Today’s prayer

Written prayer

Father, Help me be mindful of the words that come out of my mouth. Let them be edifying and uplifting to others that I might have peace in my soul. Help me avoid quarreling with my brothers and sisters in Christ and all those I interact with around me. Increase your wisdom in my life and help me see beyond the moment to the deep issues in their hearts. Give me the grace to forgive others and not judge them for what they say or do that I don’t agree with. Your word tells me that out of the belly flows rivers of living water. My words of judgment and argumentativeness pollute the purity of those waters. When my mouth is filled with anger and resentment I am robbed of my inward peace. Words have creative power and I need to be mindful of what I am speaking into existence. I know that I will reap what I sow, whether good or evil. Harsh words upset my spirit and accomplish nothing of spiritual significance. Teach me to speak the truth in love so I can be satisfied with the outcome of my conversations with others. Thank you for your grace over my words and life. Thank you for teaching me the wisdom of your ways. Fill my mouth with words of grace and love. Let them be edifying to all who hear them. In Jesus name, amen.
