Today’s prayer
Written prayerLord, I did my best to keep your commandments ever since I was young. I went to church, I read the Bible, and prayed daily. What am I missing? What more must I do? Oh, Now, I see, I did all these things out of obligation because they were the right thing to do. Did I want people to think I was a good person more than I wanted to know you? I didn’t understand I could have a personal relationship with you. I took pride in my good character and didn’t think I had to acknowledge my sinful nature. I didn’t see any need for repentance until now. Forgive me for my pride and self-satisfaction. Keep me humble. Amen.
