- 10813121 The Meltdown is RealWhen two come together madly in love, it's hard to imagine that anger would show its face. How can anything come from such sweet kindness and enamored crushes between two in love? The meltdown is real. Marriage is a journey filled with love, growth, and shared experiences. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co But every marriage encounters storms—those fierce gusts of anger that shake the very core of your relationship. The sharp words spoken in the heat of the moment, the silent battles waged, and the emotional wreckage left behind can leave you as a couple feeling adrift and disheartened. But take heart, for this is a road well-traveled, a struggle shared by countless others. Now, that doesn't mean that it's an easy road to travel. It's just one that is traveled more often than not. In fact, you don't see this stuff written about in many marriage books. When you learn how to handle anger in a healthy and constructive manner, it creates a strong foundation for a fulfilling marriage to prosper. So how do you deal with the meltdown? Slow and steady wins the race. The K.I.S.S. ~ Slow and steady wins the race! 1. Recognize and Understand Anger: Anger is a natural human emotion and a reaction to perceived threats, disappointments, or frustrations. The first step in handling anger effectively is to recognize and acknowledge its presence. By understanding the triggers and identifying the underlying emotions that fuel anger, couples can gain insight into their own patterns of anger and begin to address them. Action Steps: - Self-reflection: Take time to reflect on personal triggers and patterns of anger. This self-awareness will enable you to communicate your feelings and needs more effectively. - Seek feedback: Engage in open and honest conversations with your spouse about how each of you experiences and expresses anger. This mutual understanding will foster empathy and build a foundation of trust. 2. Practice Healthy Communication: One of the most crucial aspects of managing anger in marriage is maintaining open and respectful communication. When anger flares, it is essential for both partners to express their emotions and concerns in a way that encourages understanding and resolution rather than escalating the conflict. Action Steps: - Choose the right time and place: Find a suitable moment to discuss sensitive topics. It is important to ensure both partners are in a calm state of mind and have sufficient time and privacy. - Use "I" statements: Express your feelings and needs using "I" statements rather than resorting to blame or criticism. This approach encourages understanding and allows your partner to respond with empathy. - Active listening: Practice active listening by fully engaging with your partner's perspective. Summarize their thoughts and feelings to demonstrate that you genuinely understand their point of view. 3. Find Healthy Outlets for Anger: While it is essential to express anger constructively, it is equally important to have healthy outlets for releasing negative emotions. Engaging in activities that promote understanding, stress relief, and emotional well-being can help dissipate anger and create a more positive atmosphere within the marriage. Action Steps: - Physical exercise: Engage in regular physical activity together or individually. Exercise releases endorphins and helps to reduce stress, allowing for better emotional regulation. - Engage in hobbies: Encourage each other to pursue individual hobbies or shared interests. These activities can serve as outlets for stress and provide a sense of fulfillment. - Seek professional help if needed: If anger is consistently causing significant distress or leading to harmful behaviors, seeking the guidance of a professional therapist or counselor can be beneficial. A trained professional can help facilitate healthy communication and provide tools to manage anger more effectively. The meltdowns are going to come. But you don't have to let it control you. Navigate the storms of emotions and feelings by staying grounded in strategies that help you calm the waters. "Be present. Be incredible. - 10823120 Nurture IndividualityWith the new school year fast approaching, it's important for parents to not only help their children adapt to the changes academically, but also to support their emotional and social well-being. Nurture their individuality. What this really means is that you're helping them be who they are feeling. And being able to do it where they aren't wrecking their family, or even themselves. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co This takes a lot of patience for us parents. Because what we say can be taken the wrong way, and then we are dealing with some hurt feelings that we induced. Do we ever get a break? No! So we just keep moving forward. One significant aspect of a child's development is nurturing their individuality – allowing them to embrace and express their true selves. As seasons change, like going to a new school or changing grades, it really takes a toll on what the kiddos are feeling. So we gotta keep this all in mind as we transition from summer to the new school year. The K.I.S.S. ~ Nurture individuality! This comes with taking each child, not comparing, and focusing on what they are needing as who they are. 1. Encourage Self-Expression: One crucial factor in allowing children to be themselves is encouraging self-expression. Provide them with a safe and non-judgmental environment where they can freely express their thoughts, emotions, and ideas. Actively listen to their opinions and encourage open dialogue, as this will not only build their confidence, but also enable them to develop their own unique personality. Encourage creative activities such as drawing, writing, dance, theatre, or role-playing, which allow them to explore their imagination and interests. 