Liver's Amazing Detox System: Phase 1 & 2 0:01 But, you know, the most common cause of liver failure or cirrhosis is number 1, you said it, it's alcohol. Okay. Number 2 is viral hepatitis, hepatitis b and c. But number 30:13 is fatty liver or nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, which progresses to NASH or nonalcoholic steatohepatitis, which is inflammatory fatty0:24 liver with elevated liver functions, and it has elevated c reactive protein.0:34 Hey. This is Kyle Colbert, and I'm here with my dad, doctor Don Colbert, my mom, Mary. And this is doctor Colbert's broadcast, and we're in a new studio, guys. Right.0:42 I like it.0:42 This is incredible. Thanks to Life today and the whole team here putting this together. It's it's amazing. So Beautiful.0:49 Absolutely.0:49 And today, we are gonna be talking about a secret organ. It's not really a secret, but I like to call it a secret. It's the That's the most overworked organ in the body. And underrepresented. I mean Undernourished.1:01 Undernourished. Tell us how to nourish this particular organ that1:05 Well, this is the liver. This is the liver. And, you know, what's amazing about the liver, it has over 500 duties it's supposed to perform. But because we're exposed to so many toxins in the food and the water and the air, it's being overburdened and people don't know how to detoxify. They say they can take 1 little pill and detoxify it.1:16
1:25 I wanna encourage anybody that is watching this program that you know somebody who is in liver failure, they have liver issues going on, this is a must program.
1:37 You want them to watch this. You're gonna learn so much. My husband has been so Don has been so excited about this program that literally for the last 2 weeks, he has been in-depth study
1:49 and research. You guys have no idea what
1:53 we're going to do. I've tried to make a very complicated subject very simple so y'all can get it.
1:59 Yes.
1:59 And so 1st of all, let me just explain what we're up against. 25 percent of Americans now today in the US have a fatty liver, and a fatty liver sets the stage for again, the
2:11 liver can't perform its duties, and the fatty liver is mainly due to too much sugar and processed carbohydrate intake. Sugar, sugar, sugar, and the beverages, and the foods, and the desserts,
2:23 and, the Alcohol? Well, alcohol, yes. But that's but that's a different story. You always get me sidetracked. Okay. But the sugars in processed foods, highly processed food, the whites, the white bread, the
2:35 white rice, all the white foods convert to sugar, and it's making the liver fatty. But, you know, the most common cause of liver failure or cirrhosis is number 1, you said it, it's alcohol. Okay.
2:47 Number 2 is viral hepatitis, hepatitis b and c. But number 3 is fatty liver or nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, which progresses to NASH
2:59 or nonalcoholic steatohepatitis, which is inflammatory fatty liver with elevated liver functions, and it has elevated c reactive protein.
3:10 So NASH is an acronym.
3:12 N a n a s h. And NASH out of 4
3:15 have a fatty liver, and this is predominantly caused because of diet? Diet. Just diet.
3:19 Main cause of diet. Coke, too much sugar, sodas, sweet coffees, fruit drinks, orange juice, apple juice, grape juice, smoothies, the and then the whites. All the white food
3:31 like the white bread, the white rice, you know, the pasta, the bagels, the pretzels, the chips. Pasta. All of that converts to sugar.
3:39 Now, Donna, are you interested in younger people?
3:41 Yes. 5 to 10 percent of children have fatty liver.
3:45 But why is it important? I mean, what is we liver is a detoxifier, but why can we go without a liver?
3:51 No. No. You can't. You can't live without a liver. Without a liver? Listen. I just had a patient a week ago that came in that was coming into me, but they called and they canceled the visit because they said, sorry, he's
4:01 in the hospital. See, he had jaundice in the eyes, the jaundice eyes. And so he went to the hospital and went to the ER and they checked him and all, and they they did all these imaging studies. They said, sorry. You
4:13 have cirrhosis. We gotta put you on the transplant list. And so then they just Terrifying you. And so, 2 weeks later, he came to see me, and he still has jaundice. He they only had, only has a few
4:25 months to live according to them because he has liver failure. And he he developed all this ascites because when the liver is failing, fluid backs up, and he had this belly that he developed
4:37 overnight. He gained, like, 12 to 15 for an hour. So for him,
4:40 it came on suddenly. Suddenly. No warning.
4:43 No warning. Wow. And he says, I was just tired, and all of a sudden, he develops this ascitic fluid or his belly fills up with fluid. Then his legs, start to fill up. Then I've seen him gain 50 to
4:54 70 pounds or more of fluid within a few days when the liver fails.
4:59 How would they gain that much fluid?
5:01 What happens when the liver is not functioning, the body literally swells up and it fails. The liver backs up because it can't detoxify.
5:08 So you put like a toad frog.
5:10 Like a toad frog. Like a bullfrog.
5:12 A bullfrog.
5:13 But, what happens again is we can once you understand how this works, we can prevent this. Now, what I did is I put him on IV glutathione 3 times a week, 3000 milligrams IV,
5:25 push out of IV center. I also put him on a nano glutathione, 12 squirts in the mouth twice a day, every day. And as well as I put him on high protein diet, lots
5:37 of cruciferous veggies, like, especially the broccoli, the brussel sprouts, the cauliflower, the kale, things like that. And and I put him on our green supreme food, which is real high in these cruciferous veggies.
