Today’s prayer
Written prayerLord, you are amazing. You created a universe in six days. You found pleasure in your creation and saw that what you did was good. Satisfied with your work you rested on the seventh day and called it holy. Lord, help me be satisfied with the work of my hands so I can rest on your holy day. Because of the lies I have believed it’s hard to find fulfillment in what I do. I always feel I could do better or that what I’ve done is not good enough. It’s hard to accept that what I have done is good enough so it is hard to rest on the Sabbath day. I’m always thinking about what I can do better next week. Forgive me Lord, for not trusting you and being content in what you are doing through me. Help me enjoy my work and believe in my ability to create and grow as I learn through each season of my life. Let your peace wash over me and cause me to rest in the intimacy of your presence as I turn all my fears and insecurities over to you. This is your day and I will keep it holy. I worship you and know you will lift me up into heavenly places with you. You will surround me with your love and heal the wounds of my past, in Jesus name, amen.
