The Rapture and the Worthy One 0:06 Revelation means to reveal. And it's gonna give us a future, an unveiling of what's gonna happen in the world. From the very 1st verse, the revelation of Jesus Christ, all the way to the very0:18 last verse in revelation is about the person of Jesus Christ and what he's going to do in the future as the world as we know it comes to an end. John, who was 1 of Jesus's best friends and closest0:30 followers, he wrote the book of Revelation. You remember they were trying to stand out Christianity. And here John is in the island of Patmos, and God would come to him through the Holy Spirit, lift him up, and give him0:41 a vision of what the future would hold. And he would tell him, write these things down that you see and hear. He wrote in the beginning to the 7 local churches, and he wrote to the churches because they they were0:52 discouraged. Did you know in those days, up to 1000 Christians were dying a day? It wasn't just those local churches, it was to us. Remember 1st Corinthians taught us this, or don't you know that your body is1:04 the temple of the Holy Spirit? Not a temple, but the temple. So those letters were to the local church, but they were to us for us to examine our spiritual lives. Up until this point, we've seen we've talked about the1:15 church over and over and over. And now we don't see the church mentioned until Revelation 22. What happened? They got raptured. John represents us as believers in Jesus Christ, the church that will be raptured.1:27 When the rapture happens, he's coming for his church. That's what God's gonna do with rapture. He's gonna snatch his church, his pride, out of the way, his believers out of the way before he pours out judgment.1:39 So John sees the title deed of the earth. God's plan to redeem all creation sitting in the hand of God, needing to be opened. He said, who is worthy to open the scrolls and loosen the seals?1:51 Billions of believers all centered on 1 person, Jesus Christ. And they're all singing and they all fell down and they're all worshiping him. They were worshiping the lamb who was2:02 worthy. So he comes over and he takes a scroll and a worship service breaks out. Judgment is each seal opens. It's gonna be poured out upon the earth who rejected Jesus. The 1st bit of judgment we're gonna see is where2:14 it's called the 4 horsemen. He's gonna unleash the antichrist. Alright. Well, that's where we pick ourselves up2:26 today in the book of Revelation. And so if you have your Bibles, turn to chapter 6. I always encourage you to bring your Bibles. If you're like me, I'm I'm marking mine all up so I can remember it, when I go back and2:37 begin to look at it. But we're gonna pick up right where we left off. There's a worship service going on in heaven. And the reason the worship service is going on in heaven, all of heaven, all the believers are centered2:49 in on Jesus. And you remember the question was, who is worthy to open up the seals? And you and the scrolls. And you remember, if you don't know what that means, that was the title deed to the3:01 earth. That meant, who's gonna make all this wrong right? Will there ever be a, you know, God to set his a time where God sets his kingdom up on earth and we see all this bad go3:12 away, and he comes and rules. And I believe there's something inside of every believer that yearns for that. And so John is sitting here, and the angel asks the question, who's worthy? And John begins to3:24 weep, because there's no 1 worthy. And there's silence among billions of believers and we are in this passage if you're a believer. This is this is already foretold of what's gonna happen. John's given a glimpse of3:36 it and he's writing it down, what he's seeing and hearing. There's just silence among billions of believers because no one's worthy. No one's worthy to to to finally judge the earth and set up a3:47 righteous kingdom. And they look towards perhaps Peter who was 1 of the closest disciples of Jesus who was crucified upside down. Because he says I'm not worthy to die in the same manner as my Lord. And they3:59 say surely Peter is worthy. And Peter shakes his head that he's not worthy. And they look at Moses who was there who had such faith that the red sea parted and he led the Israelites4:11 out of Egypt and they said it's gotta be Moses who's worthy. And Moses bows his head says I'm not worthy. So they look at Mary, the mother of Jesus. Jesus who came to this virgin birth4:23 miraculously. It says, it's gotta be Mary. And mother Mary says, no, it's not me. And Elijah, and and John, everyone. They look at all the people that the heroes of the faith and none of4:35 them are worthy. And then a saint steps up. I always like to think maybe it's a cascade hills member. A Christian steps ahead and says John, John, John. Don't weep. And he points, he4:47 says, the lion of Judah, he has prevailed to open up the