5:49 I even put broccoli sprouts and, put cauliflower sprouts in there. I have 10 to 100 times more sulforaphanes, ingredients that are called glucosinolates that increase
6:01 sulfonation pathways that literally, they fuel phase 1 of, detox and phase 2 detox in the liver.
6:08 Okay. So, yeah, explain that. Explain why this was so important to put this on.
6:12 And then, yeah, this is critical because phase 1 detox, our bodies are fearfully and wonderfully made as Psalms 1 39 tells us. Psalms 1 39 14. What God has designed
6:24 is the most amazing detox mechanism for the body, for the liver to detox all of these toxins were exposed to daily. We're exposed to hundreds, if not thousands of toxins mainly in
6:36 our food and mainly in our water. So 1st thing I tell people do, get a reverse osmosis filter. Filter your water It's critical to filter it. And then start eating foods that are more that are organic.
6:48 And, we're gonna we're gonna go through toxins on the next show and how to minimize toxins.
6:53 Well, tell me more about this patient, though. I wanna hear more. So is how's he doing
6:57 right now? I just saw him last week. And, again, they left so pumped because I simply put him on a few key things that are going to start to detox his liver. Have you heard anything?
7:08 Or any
7:09 Well, and also putting on high, oleocanthalolive. We're gonna monitor We're monitoring. We will report We are monitoring, so I'm gonna be reporting back. Yeah. But Okay.
7:17 Because I know the people will wanna know how soon it is.
7:19 Let let me explain. The liver goes through processes. It goes through fatty liver, then it goes through fibrosis, then it goes through cirrhosis. But some of those liver cells were in the process of just fatty,
7:31 fibrotic, and cirrhotic. So some of those can be transformed back into normal liver cells. So that's what I'm hoping salvage with those in there. Exactly. And the liver is amazingly
7:43 resilient. But once it's all scarred down, that's it. It's just transplant is all. But we wanna talk about phase 1 and phase 2 detoxification. Because once you support these key phases of
7:55 detoxification, then the liver can literally, restore itself.
7:59 Okay. So let's make this kinda recap real quick. Number 1, if you've been given the diagnosis and you've recently heard and you may be on a transplant list, watch this
8:11 program because there is hope. We you might be able to save your liver.
8:16 You may be able.
8:17 You may be able If
8:18 you do.
8:18 To do what he says to do. And to me,
8:20 that's fine. Limit your fluid. You can't drink a lot of water if you're on the transplant list. Like this fella, the most he could drink was like a quart of water a day. And so again, we have to really optimize the diet
8:31 and put in this. So we're gonna talk about
8:34 phase 1. Yeah. Now Don, I have seen other patients that
8:37 have come
8:37 in that are in liver failure, and you've saved them.
8:40 Right. We have. The earlier we catch it, the better it is. I have witnessed it. If they're if they're way down the road, I can't do anything. Right. So it's critical to get in there ASAP. Now again, he's jaundice, which
8:52 means the liver's screaming. But his bilirubin was around 5, it wasn't at least 10 or 15 things. Explain what a bilirubin is. Bilirubin is simply what happens is when the bowel when the
Bile Flow, Fiber & Keto Diet for Complete Detox
9:04 liver's compromised and scarred, the higher the bilirubin, which is the pigment of the breakdown of hemoglobin, is in the bilirubin. So it backs up. Can't get rid of the bilirubin because the liver's so compromised.
9:16 Yeah. It makes the
9:16 It can detoxify it.
9:18 Okay. So
9:18 that's the key. The phase 1
9:19 and phase 2 Higher the number, the worse. And you're
9:21 He was at 5.
9:22 Okay. And you want it around 2 or 1?
9:25 Well, 1.4 or less is or 1.3 or less is ideal, and he was up to 5, which is majorly common.
9:31 So that's a good that's good
9:32 for him to hear. Talking about prevention. Getting ahead of it before you get to that 2, 3, 4 bill of birth. So Now
9:40 let's talk about the superstars of the liver detoxification. It literally is dependent on this the superstar enzymes called the cytochrome p 4 50 of the
9:51 end of the liver. These are like superheroes of the liver. What they do is they they start to detoxify and, these intermediates, these toxic intermediates, and they
10:03 convert them to, more, water soluble toxins, which are more water soluble substance. But what they do is they use oxidation, they add oxygen,
10:15 or they use hydrolysis, which makes it more water soluble, or reduction, which removes the oxygen. In order to convert the toxin into a more a less toxic substance that is
10:27 more water soluble.
10:28 Now the The liver does that.
10:30 Yeah. The liver does it through these powerful enzymes. Now for these enzymes to work optimally, you need cruciferous veggies. These are the keys. You need the broccoli.
10:42 You need the cauliflower, the brussel sprouts, the cabbage, the kale, the watercress. Oh. And especially the sprouts, which are 10 to 100 times more powerful because they literally induce
10:54 this phase 1 detoxification.
