The prayer
Written prayerDearest Father, This beautiful young angel sitting by the side of the empty stone where Jesus had been laid said, “don’t be afraid.” He knew Jesus had been crucified but told them “he is risen! He is not here! Look for yourself!” Indeed, the tomb was empty. What an amazing revelation. The body of the Lord was gone. The linen bandages were carefully unrolled and the cloth that covered his face was folded and laid to the side by itself. But he was not there. He had risen even as He had said. What an astonishing moment. All that Jesus told them about his ministry and purpose had been fulfilled in that moment's time. He is risen! He conquered death and rose in power to ascend to his throne above. His angelic ambassador attested to this glorious truth and they were there to witness the empty tomb and the declaration from the angel He is risen! He lives forever more. It is finished! The chains of sin and death have been destroyed and Christ redeemed his own. The same power that raised Christ from the dead will raise all those who believe in him from death. They will follow him into heaven and live with him forever in his father’s mansions. Hallelujah!! I shout for joy at the good news. He has risen. In Jesus name, amen.
