Today’s prayer
Written prayerDear Lord, it is amazing that you know things before I say a prayer. You know me in the deepest areas of my heart? That hidden place I don’t let anyone see. In some ways that unravels me since it means I cannot hide anything from you. You know the deepest areas of my concerns, hurts, desires, future plans, and of course my sins that I often think I can keep secret from you. In fact, I sometimes keep them secret from myself even when you already know what they are. I don’t mean to Lord, but it happens. Lord, search my heart and stir me to admit the sins and wrong doings I have hidden in my heart? I want to ask you to forgive me. I also need to forgive myself and have you lift these burdens from me. Cause me to be content in all you are doing in and through my life. Don’t let the enemy stir up jealousy and competition when I see others doing better or more than me. Forgive me Lord for comparing myself to others and taking my eyes off of you. In Your love and mercy, Lord, I trust you to do all that is right and good for me. In Jesus name, amen.
