Global Prayer on Psalm 42:11

Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.

Psalm 42:11 · KJV

Today’s prayer

Written prayer

Father, you understand how difficult it is to be strong and stand in faith when the world constantly assaults us with lies, and does everything to destroy our faith. I grow weary and fearful and become depressed. I wonder why the spirit of depression continues to derail my faith. I feel like I am disappointing you when I am weak. Your word warns me that the flesh wars against the spirit. Help me rise up Lord and speak to my soul, which is composed of my mind, my will, and my emotions. This is where the enemy tries to undermine my faith with his falsehoods. I need to choose to declare your truth to my emotions and make up my mind that I am going to choose to believe in your word no matter what I feel in my emotions. There is no reason I should be downcast when I hope in the Lord. I will praise him and speak to myself with the word of God. I will command my soul to praise the lord for he is my deliverer and there is no reason for me to get caught up in circumstances to draw me into despair. My hope is in the God who lifts my countenances and is the God in whom I trust. In Jesus name, amen.