2. Foster a Growth Mindset: Transitioning to a new school setting or grade can be intimidating and challenging for children. As parents, we can help our kids by fostering a growth mindset. Teach them that their abilities and skills can be developed through effort and dedication. Encourage them to see setbacks and failures not as roadblocks but as opportunities to learn and grow. By instilling this mindset, children will be more open-minded, resilient, and willing to embrace new experiences and challenges in the classroom and beyond. 3. Emphasize Authenticity and Embrace Differences: In a world that often promotes conformity, it is vital for parents to emphasize the importance of authenticity and embrace differences. Remind your child that being true to oneself is more important than fitting into societal expectations. Encourage them to embrace their unique qualities and talents, and teach them to respect and appreciate the differences in others as well. By nurturing their self-esteem and self-acceptance, you will help them build long-lasting confidence and resilience. As parents, one of the greatest gifts we can give to our children is the freedom to be themselves. By implementing these three strategies, parents can effectively support their child's individuality and help them navigate the transition into a new school year with confidence and authenticity. Encouraging self-expression, fostering a growth mindset, and celebrating differences will empower our children to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally, promoting their overall well-being and happiness. Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co Disappointment can often lead to a sense of self-doubt, causing us to question our abilities and worth. However, it is crucial to acknowledge that external circumstances do not define your value as an individual. You are deserving of love, respect, and success. - 10843118 Thrive in the Smaller ThingsWhen you are looking to live your best self, doing too much might not be what you need right now. Thrive in the smaller things that build consistency. As Deepak Chopra said, "You must find the place inside yourself where nothing is impossible." Truly, nothing is impossible, and you can live your thriving life; however, you cannot let yourself be bamboozled into doing stuff that is too over the top or extreme. Life is too short. Do what works now to build consistency. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co Mitophagy is the essential process of breaking down and removing old and damaged mitochondria, allowing your brain and body to function at their best and maintain overall health. It's a continuous journey that can be influenced by positive practices such as proper rest, physical activity, nourishing your body with nutritious foods, and taking care of your spiritual and emotional well-being. Imagine building your mitochondrial health and, in return, witnessing a life of thriving. You can even think of mitophagy as a metaphor for change - intentionally breaking down and replacing bad habits with good ones to enhance our overall health. This is where thriving practices come into play. A lot of people think they have to do something grandiose in order to impact their health. But take the small things and do them consistently, building a thriving life. The K.I.S.S. ~ Build a thriving life in the smaller things! Ready to explore a few tactics that will help you consistently thrive in your life? 1. Take a full day to unplug: In this digital age, it's important to step away from constant distractions. Plan ahead and disconnect from phone calls, messages, and news for a day. Spend time in nature, go for a walk, or embark on a day-long hike. Embrace being fully unplugged and experience the psychological stress relief, reconnection with yourself, and appreciation of your surroundings. Feel refreshed and rejuvenated. 2. Sprinkle in small bursts of happy: Happiness is made up of small day-to-day moments. Invite more happiness into your life by incorporating small bursts of happy throughout your day. Send an email expressing gratitude, engage in a meaningful conversation with a friend, take a few seconds to help someone in need, or reflect on a past positive experience. These simple actions can contribute to a fulfilling and joyful life. 3. Seek out playful activities: Playfulness not only boosts happiness levels but is also crucial for brain health. Research has shown that engaging in playful activities activates specific areas of the brain and promotes neurodevelopment. So, make time for sports, games, or any other playful activities that make you dance. Remember, playfulness knows no boundaries. 4. Make self-care non-negotiable: Dedicate daily time to focus on activities that are solely for your own well-being. A quick midday walk will enhance your physical health and increase focus for the rest of the day. Regular meditation will cultivate patience in your interactions with loved ones. Carving out moments for projects or hobbies will bring balance, a sense of accomplishment, and happiness. Consider committing to an activity that requires regular practice or lessons, such as painting, woodworking, or rock climbing. The key is to prioritize self-care and schedule these activities into your life. Are you ready to embrace the practices that will lead you to thrive consistently and live your optimal healthy life? Start implementing these tactics and witness the incredible transformation it brings. Your journey towards vitality and well-being awaits. "Be present. Be incredible. - 10853117 Lead Your Day the Impossible WayWhat is holding you back from where you want to go? Limitations are acceptable if they remain in their corner. But once they entrap your dreams, it's time to move on. Lead your day the impossible way. Do what you can do, and stop focusing on what you can't do. