Today’s prayer
Written prayerLord, you know when the perfect time is to accomplish your highest and noblest purposes. You sent your son, born of a woman, in the time appointed by the father. Through his birth you highlighted his humanity rather than his divinity. He was born under the law, that through his death and resurrection he would break the curse put upon all mankind because of Adam’s disobedience, so we might become the sons and daughters of the one true living God. Thank you Lord, for offering your son as a gift to this world that through his sacrificial death all might be saved. What an incredible gift of love you sent to this dark and lost world. That’s why this season is about love, and peace, and goodwill toward our fellow man. I am reminded of the price this precious child paid for my liberation and the freedom of eternal life. The payment you require for such a great gift is only for me to trust and believe. Trust in your goodness and believe in your truth. That’s all you require and yet it is so hard for so many. Teach me to love you the way you deserve to be loved, with a pure and faithful heart. Help me embrace the fullness of your love. In Jesus name, amen.
