Global Prayer on 2 Samuel 1:12

And they mourned, and wept, and fasted until even, for Saul, and for Jonathan his son, and for the people of the LORD, and for the house of Israel; because they were fallen by the sword.

Today’s prayer

Written prayer

Heavenly Father, my tears stream down my face at the loss of my dearest friend. His killing was merciless and against your laws. How can I rest at night as I consider this loss and fear for my own safety? Yet, I know you hear me; you see my tears and hear the beating of my broken heart! You see my hands tremble with fear, sadness, and feeling hopeless. How will I live on without those closest to me when they have died? Yet, I thank you for hearing me and trust that You will deliver me from the pain in my heart. Lord, my Lord, how excellent is your name in all the earth carrying the power to overcome all evil, all sadness, all obstacles in life. You care about me when I am seemingly so insignificant when I call on your name. You always have time for me and consider me with your loving ways. Comfort me Lord as I draw close to you! Please comfort me when my tears fall, when my heart is breaking because your comfort brings hope. You make it possible for me to go on with victory in this life because of your loving kindness, because of your excellent name over all the earth. Lord, how I love you with every fiber of my being. I praise and exalt you in all areas of life, in Jesus name, Amen.
