The prayer
Written prayerFather, there are times when I am deeply distressed and the battle is so intense that I have to set my face to seek you for your intervention on my behalf. When the enemy is beating down my door and battering my soul I make my appeals known in prayer to you. I humble myself before you with fasting, and put on my mourning clothes and sprinkle my head with ashes. My soul is beside itself and in anguish. I am defenseless without you. I plead for you to have mercy on my situation and me. I call upon the one true living God to step forth and intervene on my behalf. Rescue me from the desperate circumstances I am facing. There is no one like you who can deliver me from the hand of the enemy who has come to destroy me. I earnestly beseech you Lord, with my fervent prayers. I have no one to turn to but my gracious Lord. You are mighty to the pulling down of strongholds. Send your angels to war on my behalf that I may see the defeat of the enemy over my life. You are my merciful father whom I worship and adore. In Jesus name, amen.
