1:49 also known as the PLO. A few hours later, he was arrested at the hospital by commandos of the IDF's Duvdevan unit. In a separate incident, the IDF said that a Palestinian
2:01 man attempted to ram troops with his vehicle at the site of the formally evacuated settlement of Ganem, north of Jerusalem. The soldiers opened fire on the vehicle and the driver was fatally
2:13 wounded while a passenger managed to avoid being hit and was taken into custody. Meanwhile, in the eastern Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan, not far from the Jaffa Gate to Jerusalem's old
2:25 city, police reported that a few hours before Yom Kippur, a group of youths that passed through the area came under attack from stone throwing assailants. 1 of the Jewish youth fired
2:37 his pistol into the air to warn the assailants to back off, which they did. Smart that they did that. Friends, I've lived in Israel for nearly 5 decades now, and I can tell you that the events of
2:49 Sunday morning and into the early afternoon are sadly not unusual? The IDF and security forces must always be on extra high alert before, during, and after the high
3:01 holy days. In fact, there is a dark humor joke about that among Israeli security forces, that their necessary state of high alert is what makes these high holy days. Like
3:12 many other Israeli jokes, this 1 isn't very funny, but it is very true. And I will ask you to join me in praying for the security forces who have a very difficult job to do every day of the
3:24 year. On the high holy days like Yom Kippur and Sukkot, which will start next week, there is an added layer of hardship because just at the time when these men and women would most like to be with their own families,
3:36 they must instead be on the front lines confronting the terrorists and criminals who want to do this country harm. Speaking of people who want to do this country harm, the Houthis in Yemen are
3:48 on the warpath, perhaps only partially acting on the Iran's behalf. Now before I tell you what they're in the process of doing to Saudi Arabia, I have to tell you that this group has
4:00 threatened to send ground forces into Israel. I'm not sure how they plan to do that. Since there's a vast desert. They'd have to move such forces through as well as supplies, and they don't even
4:12 have any heavy transport aircraft or trucks to do that with. But a report I read several months ago said that the Mossad, is Israel's intelligence agency, is keeping a close watch
4:24 on the airports in both Amman, Jordan and Cairo, Egypt for signs that the Houthis might be trying to sneak terror commandos through these airports. The analysis said that the Houthis are
4:36 highly motivated to launch attacks on Israel for ideological reasons as they are an extremist jihadi group. But they're also very angry at Israel for launching air strikes on them in
4:48 the spring and summer of 2025, which resulted in many of their senior leaders being taken out. The Houthis haven't forgotten that, and they want some payback, conveniently
4:59 forgetting that these Israeli strikes were themselves payback for all the ballistic missiles the Houthis fired at Israel. This is a recurring theme when it comes to jihadists. They always see
5:11 themselves as the righteous ones, innocent victims of brutal and unprovoked aggression by infidels, which in their world view includes literally anyone who isn't part of their team.
5:23 It is very difficult to understand why so many western liberals have so much sympathy for these guys. But then again, when you look at this situation with spiritual eyes, it's not difficult to
5:34 understand at all. In any case, the Houthis are on the move against their enemies, which include Israel, but also include Saudi Arabia, which is geographically closer and in many
Houthi Attacks on Saudi Arabia and Regional Threats
5:46 ways a much softer target. Last Sunday, the Houthis fired ballistic missiles at the Saudi Arabian capital of Riyadh, and they are threatening to increase their attacks on their northern
5:58 neighbor as well as oil tankers attempting to sail through the Bab el Mandab Straits. This is putting immense pressure on Saudi Arabia in several different ways. To start with, it's
6:10 putting a crimp in their efforts to send around 7000000 barrels of crude oil a day through their east west pipeline to the Red Sea port of Yanbu. Wow. That's amazing. This has been their
6:22 go to method for exporting oil for the last several months since the war against Iran started, and the IRGC has attempted to close the Strait of Hormuz. But the Houthis have
6:33 hit pumping stations on this pipeline recently, forcing it to shut down. They've also threatened to block the Bab al Mandab for tankers. So even if the Saudis managed to get their
6:45 pipelines running again, they'll have to send the tankers north through the Suez Canal and then around Africa before they can finally arrive at their intended destinations in China and India.
6:57 This will drastically cut into the profit margins of Saudi Arabia and also caused the already very high global price of oil to increase even more, causing inflation to
7:09 rise all over the world. China has urged their allies in Tehran to put pressure on the Houthis to allow Saudi oil shipments to resume because Beijing needs that oil.