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co In life, we often find ourselves caught up in the limitations that surround us. We become consumed by what we cannot accomplish, by the roadblocks in our path, and by the challenges that seem insurmountable. But what if we were to shift our perspective? What if we were to lead our days in an extraordinary way? Imagine, for a moment, waking up each morning with a renewed sense of purpose, a spring in your step, and an unwavering determination to push the boundaries of what you thought was possible. Picture yourself embracing the mantra, "Lead your day the impossible way. Do what you can do, and stop focusing on what you can't do." When you focus solely on your limitations, you inadvertently limit yourself even further. You convince yourself that your dreams are unattainable and that you lack the resources or abilities to achieve greatness. However, it is in these moments of doubt that you must remember the power of your mindset, your heart, and the strength you possess deep within. Leading your day the impossible way means bolstering your belief in yourself. It means recognizing that while you may not have control over every situation, you have the power to decide how you respond to them. It is choosing to approach challenges as opportunities for growth and learning, rather than as roadblocks on your journey to greatness. The K.I.S.S. ~ Lead your day the impossible way! Consider the story of Amelia, a remarkable young woman who, despite facing physical limitations, decided to live her life relentlessly. Born with a congenital condition that restricted her range of motion, Amelia was bound to a wheelchair. However, she refused to be defined by her circumstances. Instead, she saw her limitations as a catalyst to ignite her inner strength. Amelia, with her unwavering determination, became an inspiration to those around her. She decided to pursue her passion for writing, penning articles that touched the hearts of millions. She empowered others to see beyond their limitations, embrace their unique abilities, and redefine what was possible. In leading our days the impossible way. Do what you can do, and stop focusing on what you can't. By leveraging your strengths and utilizing your resources wisely, you open yourself up to a world of opportunity. Discover hidden talents. Develop new skills. Realize that your limits were never as restrictive as you once believed. So embrace the challenge of leading your day the impossible way. Shatter the constraints that hold you back and embark on an adventurous journey. One that will be worth living every day. And remember, it is in your willingness to depart from the conventional, to step into the unknown, and to take risks that you truly begin to thrive. As you navigate the winding paths of life, you gotta remind yourself that every day holds the potential for greatness. Take that next step. "One step at a time leads to miles of greatness. Kristianne Wargo" Shift your focus from the limitations that surround you and instead focus on the boundless possibilities that lie within. With every step forward, with every courageous decision, you inch closer to your dreams, proving that to be a living legacy, you gotta lead your day the impossible. "Be present. Be incredible. - 10873115 His Plans and Timing are PerfectThe wisdom of our Lord brings us a comforting truth - His plans and timing are perfect. "The least of you will become a thousand, the smallest a mighty nation. - 10883114 Weather the Storm in Your MarriageJust like in nature, storms hit marriages unexpectedly, with gales of conflict, thunderous arguments, and torrential emotions. But fear not, for just as a lighthouse guides a ship through a violent storm, you can weather the storm in your marriage. Now there are different shapes and sizes of storms. You can have little squabbles that fade quickly, like a single gray cloud overhead. Or you can have torrential downpours that result in flash flooding everywhere. All of a sudden, you have rivers where there were once sidewalks. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co Part of the struggle is recognizing if you're even in a storm, and should you be concerned about it. In the early days of marriage, a couple may face the storm of adjusting to the realities of living together. Differences in habits, communication styles, and expectations may create tensions and lead to conflicts. You know, things just don't jive together like they used to. Dating was much easier because you were still trying to win the prize. But then, you have the pressure of society's expectations, financial difficulties, and parenting challenges, which can further intensify any storm. So the first thing is: Are you in a storm that you should be concerned about? There is no right or wrong answer. But I would say this. If you keep whispering under your breath about something your spouse is doing that you don't like or whatever it is continues to bother you, there's a storm brewin'. If you find that you all have a shouting match over a particular subject every time it comes up for conversation, there's a storm brewin'. Half the battle is knowing that a fronts coming. When you look at the weather map, if you see that a major storm is approaching, you can prepare accordingly. But if you allow it to surprise you, for whatever reason, then you have to deal with the onset of panic and lack of preparedness. Think of a tornado. You have to be focused, diligent, and present to know what is happening in your marriage. But I want to say this too. Every storm eventually passes. However, if you're not in the right state of mind, it can take you under. So if you want to gain strength through adversity, you have to learn how to weather the storm. The K.I.S.S. ~ Weather the storm! And when you weather the storm, you aren't doing it from behind You want to get in ahead of the storm. 