Global Prayer on Colossians 2:16-17

Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

Colossians 2:16-17

The prayer

Written prayer

Father I thank you that you have forgiven me of all my sins and have washed me clean through the blood of Jesus. I can now come boldly before your throne of grace and stand before you with a clean conscience. If you do not judge me why should I let anyone else judge me? You have set me free from guilt and condemnation. Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty. If I do not feel condemned by what I eat or drink why should I let others impose their judgments on me? When I know you love me, I can refuse to let others bring me into bondage to people pleasing and all the performance expectations that come with that. I am no longer under the legalism of the law that placed a heavy yoke on me. I don’t have to keep the old customs that are lifeless shadows symbolic of the good things to come. I have been liberated to love you Jesus, and to have a personal, intimate, relationship with my heavenly father. What glorious joy you have given me in knowing you. I feel your love like never before and know that there is nothing I can or can’t do that will make you love me any more or any less. Your love is because of who I am and not what I do to earn your love. I belong to you Jesus and will love you forever. In Jesus name, amen.