7:21 However, the Trump administration in the United States has also hinted that it's reconsidering its refusal to launch military strikes on the Houthis. The US Department of State
7:33 also said last Thursday it had approved the potential sale of at least 48 of Lockheed Martin's f 35 Lightning 2 fighter jets to Saudi Arabia. Lockheed Martin said that it
7:44 would also include engines, communications equipment, radar tools, and equipment needed to maintain the aircraft and much more. If all options are exercised, the sale would
7:56 add up to approximately 24300000000 US dollars. This obviously has implications for Israel's qualitative military edge and the overall balance
8:08 of power in the Middle East. But there are a few different caveats which must be addressed here. 1st, Saudi Arabia already has a very large and powerful fleet of American and European
8:20 built combat aircraft. 2nd, it will be several years before Saudi Arabia receives its 1st f 35, and it will probably be close to the middle of the next decade decade before they've
8:32 received enough of them to deploy them in effective numbers in combat. Between now and then, Israel will continue to acquire more f 30 fives, which we already have extensive
8:44 experience with and which our indigenous technology base is already making substantial improvements too. So although I'm no expert, I believe Israel should not worry too much about
8:56 the Saudi air force possibly acquiring f 30 fives. They've had f fifteens, f sixteens, and euro fighters for many years now, and their use of them against, for instance, the Houthis hasn't
9:08 been very impressive. Maybe the Saudi should take some lessons from Israel for a change. 1 group of people who almost certainly isn't impressed or intimidated by the Saudi Air Force,
9:19 whether it has f 30 fives or not, is Iran's IRGC regime. On Sunday, they announced that they are aware of plans by the US military possibly with the support of regional
9:31 actors to resume strikes on the Islamic Republic. They threatened, as they always do, to bring unprecedented force against civilian infrastructure in Saudi Arabia and
9:43 other US allies in the region, possibly including Israel. At this point, it is unclear how many ballistic and cruise missiles and drones they still have that could threaten Israel. But it is likely
9:55 that the soft targets in the gulf, especially watered desalination plants and power stations, would be in grave danger should hostilities resume. Saudi Arabia's leadership is
10:07 reported to be in panic mode, seeking help from their allies in Turkey, Pakistan, and even Egypt against this renewed Houthi offensive as they are also worried about the increasing
10:19 hostility coming from Iranian backed Shiite militias in Iraq. None of these regional heavyweights appear to be eager to jump to Riyadh's defense, although Israel has reportedly
10:31 been providing intelligence support to Saudi Arabia. And as I mentioned a moment ago, president Trump is reportedly reconsidering the possibility of attacking the Houthis. The IDF, the
10:43 Shin Bet, and Israel's civilian emergency response teams are also preparing for the possibility of renewed fighting with Iran even as action against Hamas in Gaza and
Vision for Israel Bomb Shelters
10:55 Hezbollah and Lebanon continues on an almost daily basis. So that's why it's important to stay in tune and watch VFI news every week and maybe more than once a week because we
11:07 will fill you in on the latest of what's happening. Now this is a very dangerous situation, friend, so please be an urgent prayer about it. If you wanna do more than pray, you can visit our website vision for
11:18 israel dot com. So take a moment and please watch this short video, how important it really is to Israel and to all of us.
12:28 Vision for Israel has been installing bomb safety shelters since actually around the fall of 2021. During that year, there was a barrage of rockets that
12:40 came into southern Israel, particularly by the terrorist group known as Hamas, And Israel had to find a way further in order to protect its citizens, its residents
12:52 across the southern part of Israel. And so we sprung into action. We felt like this was a project that we had a personal invitation to fulfill. And it's important
13:04 because when these projectiles, these missiles, these rockets, whatever that is that's, thrown at Israel by its enemies, there is not only the potential for somebody
13:15 being killed instantly, but also there's tremendous collateral damage and and people that get wounded even from shrapnel. And so if you place a safety
13:27 shelter at a bus stop or in front of a high school or community center or a kindergarten or any kind of facility that's publicly accessible, the people can run into
13:39 these shelters. The children can run and find safety in them and be protected from a rocket that lands and shrapnel is scattered, which could be mortally wounding
13:51 people. So it gives not only a physical protection of security, but also an emotional sense of security that you know having a shelter that you can run to in the
14:02 street, outside of a store, somewhere publicly accessible, not just in someone's home, but out in the open gives a sense of security. And I always believe that
14:14 it's important for us to refer to scripture in Psalm 91. The whole chapter talks about, God providing us a shelter. And we have seen amazing,
14:26 amazing deliverances from enemy rockets as a result. And now we've installed over 400 shelters across the southern and northern borders of Israel.
