Today’s prayer
Written prayerFather I hear people say “I would never do that or I would never say that''. It seems they are basing other people's behavior on what they would or would not do. That kind of thinking is arrogant, for only you Lord know what’s in a person's heart and causes them to act a certain way. You are the God of all knowledge and see the end in the beginning. For me to use my life to judge others is exceeding prideful and shows my lack of knowledge of your word. I can discern the actions and attitudes of others only as they line up with your word but if I don’t know your word I have no basis for comparison except my own. I’m a sinner in the process of healing and certainly haven’t been perfected in love. As I stay focused on what you are doing in me I won’t be so quick to judge others. If I realize that you are using others to test my own heart I might change my attitude more quickly. You are the one who I will give an account to for my words and actions. I should be concerned about getting the log out of my own life before going after the speck in my brother's life. Help me lord to continue to grow in grace, in Jesus name, Amen.
