Global Prayer on Job 42:5

I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee.

Job 42:5 · KJV

Today’s prayer

Written prayer

Yes, Lord, Open my spiritual eyes that I might know you through experience and not just hearsay. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God but it is not until I experience your goodness personally that Faith is embedded in my heart. I can’t truly know you until you reveal yourself to me in the midst of my circumstances. It is then that I begin to see your true greatness, and just how inscrutable you are. I see how small I am in your presence and how foolish I am to try and contend with your wisdom in my life. It’s not until I am up against a challenging situation that I cry out to you and watch you come to my rescue. It is then that I see your pure nature that encompasses me with your love. You calm the storm and provide a way of escape for me. You reveal hidden things that my natural eyes can not see and show me your strong arm that fights on my behalf. I praise your holy name with all that is within me. I repent of ever thinking that you should do things my way. Forgive me lord for my childish pride that thinks I can contend or argue with you. Help me to crawl up on your lap and find shelter in your love. In Jesus name, amen.