scrolls. And so John begins to turn and look, and what he sees is not a lion. He sees a lamb as4:59 if he had been slain. Now who is that? That's Jesus. Jesus is the only 1 worthy to open the scrolls. And so the book of Revelation is sometimes difficult5:11 to understand, but I just wanna be your guide. And that's what we've been doing just week by week, going through this and making sense of this together. I heard of a pastor a while back. They're doing the same thing5:21 we're doing. He was going to the book of Revelation, and, you know, he got worried about 1 of his members that he said, perhaps they don't know God, and I know that God is coming back soon, and Jesus is coming back soon.5:32 I gotta go witness to them. So they went and drove over to the house, and all the lights are on. All the cars are sitting right there in the garage. He he knew that they were home. He knocked on the door. Nobody5:41 answered. He knocked again. Nobody answered. So he left his business card, and he wrote on there revelation 3 20, And he he left it on there. And then that week at church, the woman comes running up to5:53 him with the same business card and hands him back the card that he left to the door. But he she hands it back to him, and it has on there, up under Revelation, 3 20, Genesis 3 10. And so he takes6:05 it and says, I remember what I wrote Revelation 3 20. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. But he said, but what is Genesis, 3 10? And he looks it up and he says, I heard your voice in the garden and I6:17 was afraid because I was naked. So sometimes the book of Revelation is a little bit difficult for us to understand, but I'm gonna be your guide to the whole thing. So chapter 6, we6:29 come to it. The rapture of the church has already happened. Now what that means is not the buildings disappear, that means that us. The believers in Christ, God has removed us out of the way before he pours his6:40 judgment. And think about how that'll be. There'll be planes in those days that crash without pilots. There'll be planes in those days that are flying without pilots and people freaking out. There'll be,6:52 cars without drivers. There'll be homes empty without family. There'll be parents there with their children gone. Maybe their children have visited our children's ministry and they found7:03 Christ and the parents scoffed at their new found religion and the children are now gone. There'll be utter chaos on the world like we've never seen it before. Confusion. There will be no7:15 idea what has has happened. And meanwhile, it says that we're in chapter 5 that we're up there worshiping. They were up there centered on Jesus and we're singing a song worthy is the lamb.7:27 And now what happens is he takes the scrolls and it says this, that the 24 elders were there. That's us. And it says the 4 living creatures were there. That7:39 represents all of creation. And every time 1 of these creatures, they they would open their mouth and they would invite the wrath of God to be unleashed upon the earth by the breaking of the seals.7:51 And the only 1 worthy to break the seals is Jesus. So sure enough, 1 of these creeper creatures opens their mouth and says, come and see, and they go to break the seal. Now, when he breaks these seals, there's8:03 7 seals. It's what's called the great tribulation. We're gonna get into that. I just we're walking into this week, but trust me, you don't wanna be here. There's not a movie as graphic. There's not a movie out there as8:14 horrifying as what's gonna happen in the great tribulation to those who have openly rejected the son of God. When he takes out his believers, his bride out of the world, he will8:26 pour his wrath upon the earth because he's holy. They've rejected his son and he's also just. It's a part of God that we don't like to talk about often. We love to talk about his mercy, don't we? We8:37 love to talk about his love. We love to talk about his compassion. You won't find many pastors today talking about the God that is just. That he that will never ever ever overlook8:49 sin. And this is what's gonna happen as each of these seal unfold. I hate to break it to you. It's gonna get worse and worse and worse upon the earth that has rejected his son. So this is where we pick up today. Just 29:01 verses we're gonna cover. Let's look at this. It's verse 1 and 2 in chapter 6. He said this is John. He said, now I saw when the lamb opened 1 of the seals. Oh, boy. Here it goes. He said, I heard 1 of the 4The First Seal and the Coming of the Antichrist 9:13 living creatures saying with a loud voice like thunder, come here and see. He tells John, come here and see what's about to happen. Next, we see this. He says, I looked and behold a white horse, and9:25 he who sat on it had a bow and a crown was given to them and he went out conquering and to conquer. Now at 1st, he sees this creature open