10:56 Contain the enzymes, but they contain the raw materials that help your body produce those enzymes. Right. They help literally
11:03 That's why our greens is so important for people who are veggie haters. It's okay. You could do the greens. And that's
11:09 Well, no. These greens are full of these cruciferous veggies.
11:12 That's awesome.
11:13 And they induce and they balance these cytochrome p 4 50 enzymes. They literally provide these superstar navy seal enzymes of the liver with the most powerful
11:25 fuel so they can perform their duties. That's the best way to put it. Yeah. So you are giving, these navy seals everything they need to be to be super super strong. Gotcha. Okay. And super fast and
11:37 super heart strong lighters.
11:38 So so cruciferous veggies as we grew up and her mom told us to eat our veggies on the plate. Now we know why.
11:44 Yeah. And these are critical to have every day because they are fueling phase 1.
11:48 0, no. Say that again. Every day.
11:50 Every day. Not just as you, once a week. Like, a lot of people just get a little broccoli once a week. Yeah. And people look at me and say, why do you eat broccoli every day? Broccoli is so good for you. Why do you take
12:00 your greens every day? Because it's chock full of these super foods that are cruciferous veggies that fuel phase 1 detox. That's the key.
12:08 That can be buttery.
12:09 And what happens what happens with most people what happens with most people with phase 1 is they eat way too too little cruciferous veggies and they
12:21 speed up phase 1 detox with caffeine and alcohol. Ah. When you speed up phase 1, you create way too many toxic intermediates that can literally create
12:32 more free radicals. It's like a fire that's going on in the liver. And so you have to have these powerful fire extinguishers to put the fire out because people are gonna drink caffeine. The more caffeine
12:44 you drink, the more you push phase 1 to make more toxic intermene Tell
12:49 us about phase 1. What is phase 1 detoxification in the liver?
12:52 Phase 1 is when you simply, your body, through these enzymes, converts these toxins into more water soluble, toxins from fats. They take fat soluble toxins, convert them into more
13:04 water soluble toxins so they can be excreted more toxic.
13:08 Less toxic.
13:09 But not so fast. Okay. They can actually if you push them too fast, you can get more toxins form. And so if you take a lot of caffeine or a lot of alcohol, you're pushing more
13:21 toxic intermediates, which create more in, more fire in the in the hole like
13:26 it's It creates a spike.
13:27 More free radicals. What if I More free radicals and more damage to the liver. That's why you gotta balance it with antioxidants. Now we gotta talk about antioxidants. You gotta have certain antioxidant foods and
13:38 supplements like glutathione. It is the master antioxidant for the liver and the master detoxifier.
13:44 So you recommend IV glutathione?
13:46 No. No. No. If they're liver failure. But 99 percent 99.9 percent are not a little liver Okay.
13:53 So that's
13:54 just a some glutathione a day or they can take foods that boost glutathione, like your cruciferous veggies. They boost glutathione. But glutathione is composed of 3 amino acids. The rate limiting step is cysteine.
14:05 Cysteine, glycine, glutamine. Or you can do use our nano glutathione and that has
14:10 it right there. Because you can Glutathione itself
14:13 is a large molecule. Exactly. But this is nano sized so you can literally absorb much of it right in the buccal
14:19 mucosa of the mouth. So sometimes people take which has Right.
14:21 And then they say that's that's exactly why we have our liver gallbladder cleanse. It has NAC, it has beet root, because not only do you have to, support phase 1 and phase 2, but you gotta
14:33 support bowel flow. Because what happens if you don't support bile flow, the bile is what excretes the toxins out of the liver into the intestines and then out in the colon. Then you gotta bind it with fiber or it's
14:45 gonna be reabsorbed. So you have to increase bile flow with water, with our liver gallbladder cleanse that has wonderful beet root extract, artichoke that increases bile flow, and then olive oil increases bile
14:57 flow, avocado oil. But high oleocanthal olive oil literally provides the antioxidant, 1 of the most powerful antioxidants in the world that protects the liver from all that free radical activity going
15:09 on in phase 1. Okay.
15:10 So in phase 1 detoxification, once you've converted the fat soluble toxins to water soluble toxins To more water water more water soluble toxins.
15:18 Then you gotta put the fire out. There's a fire in the hole. Fire in the belly. Okay. Okay.
15:22 Fire in the liver. Putting the fire out.
15:24 With the anti and the anti some foods.
15:26 Now have we gone to these 2?
15:28 No. No. The most important, anti some foods. Do you know what they are? Real quick. Berries berries. Oh, berries. Berries. Cruciferous veggies. Yes. And then citrus and apples. I know you
15:40 love apples.
15:41 Citrus, like orange citrus.
15:42 Oranges, lemons, limes. You wonder why I'm always squeezing lemons and limes in my water?
15:47 Love lemons.
15:47 Full of antioxidant. Puts the fire out. Puts the fire out of the liver.
15:51 It seems like I'm eating lemon.
15:53 I know. I do. I get a
15:54 ton of lemon shortage. But these
15:55 These are these are flavonoids and also cruciferous veggies. Full of these powerful antioxidants, olive oil, especially hyphenolic or oleocanthal olive oil. And then, EGCGShow more
