Devotional
When trouble comes, we first need to run to the Lord. That’s what Hezekiah did. He began to pray. He said, Lord, you’re our refuge and strength and very present help in trouble. Even when everything is scary around us, the mountains are carried into the heart of the sea, and the waters are raging, He goes before us. In Psalm 46, Hezekiah teaches us three essential lessons:
Run to the Lord: In trouble, turn to God as Hezekiah did. Seek His refuge and deliverance, for He cares for us amidst life’s storms.
Rely on His strength: Just as God diverted the river to secure Jerusalem's supply, we too should rely on His strength. The Holy Spirit equips us to find peace and joy amid difficulties.
Be still and trust: As Hezekiah trusted God, be still and know He’s in control. Shift your focus from problems to the problem solver – Jesus Christ.
May we learn from Hezekiah’s faith, running to God, relying on His strength, and finding stillness in His grace and goodness.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word. May we tap into the power of the Holy Spirit within us as believers in Jesus. As Your Word says, You can do immeasurably more than we imagine. May we find stillness, knowing You will be exalted. Our problems may seem big, but not to You. In Jesus’s Name, amen.
