No, you don’t have to pay anything for your salvation but salvation means that now you are a disciple of Jesus and everything you have belongs to your Master. - 219Tyranny: Part 1The history of the world proves that in every period there arises someone who wants to create a global government to gain ultimate power. America was created with the vision of separating this grip of power. In fact, it’s only through God’s providence that our nation was founded, and we need his help to keep it that way. Crisis is a tool to reconcentrate power, and if we're not careful, we will return to where we came from.
- 220ShrewdThere are many Christians who are the “Good Book” smart but they are a failure when it comes to daily life decisions. They have a lot of spiritual knowledge but no relational and financial wisdom. Are you the wise steward or a foolish one? Have you been a good steward of what God has blessed you with? How are your finances? How do you see money? Do you use money or love money? Do you have the true riches in Christ? Are you saved?
- 221ObedientGod repeatedly commands us in his word to obey him. He is our Heavenly Father who wants our total, immediate, and cheerful obedience. Partial, delayed, and disgruntled obedience is also disobedience. Is there disobedience in your life? Is God your Heavenly Father? Only through Christ you can be his child.
- 222JustifiedWe compare ourselves to the weaknesses of others in order to make ourselves look better than we are. God does not borrow our scales to measure us. He has his own standard of measurement and he measures us individually. If you are quick to claim that you are the tax collector, do you give yourself a pass because of “what you’ve been through”? Are you saved? Pharisee or tax collector, both have to come to Christ.
- 223DesperateGod eagerly hears the prayers of desperation by his children. We as believers should eagerly seek and expect the help of our Heavenly Father and trust him that he will answer in his way and his timing. Do you have a desperate need in your life today? Are you praying to God for it? Even more so, are you expecting an answer from God? Is he your Heavenly Father? Have you prayed to receive Christ as your Savior?
- 224ConsequenceThere are two kinds of rich people: the benevolent rich and the oppressive rich. The rich man in this parable was oppressive and an unrepentant sinner. He did not show mercy to Lazarus, poor man, yet begged for mercy on the other side. This parable reminds us all to live our lives in view of the judgment that is coming. This is one message that you cannot afford to miss!
- 225ForgivenSin is a debt that we owe to a holy God that we can never repay. Jesus came and paid the debt with his own life. Our response now should be gratefulness manifested in love and obedience to him. The title of our message today is "Forgiven" in our series on the Parables of Jesus. Do you see yourself as the one who owed much or do you see yourself as the one who owed little? Do you see yourself as a “wretch” in need of God’s Amazing Grace or do you see yourself as the “not so bad after all”? Are you saved?
- 226ProdigalWe are taking a look at one of the most iconic parables in Scripture: the parable of the prodigal son. Typically, people focus on the son who loses his way and squanders his inheritance, but there are two sons in this story. Each son communicates important truths that should give us pause and cause us to examine our hearts. Parables are like mirrors. They expose to us who we are. Who are you in this parable? Are you the lost son? Are you one of the onlookers? Are you seeking the lost? Are you rejoicing over their salvation?
- 227ConnectionChrist is the head of the body, the church. Each believer in the church body is connected to another believer, and together we work to glorify our Heavenly Father. A believer cannot be disconnected with the body and still expect to be connected to the head, Christ. This is an important mark of every true disciple.
- 228FurnaceJesus told this parable immediately following the parable of the sower, using similar language to communicate powerful truths to His audience. With this parable, Jesus challenged His listeners to think critically about their eternal destinations and to face the reality of hell. How do you see God’s delay in judgment? Are you confusing his compassion for complacency? Are you saved?
- 229FruitfulJesus used the analogy of a farmer sowing seeds to describe his preaching of the gospel. The seed, the word of the kingdom, falls on every heart, but it is the nature of the soil, the nature of the heart, that decides whether or not it will bear fruit. That’s the title of our message today – “Fruitful.”
- 230LeviathanDinosaurs have been used to justify evolution, when, in reality, they testify to God’s marvelous creation. Learning about the power and might of dinosaurs should lead us to bow before our sovereign God and fall on our faces in repentance. They are God’s answer to our doubts in suffering.
- 231Heart ExamIf we want to understand the things of God, we must first examine our hearts and make sure that we have not become hardened to God’s truth. What is the condition of your heart? How do you see the things of God? Are you saved? If you enjoy this message be sure to share it with others!
- 232TracesHuman beings may willfully forget the historicity of the Great Flood, but the traces of God’s judgment and grace have been permanently etched over the landscape of the earth. We often say, “seeing is believing”, but here you must believe it to see it. As Jesus said, “If we refuse to praise him, even the rocks will cry out!”
- 233LegendsThe global flood left a lasting impression on the memory of the ancient peoples. Even though their recollections are distorted, they testify to the truth of the biblical account of God’s judgment on a sinful world in a not-so-distant past. It also testifies to his grace in saving Noah and his family along with all the animals on the ark.
- 234HumilityAll of us tend to think that we are humble and someone else is proud when in reality, we all have the same spirit of pride. There’s only one who is truly humble and his name is Jesus. In fact, he humbled himself to the point of death, even the death of the cross. He is our model and source of true humility. Are you a humble person? Do you have the spirit and the heart of Christ? Have you come in humility before him and received him as your Savior and King?
- 235BondservantWe’re in our series called MIND(RE)SET from Philippians 2. We are learning what it means to have the mind of Christ. In today’s message, we’re going to focus on what it means to be a “bondservant.” Do you understand what Jesus has done for you? He became a slave so that we could become sons and daughters of God. Do you know him? Are you saved?
- 236ReckoningOur caricatures of God create a god who makes us feel better. To the contrary, the Scriptures reveal the true portrait of God who is both holy and loving. His holiness brings his wrath on sin, and his love brings his grace to us. Ultimately, the true measure of God’s judgment and redemption is Jesus Christ.
- 237DomainAs believers, we should remain alert to the non-stop spiritual warfare around us; but we need to remember that we are not called to fight the evil powers; neither are we to live in fear. Instead, we are to hide behind Christ and his Word, and remember that he that is in us is greater than he that is in the world.
- 238CompanyLife is a journey. It’s not the quantity of your life or even the quality of your life that matters; ultimately, it's the company you keep along life’s journey that counts. When God is your companion in life’s journey, you may have to face some tough challenges, but he promises to lead you home.
- 239WandererAll of us have been wandering away from God since the beginning of time. It is God’s grace and mercy that keeps pursuing us. In fact, Jesus came to seek and to save that which was lost, and he wants to take us to the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
- 240Man of Promise: KingdomThroughout the journey towards the man of promise, the Enemy offered some alluring substitutes. Recognizing the pitfalls and choosing the true plan of God is the only way to go. Only those who keep their eye on the bigger plan of God can make it.
