and downs of parenting while safeguarding their mental health. As Kristianne Wargo wisely said, "In the realm of parenting, worst-case scenarios are merely hypothetical detours on the road to knowing and understanding the present truth." Embracing the uncertainties of parenthood with an open heart and a rational mind allows us to weather any storm that comes our way, emerging stronger and more resilient on the other side. - 8393363 Striving For BalanceIn a world where the pursuit of work-life balance seems like the ultimate goal, many experts argue that the idea of balance is merely an illusion. What do you do if striving for balance is not working for you? For most people, it's fun to talk at the cooler about how great life is and how well put together they are. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co But are they really? Is living a balanced life a real thing or a myth? For some, it seems like it's working. But for others, they get lost in the mess of life and don't even know if it's real or not simply because of a lack of time. Tim Grover, a renowned coach who has worked with legendary athletes like Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant, boldly claims, "Athletes like Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant didn't achieve unparalleled success by striving for balance. They understood that excellence requires an unrelenting focus and dedication that goes beyond what is considered balanced." That's where the water gets a little murky. You have to know the definition of what you define as balanced. What does that even mean? Unfortunately, life is not about balance. It's more about how you ebb and flow in your life. The key here lies in embracing the concept of harmony rather than balance. Achieving a life that serves you well doesn't necessarily mean achieving perfect balance in every aspect. It's about your presence in each moment and where your focus is in that moment. So if balance is what you think you are wanting, consider discovering the world of presence. The K.I.S.S. ~ Be present! Here are three actionable steps to help you live a fulfilled life that aligns with your values and priorities, even if it's not perfectly balanced. It's all about harmony and your presence. 1. Prioritize Self-Care Over Perfection Rather than chasing after the elusive ideal of balance, focus on prioritizing self-care and self-compassion. Take the time to assess your needs and boundaries, and don't be afraid to say no to things that drain your energy. Remember, self-care isn't selfish; it's essential for your overall well-being. As Tim Grover aptly puts it, "Avoid the trap of living on autopilot and instead take charge of your destiny. Kobe, like all true champions, understood that living a life on purpose requires intentional choices and a relentless commitment to excellence." 2. Embrace Flexibility and Adaptability In a world that is constantly changing and evolving, rigidly adhering to a strict notion of balance can lead to frustration and burnout. Instead, cultivate a mindset of flexibility and adaptability. Allow yourself to ebb and flow with the natural rhythms of life, adjusting your priorities and commitments as needed. As Kristianne Wargo wisely states, "Life is a beautiful dance of highs and lows, twists and turns. Embrace the fluidity of your journey and remember that growth often occurs in moments of imbalance." 3. Cultivate Meaningful Connections and Community While the idea of balance may imply an equal distribution of time and energy across all areas of your life, true fulfillment often comes from nurturing meaningful relationships and connections. Invest in building a supportive community of friends, family, and mentors who uplift and inspire you. Tim Grover echoes this sentiment, saying, "Surround yourself with a team of mentors, supporters, and like-minded individuals who share your passion for living on purpose. Building a strong support system will fuel your motivation and drive you towards your goals, just as it did for Kobe." In conclusion, living a life that serves you well is not about achieving perfect balance in all areas, but rather about finding harmony and alignment with your values and priorities. Embrace self-care, flexibility, and meaningful connections, and remember that true fulfillment comes from honoring your unique journey, imperfections and all. "Balance works when you are present in your every day, giving yourself the opportunity to be flexible in every way." ~ Kristianne Wargo "Be present. Be incredible. - 8403362 Embrace the Total Eclipse of the HeartSometimes, in the shadows of doubt and darkness, we long for a moment of renewal and transformation that brightens every corner of our being. Embrace the total eclipse of the heart. Yesterday, we witnessed the total solar eclipse, where the moon momentarily totally obscured the sun, casting a veil of darkness. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co How much of our own lives are overshadowed by darkness, by self-doubt and negative thoughts that plague our minds? "I'm not enough." "I'll never amount to anything." "Why me?" Do these phrases sound familiar? Do they hit too close to home, perhaps even bringing tears to your eyes? But amidst the darkness, we must remember – at the end of each eclipse, there is light. What is your light in the darkness? Who is your beacon of hope when all seems lost? As we search for answers, we must remember that even in the darkest moments, there is a glimmer of light waiting to break through. In the midst of cloudy skies and rain, I stood waiting for the solar eclipse to reveal itself. Despite the obstacles, when the time came, the clouds shifted, the wind intensified, and the rain fell harder. It was a reminder that even when we can't see the light, it is there, waiting to shine through. Just as the total solar eclipse was a celestial event beyond our control, so too is the transformation of our hearts not solely our doing, but a divine work. We long for a different life, a new self, a soul on fire – and that journey begins with a total eclipse of the heart. "Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me." (Psalm 51:10) With faith and belief, we can invite God to provide that total eclipse of the heart, to shine His light into the darkest corners of our souls, reminding us that with Him, all things are possible. It's time to embrace the total eclipse of your heart and let the light in. The K.I.S.S. ~ Embrace the total eclipse of the heart! In the cosmic ballet of sun and moon, A dance of shadows, a mystical tune. The solar eclipse, a celestial show, Revealing mysteries we may never know. Just as the moon cloaks the sun's bright light, In life's shadows, we find insight. For in every person, a story unfolds,A tapestry of wonders waiting to be told. Like the eclipse unveils a hidden view, In each soul, there's magic too. A brilliance that shines, obscured at times, But waiting to burst through life's confines. Through the darkness, a glimmer shines, A spark of hope in troubled times. In every heart, a light does gleam, A beacon of strength, a radiant beam. So marvel at the eclipse, marvel at the sight, But remember, within you burns a light. A light that shines uniquely bright, Illuminating your path through day and night. As the universe aligns in perfect grace, Know that within you, greatness takes place. The solar eclipse a mirror to behold,Reflecting the wonders within your soul. "Be present. Be incredible. Be YOU!!!" #Inspiration #CreateYourNow #DailyMotivation 🎥 Karen Kingsbury Productions Presents Someone Like You.movie 🔔 Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women?
