Midday Prayer on Matthew 5:9

Dear Lord, We come before You seeking the peace that only You can give. Too often, we find ourselves tangled in stubbornness and conflict, unwilling to yield or pursue reconciliation. Like Edom, we sometimes turn away from opportunities for peace, allowing pride to harden our hearts. Forgive us, Lord, for the walls we build and the divisions we create. Heal the places where our hearts have grown cold, and teach us to reflect the unity You desire for Your people. Soften us, so we may be true peacemakers in a world hungry for restoration. Give us courage to pursue reconciliation, even when it feels difficult or uncertain. When we face loss, change, or disappointment, remind us that Your presence endures through every season. Help us cling to the hope found in Your promises. Make us children of peace—gentle in spirit, patient in conflict, and bold in love—so that our lives reflect Your heart to all who encounter us. Amen.
