Midday Prayer on James 4:6

Dear Lord, pride slips into our hearts so easily, convincing us that we can stand on our own. We confess how often we seek our own glory instead of yours. Humble us, Lord. Remove our arrogance and help us see ourselves rightly before you. Teach us to walk in true humility, remembering that every good thing we have comes from your hand. Let our confidence rest not in ourselves but in your grace. Shape our hearts to reflect your character so that our lives point others to you. Amen.
