Today’s prayer
Written prayerLord, I don’t know anyone who would lay down their life for me. Maybe my mother or father but not anyone else. It’s an extraordinary love that is willing to give up its life for a friend. True love is selfless and sacrificial. It wants the best for the loved person. There is no thought of self-gain or manipulation in love. When I consider your love for me I see how far I am from being like you. My love is small and conditional. I am selfish and want others to make me happy. Forgive me, Lord, for being self-serving. It is your love for me that keeps me growing in my love for others. Amen.