1. Embrace Effective Expression Just as calmness follows a storm, open and honest communication can dissipate the intensity of conflicts. Remember the wisdom of Proverbs 15:1, "A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." It is crucial to listen attentively, empathize with one another's perspectives, and express thoughts and feelings in a respectful manner. Aim to address issues promptly, focusing on finding solutions rather than dwelling on the problem itself. AND...you have to know when to talk about it. What you are looking for is common ground to come together so you can work in a manner that supports each other. 2. Build a Foundation of Trust and Forgiveness Trust is the bedrock upon which all thriving marriages are built, and forgiveness serves as the healing balm to mend any cracks that may emerge. As Ephesians 4:32 reminds us, "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you." Prioritize the practice of forgiveness even during stormy times, allowing for growth, healing, and the restoration of trust. You've got to forge the walls to your marriage with trust and forgiveness. Let's say you've experienced infidelity in your marriage, which threatened to end your marriage in divorce. Obviously, trust is an issue. However, through seeking counseling and engaging in open conversations, you all decide to move forward as a couple, choosing to forgive and work towards rebuilding trust. Each day, you make conscious efforts to rebuild your relationship on a foundation of trust, transparency, and forgiveness. 3. Seek Professional Guidance and Support Just as sailors rely on navigational tools during a storm, seeking professional guidance can provide the necessary direction and strength to navigate marital challenges. Professional counselors, therapists, or trusted spiritual mentors can provide valuable insights, tools, and perspectives to help couples weather the storm and emerge stronger on the other side. Your marriage is not immune to the storms that life brings, but remember that with faith, resilience, and intentional actions, you can triumph over adversity. PRAYER: Psalm 107:29 proclaims, "He made the storm be still, and the waves of the sea were hushed." May the Lord bless your marriage. "Be present. Be incredible. Be YOU!!!" #RelationshipBuilders #CreateYourNow #LoveAndMarriage 🔔 Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? - 10893113 When Peace is Hard to FindOften in the world of parenting, when peace is hard to find, we are faced with a whirlwind of challenges that test our patience and push us to our limits. However, there are ways to find rest and calm for our weary hearts. Parenting is undoubtedly one of life's greatest joys, but it can also be overwhelming, exhausting, and at times, downright chaotic. Amidst the constant noise, mess, and struggles, finding peace can feel like an impossible dream. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co I can remember cleaning the house many times, only to find more frustration, not at the cleaning part, but stepping on all the legos. Being a parent is not fair. It's downright abuse at times. We are asked to do the unthinkable by kids who take us for granted and lack respect for our hard work. They expect us to feed them every day and provide a roof over their heads. Now you know I'm stretching this a little bit. But if you don't find the humor in the chaos, the stress will bury you quicker. If you want to find that peace, you have to create your sanctuary. The K.I.S.S. ~ Create your sanctuary! 1. Embrace Imperfection As parents, we often put immense pressure on ourselves to be perfect, to have all the answers, and to create an idyllic environment for our children. But the reality is, perfection is an unattainable goal. Instead, let us learn to embrace imperfection and be gentle with ourselves. Allow yourself to make mistakes and acknowledge that it's okay not to have all the answers. Remember, your love and presence are what truly matters to your children. 2. Practice Self-Care Amidst the never-ending tasks of parenting, we often neglect our own well-being. It's important to remember that taking care of yourself is not selfish but rather essential for your ability to be the best parent you can be. Carve out time for self-care, whether it's taking a long bath, reading a book, or simply going for a walk. When you prioritize self-care, you are refueling your soul and replenishing the energy needed to face the challenges of parenting. 