his mouth and say, come9:37 and see. And then he sees the lamb of God break the seal, and the moment he sees a white horse and a rider with a crown on it, he hears hoof prints. He hears hoof. You ever heard a horse9:48 galloping? We had 2 Great Danes a long time ago. I don't know why we bought 2. We bought 1 and then thought, well, it'd be a different amount of friend. That was very expensive. Our yard looked like absolute junk.9:59 There's trails to the yard. We couldn't grow no grass. These big old horses, like, galloping. You know, I mean, they're huge. Well, we are standing up there with them. You are there too, if you're a believer. And all of10:10 a sudden, when this happens, the seal breaks, and we start hearing the sound of hoofs. Ka doom, ka doom, ka doom. Then we see a white horse, big muscular, and a rider that we don't know wearing a crown, and10:22 he descends upon the earth. And we are there, and we are watching this happen. Now, what happens next is we have to ask this question. Who is this10:34 rider? I mean, who is this rider? Look at that. He's got a white horse. He's going out to conquer. At 1st glance, it looks like Jesus. Doesn't it? I mean, isn't Jesus supposed to come with10:46 a white horse? Isn't Jesus supposed to have a crown? And you would think because in in those days when a general would win a battle or the Roman emperor would return home, he10:58 would always return home on a white horse, And they would come and say, we have conquered. And even if they didn't say that, the people would know because, well, the color white represents victory, represents overcoming.11:10 So who is this rider? Is it Jesus? Nope. It's not Jesus. It's the anti Christ. The anti Christ. The central human figure in the events of the end11:22 times. So today, we were I was actually gonna go a lot further, but I just wanna talk about the antichrist today. I wanna talk about who he is. I wanna talk about what he comes to do, when he will come, how he will come.11:32 And then I wanna talk about why would God allow him to come? Because if you notice the seal was broken and he was sent by God. Interesting, isn't it? So who is it? Well,11:44 number 1, it never tells us the Bible never tells us specifically who he is, but it tells a whole lot about what the antichrist will be like. Now, as we learn further about11:56 the antichrist, I want you to I want you to know something. This is so vital to what we learned today. There's gonna be a lot of details in here. Let us not get tripped up by learning and being so infatuated by all the12:06 details infatuated by all the details about the antichrist that we start pointing out who we think the antichrist is. You know, LaBarron James. I saw him wear a crown 1 time. I could see him on a white hole. You know12:17 what I mean? We'll do that. People will start doing that. But bigger than that, let us not get so caught up in the details of who we think the antichrist is that we miss our12:29 mission in life, which is to reach souls before all this stuff happens. See, the devil loves to work in 3 ways, discouragement, division, and distraction. And he would love nothing12:40 more than for you today to begin to get so infatuated by all these details and signs that you would get off your mission, reaching lost people, people in your lives that are headed to12:52 hell without Jesus, and get sucked into this deal with how can I learn as many details as I can? He would love that. You gotta stay focused. There's a 1 point application for every believer13:04 in the room today. If we know this stuff is coming, and we know our friends, and we know our families will be fooled, then why in the world would we go out with more urgency than ever to try to reach them?13:16 That's our application for a believer. Now, what will the antichrist do? Well his name kind of tells us what he'll do, doesn't it? It means he's anti everything God.13:28 He's anti God. And yet it's interesting when he comes, he's gonna come as an impostor. He's gonna come in as a as a poser. He's gonna come as if he is God, and many will believe he13:40 is. See the MO of the devil is always he tries to replicate the things that God does. Think about it. We just sang that song. I believe in God our Father, Son, the Holy Spirit. Our God is a13:51 triune God. God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit. Think about the antichrist. You've got Satan, the antichrist, the false prophet. He always mimics what14:03 God does, okay? But who he is is this, he's exactly like devil, the devil. The devil is gonna make the antichrist his superman, his super villain on the earth that14:15 carries out his work. You know who the devil is? Bottom line is the devil is a pervert. Now let me teach you what I mean by that. I don't mean just sexual perversion. He's a pervert. You know what a pervert is? A14:27 pervert the word pervert means they pervert the