Global Prayer on Ruth 1:9

Lord, help me be as sacrificial as Naomi was to her daughters-in-laws. She released them to find their peace in new homes with new husbands to take care of them. She desired their happiness more than her own. As difficult as it is to let go of those I love, help me release them into the path you have prepared for them; this is true with my children when they go off to school, or close friends and family members when they move away. I want what is best for them despite my immediate loss. Grant me the courage not to fall into despair or self-piety but to bless them and pray for their happiness. Amen.