3. Seek Support and Rest in Faith Parenting is not meant to be done alone. Reach out to your support system, whether it's trusted friends, family members, or parenting groups within your community. Share your struggles, seek advice, and allow yourself to lean on others. Additionally, find solace in your faith. Turn to scriptures, such as Matthew 11:28, which says, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Connect with your spiritual beliefs, seeking peace and solace that goes beyond human understanding. Parenting is an incredible journey that comes with its fair share of challenges. Remember that it is in the midst of chaos and noise that we can find moments of tranquility. Rest assured that even in the mayhem, you are doing your best, and your love for your children will guide you along the way. "Be present. Be incredible. - 10903112 Look Fear in the Face"You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do." ~ Eleanor Roosevelt In this spirit, you can embrace your struggles as opportunities for growth, recognizing that it is in these moments of uncertainty that you are truly tested. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co But you have to remember, perspective is everything. Instead of viewing roadblocks as obstacles, you get to choose to see them as stepping stones on your journey. They redirect you to new paths, revealing opportunities that you may have otherwise missed. By shifting your mindset, you can transform frustration into motivation, and setbacks into stepping stones toward success. However, when challenges arise, it's easy to get caught up in the problem itself, forgetting that every problem has a solution waiting to be discovered. Rather than dwelling on what went wrong, redirect your focus toward finding creative ways to overcome obstacles. As you adopt a solution-oriented mindset, you empower yourself to break through barriers and forge new paths ahead. The K.I.S.S. ~ Look fear in the face! But as you know, it's tough to do life on your own. Therefore, seeking support from others is not a sign of weakness, but a strength. It's okay to have people who surround you with wise counsel and will cheer you on when only the crickets are heard. When faced with roadblocks, it's the perfect time to lean on mentors, friends, and family who believe in you. Sharing your struggles allows you to gain perspective, insight, and valuable advice. Together, you can conquer the most daunting challenges, knowing that you have a network of support cheering you on. Have no fear; your support is near! You got this! So keep at it by navigating through difficult times. Your resilience muscle is stronger than you think. Believe in your ability to bounce back, learn from experiences, and adapt to new circumstances. This can make all the difference. You must grab ahold of what sustains you in a positive way. Drown out the naysayers, and awaken the dream even deeper. But the setbacks you endure today are merely paving the way for your future greatness. "One step at a time leads to miles of greatness." ~ Kristianne Wargo And let's not forget the importance of celebrating small steps; those small victories that count toward extraordinary opportunities. Every step forward, regardless of how seemingly insignificant, is a cause for celebration. So acknowledge and appreciate the progress you make. That is what will keep your motor runnin'. It'll fuel your motivation and keep moving forward. Even though life is unpredictable and adventurous, you get to show up with a heart ready to pounce and a mind ready to explore. - 10913111 A Little Goes A Long WayEmbarking on a healthy living journey doesn't have to be overwhelming. Oftentimes, people feel the pressure of having to make radical changes all at once. Stop and smell the roses. A little goes a long way. Because when you think about it, who wants to increase stress and become more discouraged? Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co Where do you feel like you've skipped out on yourself? I don't know about you, but it's oh-so-easy to do everything for everyone else, yet not give a second thought about yourself. Don't throw away the greatest gift given to your family. YOU!!! By taking small steps toward a healthier lifestyle, you get to make a significant difference for yourself in the long run. So get ready to do....well, just a little. The K.I.S.S. ~ Do just a little! Now doing a little doesn't mean that you aren't doing anything at all. It also doesn't mean you get to be lazy. You are being very strategic with how you work your habits to support your everyday mission of living healthy. 1. Find joy in movement: Exercise is a crucial component of a healthy lifestyle, but it doesn't have to mean spending hours at the gym or running a marathon. Start by incorporating enjoyable physical activities into your daily routine. Take a leisurely walk in nature or dance to your favorite uplifting music. These activities can help boost your mood, improve your cardiovascular health, and increase overall fitness levels. Think outside the box. Don't do something that is normal for you. Take up a new activity that's fun and challenging in all the positive ways. Pickleball might be a good option. Swimming instead of running. Biblical Resource: Proverbs 3:8-9 reminds us that through honoring God with our bodies, we will find health and vitality: "This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones." 2. Nourish your body with wholesome foods: Nutrition plays a vital role in maintaining optimal health. Rather than completely overhauling your diet overnight, begin by making small dietary changes. Incorporate more fruits and vegetables into your meals, swap sugary drinks for water, or pack nourishing snacks like nuts and seeds. These small changes can gradually improve your overall diet and provide your body with essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Biblical Resource: In 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, we are encouraged to treat our bodies as temples of the Holy Spirit: "Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your bodies." 