Today’s prayer
Written prayerDear Lord, how glorious it would have been to observe you speaking those powerful creative words and watch this incredible world being formed. Who has that kind of power but you? “Let there be light!” You called forth your light and dispel the darkness. This became the first day of the new earth. Your glorious handiwork was now on full display for all to soon enjoy. You are the light of the world and have placed your glorious light in me. I want to shine your light in this dark world as I go about my fathers business. Lord, teach me to speak powerful words of truth into every situation I am confronted with. Let me call forth the light in all those who walk in darkness so they are no longer blinded from your truth. Help me realize the power and authority you have invested in me to declare those things that are not as though they are. As your child I want to follow in your footsteps and do the things you do. I want to speak life into this world even as you did. Keep negativity and judgment far from my door. Help me not complain and murmur, but be filled with gratitude for your presence and mercy in my life. Help me remember the power of the creative word so I speak life and not death into every situation, in Jesus name, Amen.