ways that are straight to being crooked. They pervert the things of God. They pervert the truth. That's what the devil is.14:39 See, the devil really isn't even anti religion. He's just anti gospel of Jesus Christ. There's a lot of lot of churches during the end times that are gonna be full. Do you know that? A lot of a lot of places that14:51 never teach the gospel never give a a chance to respond. A lot of people that because of their pride, they've never come forward and given their life to Jesus. There there will be churches in those days that are still15:01 full. But listen, the Antichrist will be just like Satan. He will be a pervert. You remember, he loves to pervert God's word. He's pro religion. He don't care how religious you get. Remember the garden15:13 of Eden? He even told Eve and Adam, he said, hey, eat this fruit and you'll be just like God. You know what Adam, I mean Eve should have done? Eve should have went straight to Adam. Should have went straight to her15:24 spiritual authority and said, hey, I just got told to eat this and we'll be like God. What did God tell you? What did God tell you? What would God say? What did God say? See we we live in a world where15:36 we say, what does culture say? But we rarely ask the question, what does Christ say? And if you'll just simply ask the question throughout your life, what does Christ say? You will live a life in the will of God and on15:46 the straight and narrow. And he's not anti religion, he just perverts what God says. He'll do it by salvation, by works. There's a lot of people that fall into this trap, and that is15:58 a perversion of the gospel of Jesus Christ. You'll hear people say, well, it's Jesus, of course. Yeah. Yeah. It's Jesus. But you always you also gotta do this, this, this, and this, and this.16:10 That's a perversion of the gospel of Jesus Christ. It's not Jesus and then some. There's nothing we can do to add to what Jesus has already done. If there was, then we wouldn't have needed Jesus.16:22 If there was something that we could add to Jesus to make us more righteous, then God wasted sending his only son to die in our place for our sins. You know what Paul says? Paul says when we do this,16:35 we're trampling on the blood of Jesus. That's strong language, isn't it? We're trampling on the blood of Jesus when we begin to add our works to what Jesus has already done. See, salvation by works says it's16:47 me plus Jesus equals salvation. I get to go to heaven. Isn't that great? And it makes us feel a little bit more righteous. And we even point out people that we're better than. Hey, I'm16:59 better than them. They're doing this, this, and this. Well guess what? In the sight of Holy God, your sins are just as bad as their sins. You know, you we we17:11 sometimes we take our finite mind and we categorize sins. This is worse than this, and this is worse than this. Nope. When you're a holy God, if you've ever lied, if you've17:23 ever had a lustful thought, if you've had or done all of it is equal ground. Okay? And so this deal with salvation by works is just a perversion of the gospel because the gospel says17:35 in Ephesians 2 8, for it is by grace you have been saved. You know what grace is? It's just unmerited favor. Undeserved the favor of God that you17:46 cannot deserve. It's by grace. It's by his kindness. It's by his un your his unmerited favor that we've been saved. Then how do we do that? We don't add to it.17:58 We receive it through faith. Through faith in what the person of Jesus has already done. There's a lot of things about the Bible that you might not understand. That18:10 I might not understand. But we receive it by faith. We receive this grace by faith. And look at this. I'll go for a step further. And this is not of yourselves. This is not of yourselves.18:22 It's a gift of God. So this deal of salvation by works is a perversion of the gospel. There's nothing righteous you could do to add to what Jesus has already done. Matter of fact, Jesus, the word of God18:34 says that your best days, your most righteous moments are as of filthy rags. I don't wanna, we're all grown ups here. You know what that word translates into? It translate18:45 into tampons or toiletry. Your best day. You ever tried to go a whole day without sinning? I tried it 1 time. I made it all the way until about 8 o'clock and then I said, man I made, I18:57 didn't sin today. And then I sinned because I had pride. I said, Holly, I ruined it. Your best day. There's nothing you can do to add to it. It. It's a gift from God. His grace,19:09 because he loves you so much, and we receive it by favor. But you see how he perverts that? That's what he does. He always perverts the Word of God, and so will the antichrist. Remember in the very beginning with Adam,19:21 he said, did God really say that? What's he doing? He's trying to pervert the word of God. You see how easily we