14:38 And they weigh 30000 kilos each, or that's 30 tons. And it's a lot of weight, and rebar and concrete that's been specially mixed. And also with
14:50 a special metal ramp that allows physically impaired people to be able to come up in a walker or a wheelchair on a moment's notice. In many of these areas, residents don't have any
15:02 longer than between 5 seconds to maximum 45 seconds to get into a shelter to be protected. Welcome back, friends. The next
15:13 story comes to us from far away in Ontario, Canada, where a shooting attack on police officers interrupted Yom Kippur services at the Sons of Jacob synagogue in the small town of
Antisemitic Attack on Canadian Synagogue
15:25 Belleville, about 110 miles east of Toronto. Police say a 29 year old man armed with a shotgun opened fire on a police officer stationed outside the synagogue,
15:38 initiating a 3 minute shootout which saw at least 30 shots fired. When the gunfire ended, the attacker and a police officer lay severely wounded, and extensive damage was also done to
15:50 the synagogue building as well as several nearby homes and parked cars. The synagogue's president told the media that there had been a slight delay in the entering the sanctuary
16:01 to begin the evening service, and that just as they were on their way into the room, the shooting started. Naturally, everyone dropped to the ground as bullets began flying through the room, and no
16:13 1 was hit. Thank god. However, if the sanctuary had been full of people at that time as it was planned to happen, there would have likely been several casualties. Belleville police
16:25 deputy chief Sherry Meeks identified the alleged shooter as Sean Ward of the nearby city of Quinta West and the wounded officer as constable Jeff Smith, a 13
16:37 year veteran of the force. Along with other city officials, she condemned the attack saying, quote, antisemitism, hate, and violence have no place in our community. Every
16:49 person deserves to feel safe when attending a place of worship, unquote. Belleville mayor Neil Ellis said an investigation would determine if this was a hate crime, but that so
17:01 far, that's what it looks like to him. He added that, quote, we have a tight knit Jewish community. We don't tolerate this in our city or across the country. Everyone has the right to feel safe, across the country.
17:11 Everyone has the right to feel safe, unquote. Canadian prime minister Mark Carney, to his credit, also condemned the attack, which came months after he admitted that Canada was failing its
17:23 Jewish citizens. It is not only Canada, but all of western civilization which is failing the Jewish people in this season of history. Jewish citizens have made an
17:35 outsized contribution to Canada, the United States, Britain, France, Australia, New Zealand, and every other country where they have lived for hundreds of years. There is no rational
17:46 reason whatsoever for people living in these countries and enjoying the fruit of all these contributions to have animus towards their Jewish neighbors. It is a spiritual issue. I
17:58 keep telling all of you this. As I've said before here at VFI News and in other venues, Jewish people in general and the state of Israel specifically remind people of things they don't wanna be reminded
18:10 of, that the Bible is true and that the God it describes is real. He kept his promise to preserve the Jewish people for thousands of years, and he also kept his promise to restore them to their
18:22 ancestral homeland of Israel and their spiritual center being Jerusalem. If he did that, it must mean he'll keep his promise to judge people for their actions in this life, including
18:34 their decisions to either read the Bible he gave to them so that they could know how to live the way he instructed them to live or not. Many people would rather not think about that. And for most
18:46 of the past 2000 years, people have been persecuting Jews and bible believing Christians because they didn't like what those people reminded them of. They used all kinds of
Rejection of Israel, Political Figures, and Good News
18:58 excuses for doing this, accusing Jews of every crime imaginable, and also accusing bible believing Christians of being out of order for not respecting the authority of the established churches. In
19:10 more recent times, bible believing Christians have been accused of being backward and intolerant and narrow minded and so on and thus worthy of contempt. At the same time, Jews everywhere on this
19:22 planet are accused of being in collusion with the Zionist government of Israel to foment genocide in Gaza and war crimes in general. Many of the people who make these accusations
19:34 have no idea what the word genocide means, and they have never been anywhere near Gaza or Israel. But that doesn't stop them from making accusations. That leads us into our next story, which I wish I
19:45 didn't even have to report on, and it's about a vocal artist who I'd never heard of until recently whose stage name is Macklemore. He shot his mouth off at a recent concert where he
19:57 was the opening act for his longtime friend Ed Sheeran, chanting free Palestine and performing a song he wrote in tribute to anti Israel protesters at Harvard. In response,
20:09 Robert Kraft, the Jewish owner of the New England Patriots and the stadium near Boston, Massachusetts, where Sharon was scheduled to have his next concert, said that Macklemore was not
20:21 welcome there. Charon agreed to drop Macklemore from the act, and in response, all of his other opening acts and even his own backup band members quit on him. Charon was also
20:33 heavily criticized by other artists for making this obvious business decision instead of sticking up for Macklemore who had brought Kraft's rejection on himself. Needless to
20:45 say, those attacking Sharon brought up the entirely irrelevant point about Macklemore's free speech rights, because we live in a world where everyone wants their rights, but no 1 wants
20:56 responsibility or consequences. I could say a lot more about that. But to get back to the main point, Macklemore is a clueless celebrity who has no idea what he's talking about, and I actually think
21:08 most of his fans and supporters know that. But they're supporting him because he's giving them an excuse to reject what God is saying to the human race by restoring Israel and allowing it to prosper.
