The Head & The Heart

The "heart" is mentioned over one thousand times in the Bible. As you might assume it refers to a beating chest organ. But your heart to God means way more than it's physical form. To God the heart refers to the real you - the man no one

sees or truly knows except you. The Bible also says that your heart (the real you no one sees) is the focus of God's attention. He does not pay attention to who you say you are, who people think you are, or what kind of stuff you possess. He is looking past all that to one thing - your real thoughts, feelings, passions, and beliefs. In our walks with God it is possible for the "head" to know about God and his love but lack the "heart" knowledge for it to really make a difference. Our outsides look spiritual but our insides remain untransformed. While this struggle is common the Bible says it is unnecessary. Knowing that God loves you is useless if you do not experience it personally. If you struggle with moving God's love from your head to your heart, you are not alone.