would fall into this in this day and times because of how easily we're controlled by the19:32 media. So easily fooled by everything. We look at anybody with a little blue check mark, and they're certified truth. Right? It's it's crazy. I mean, everywhere we go, we've got these phones. You ever seen someone bump19:44 into a pole? Look at these phone. I have. Well, they'll bump into you. They'll you can be walking on the street and have to move out of the way because they're just walking with it. I mean, if there's a hole, I feel bad19:53 if there's a big hole in the ground. They're just gonna walk right into it. We're so controlled by the media. We are just set for the antichrist to come, and he would fit right in. I mean, even the Think about it this20:05 way. He's called the prince of the air, the devil is. Why wouldn't he control the airways then? The airways of Facebook and Twitter and, Instagram and the media outlets.20:17 Why wouldn't he do that to go ahead and get our minds set and ready for that? Why wouldn't he program and he does. He programs our the mind of our children. I mean, at an early age, I was reading the other20:29 day a cartoon, show about a cartoon show called Owl House. It looked, you know, fine. Didn't look like nothing dangerous. I said, I wonder what this is about. And I looked on the website and said, it's about a20:41 character. Now this is their words. Who wants to become a witch and has helped to become 1 by a rebellious demon king. Now that's not my opinion. That means deriving pleasure from cruelty, deriving sexual pleasure from emotionally22:03 or physically abusing someone. So we put children in little leather bondage outfits, and we say it's okay for you to be a pedophile. It's okay for you to22:15 be beaten for our sexual pleasure. It's okay for you to be emotionally harmed for our sexual pleasure. What kind of messed up world are we living in?22:27 Correct? But yet, we're gonna market our stuff this way. It's gonna be so easy for the setting to be set for him to come up on the, the agenda and plan and earth, and we won't even notice. I mean, you look at what's24:00 going on in our in our, teenagers music. I mean, think about this now. The antichrist who the devil who will be the devil's worksman. The devil was the worship leader in heaven. He was24:12 worshiping God. So what do you think he's gonna do through our music today? He's gonna worship everything that is not God. He's gonna pervert it. He's gonna pervert it and use music to24:24 turn people away from God. He's still playing music. It's just now on our, you know, iPhones. And we don't really listen to the words. You know, we just like the beat. You know? But if you listen to the words, this24:35 other stuff is unbelievable. If you look around, if you open your eyes, it's it's just unreal. I'm just stating facts. Let's look at Demi Lovato's album cover. She's in bond a bonded suit laying on a cross. Demonic? I I24:47 think so. If you read her lyrics and make your skin crawl, I couldn't even put them up here because we're in a church, but there's I picked out 1 little piece and said, I'll just show this. This is her words, not mine.24:58 It says, like a serpent in the garden, I'm the truth and I'm darkness. I'm an angel and I'm a demon. Just depends on what you're feeling. And our kids going around just listening to this stuff. Because and you Now25:10 who's behind that? I'm just making you aware parents. Who's behind that? The enemy is. The battle's in the mind. It always is. We we play football on the grid25:21 iron. We play baseball on diamond. The the war, when it comes to our spiritual life is always done in the mind. He wants to get into our children's mind, our teenagers as young as he25:33 can. Now, I mean, it don't stop there. There's a, song called Unholy by Sam Smith. It's number 1 on TikTok and number 1 on the billboard. You saw the thing25:45 at the Grammys. It was total satanic. I mean, devils and demons dancing around. We live in a world where we're we're we're just numb to this stuff. We ought to ask,25:57 is this glorifying God or not? Much of the Antichrist system is already in place. I mean, if you look at this, you can't even let's just just talk adult talk for a sec. You can't even have an opinion26:09 against the world's system or you'll be canceled. Do you notice that? We're not even talking about absolute truth here, y'all. Absolute truth is found here. We're talking about opinion. You know how many times I get26:19 cancelled off Facebook? I think I'm the king of getting cancelled. They need to make up their mind. Either cancel me or not. You know? Either way, I'm gonna keep saying the same things. So just make up your26:31 mind. I guess they like the hits I give them. You Every Think about even this. No matter I'm not talking about picking a party, red or blue. How many of y'all heard about Newsmax26:43 getting canceled?