21:20 To all my Jewish and Israeli friends who are watching this report, please hear what I'm about to say. Macklemore and his fellow travelers are not rejecting you. They're rejecting god, and they're rejecting his
21:32 message to them. They are rejecting and despising the narrative that the Bible presents about a god who created this universe and has the authority to rule over it. Amen.
21:44 If you keep this simple yet profound principle in mind, many things you see happening in this world will make a lot more logical sense. That includes a shooting attack on a synagogue in a small Canadian
21:56 town, and it also includes the election of a catastrophically unqualified mayor in the greatest city in the world, New York, other than Jerusalem, that is. The 34 year old Zoran
22:07 Mamdani, who has no educational or managerial experience which would allow him to get a handle on the job of being CEO of New York, is drowning in problems, some of which he
22:19 inherited from his predecessors, I'll admit, but most of which he created for himself. On Monday, he hosted US president Donald Trump at the mayor's official residence of Gracie Mansion
22:31 to try and get some help. Following the meeting, he spoke with CNN about some of the things he discussed with Trump, including the fact that Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu would be in New York
22:43 this week to address the UN General Assembly. Mamdani told CNN that, quote, when it comes to Benjamin Netanyahu, I have described him as I believe him to be, a
22:55 war criminal and an architect of a horrific genocide of the Palestinian people, unquote. Once again, the obvious question arises. Doesn't Mamdani have enough problems and headaches in
23:07 New York without looking for issues to talk about in a different country on the other side of the world? The answer is that he continues to talk about Israel because his endless expressions
23:19 of hatred and contempt for Israel is 1 of the most important reasons that he was elected to this position, which he is otherwise so hopelessly unqualified to be in.
23:31 Antisemitism and anti Zionism are causes that people have always been ready to get behind. But in this season of history we're in, they come close to canceling out almost every other possible consideration.
23:44 Macklemore knows that. Zorhan Mamdani knows that, and many others who want people to follow them for various reasons also know that. It's time that Jewish people, bible believing
23:56 Christians, and Israelis get our heads around it too. On that note, I'll ask you to pray for prime minister Netanyahu as he's traveling to New York this week. Pray for all of us here in Israel. If
24:08 you want to do more than pray, you can visit our website vision for israel dot com and click on the projects tab where you'll see amazingly how you can bless the Jewish people, the Arab peoples
24:19 of Israel, who so many others want to curse. So please watch this short video about some of these projects.
25:32 During the holidays, most families gather around a full table. But for some families in Israel, the question is simple and painful. How will we afford it this year? With a gift of 130 dollars, you
25:44 provide a holiday grocery card directly into a parent's hands, allowing them to choose the food their household needs with dignity. Not a package, not leftovers, but the freedom to shop for their
25:56 own family. Last year, supporters like you helped provide holiday support to thousands of families across Israel. For over 30 years, Vision for Israel has worked directly with local communities
26:07 and social services to deliver trusted on the ground assistance. Before the holiday begins, cover 1 family, make sure 1 more table is full.
26:22 Welcome back, friends. Shalom to all of you. Let your families, your friends, and your business partners or whatever know about watching VFI News every week. And don't forget to
26:34 sign up for our email newsletter at vision for Israel dot com. So anyhow, we're almost out of time for this week's report, so I'll just quickly tell you that the Trump administration is
26:46 reportedly preparing to announce sweeping new sanctions on the International Criminal Court in the Hague. The ICC has issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and other Israeli
26:58 officials despite the fact that neither Israel or the US is a party to the Rome statute, which is the basis of the ICC's mandate. In response, US secretary of state Marco
27:10 Rubio, I like that guy a lot, declared last month that the Trump administration has been clear. The International Criminal Court is a corrupt and fatally politicized international court that has
27:21 maliciously abused its authority and exceeded its mandate. We will not tolerate its assault on state sovereignty, unquote. I say bravo and amen. It is outrageous
27:33 that this court would try to issue arrest warrants for Israeli leaders in any case, but it's even more absurd since Israel has never agreed to be under the court's jurisdiction. It would be like if the
27:45 Israeli Supreme Court issued an arrest warrant for the mayor of The Hague or The Hague. No 1 would take that seriously and rightfully so. Now I wanna continue the tradition of ending the
27:57 report with some good news. So here it is. Boy George, the very strange vocal artist who has recently been in the news for bucking the cultural trends and supporting Israel, has announced his
28:08 intention to put on a concert in Tel Aviv on November 4th. You can't always pick your heroes, and I have never been a fan of his music so much, but I might even go to this concert. Well, I'll
28:20 definitely pray for this boy, George, and you should too. With that, I'm Barry Siegel, and this has been another edition of VFI News from Israel. Shalom shalom.
