The prayer
Written prayerI seek your will with all my heart lord. It is my heart's desire to follow you wherever you lead. I wait for you to show me what to do and where to go. I wait for your instructions. It is so hard to wait sometimes when I want to know everything yesterday. Waiting is a lesson in itself. It shows trust and patience in you. Waiting makes me feel like life is passing me by and I am eager to move on and do something. The lesson you want me to learn is how to wait until I have a clear direction and word from you. Waiting is not just a passive twiddling of my thumbs but an actively seeking and praying for understanding. It’s learning how to quiet my soul and rest in your love so I can hear your gentle whispers. Once I have your direction you will confirm your will for my life. Until I have that I must wait before I run off ahead of you and run into trouble. If I have confirmation and direction from you I know you will go with me and I can count on you to give me what I need to be successful in where you send me. In Jesus name, amen.
