Today’s prayer
Written prayerFather, do I hear a bit of frustration in Moses? He seems to be upset that you have asked him to carry the burden of leading all these people. They may be adults but they are like needy children you want him to care for and bring into the Promised Land. I sense he doesn’t feel it is fair you have given him this responsibility since, after all, they are your children not his. I know how he feels. There have been times in my life when I have been so weary that I want to throw up my hands and just quit. I can’t answer another question or respond to another request. It’s overwhelming to try and meet the needs of so many people who aren’t mature enough in the spirit to feed themselves. They are babies still in need of their mother’s milk. They wine, complain, squabble with each other, and need discipline to teach them how to get along. Caring for a group of young children is a demanding task. But this is what you called Moses to do and you used this demanding task to mature Moses and develop his spirit and leadership qualities in the process. Teach me to surrender to the challenges in front of me Lord. Give me the patience I need to love your children with your grace and mercy. Cover me with your grace, in Jesus name, Amen.