3. Prioritize quality sleep: In our fast-paced world, getting enough sleep often takes a backseat. However, good-quality sleep is crucial for overall health and well-being. Establish a consistent sleep routine, create a calming environment in your bedroom, and try relaxation techniques such as meditation or reading before bed. These small changes can help improve sleep quality, boost energy levels, and enhance cognitive function. Biblical Resource: Psalm 4:8 assures us that a peaceful sleep is a gift from God: "In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety." Let me share this with you. When you are making any changes to your routine, conduct it in a manner that you will succeed. In other words, don't set yourself up for failure. Remember, healthy living is a lifelong journey, and it's okay to start small. So, take that first step today towards a healthier, happier you, and let the process unfold gradually, knowing that a little goes a long way. "Be present. Be incredible. - 10953107 Love Conquers ShameIn marriage, shame cannot be used to force a change in your spouse. Yet, many people will do just that in an attempt to control who they want their spouse to be. Don't play with fire. Love conquers shame. In the sacred bond of marriage, the path to growth and transformation starts with a choice rooted in love, understanding, and compassion. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co While it may be tempting to use shame as a tool to bring about change in a spouse, it has been proven time and again that this approach is ineffective and destructive. One cannot shame someone into transformation; instead, change springs forth from a willing heart. If you find yourself trapped in this debilitating pattern of shame within your marriage, it's time to take steps toward healing and restoration. The K.I.S.S. ~ Love conquers shame! Let's explore three essential actions you can take to break free from shame and foster an environment of love, acceptance, and growth. 1. Embrace the Power of Vulnerability Shame often thrives in the shadows and secrecy, suffocating the authenticity and openness within a marriage. To dismantle this destructive force, spouses must bravely step into vulnerability. By cultivating an atmosphere of trust and safety, couples can: - Share their Feelings: Openly express your emotions, fears, and insecurities without fear of judgment. Encourage your partner to do the same, establishing a space where both can be seen, heard, and valued. - Practice Active Empathy: Seek to understand your partner's perspective and empathize with their struggles. Genuine empathy allows for compassionate connection, paving the way for healing and change. - Seek Professional Help: Consider seeking guidance from a qualified marriage counselor or therapist. These professionals can provide a safe space where both partners can explore the root causes of shame and develop healthy coping strategies to address them. Bible Verse: "Therefore encourage one another and build each other up." - 1 Thessalonians 5:11 2. Foster a Culture of Encouragement and Grace Shame can be debilitating, leaving wounds that hinder growth and perpetuate cycles of negativity. To break free from this destructive pattern, spouses must cultivate an environment of encouragement, grace, and acceptance. This includes: - Celebrating Successes: Instead of fixating on failures or shortcomings, prioritize celebrating achievements, no matter how small. By shifting the focus to accomplishments, you can nurture a culture of affirmation and build each other up. - Extending Forgiveness: Embrace the transformative power of forgiveness within your marriage. Practice letting go of past mistakes and offer genuine forgiveness, freeing both individuals from the burdens of shame and guilt. Bible Verse: "Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you." - Colossians 3:13 3. Cultivate Communication and Empathy Effective communication forms the bedrock of any healthy marriage. Break the chains of shame by fostering open, honest, and empathetic dialogue. Here are key steps to guide you: - Active Listening: Truly listen to your spouse without interrupting, judgment, or defensiveness. Seek to understand their perspective and validate their feelings. - Choose Your Words Wisely: Speak with kindness, respect, and thoughtfulness, even when addressing difficult topics. Avoid using shaming language or belittling remarks that can erode trust and connection. - Practice Healthy Conflict Resolution: Instead of resorting to blame and shame during conflicts, strive for mutual understanding, compassion, and compromise. Focus on finding solutions that benefit both partners and strengthen the marriage. Bible Verse: "A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." - Proverbs 15:1 You can create an environment that nourishes love, growth, and transformation within your marriage. As you continue on this journey, remember that by choosing love, you sow the seeds for a marriage grounded in acceptance, understanding, and mutual growth. "Be present. Be incredible. - 10963106 Do Not Take It PersonallyPrecious moments and unforgettable memories make parenting pleasurable. But realistically, more times of backtalk and expletives are thrown your direction. Don't take it personally. Parenting is an incredibly rewarding journey, but it's also a lot of craziness and chaos; times that we don't always want to remember. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co And the thing is, when you're trying to do what's best for your kiddos, they don't always like your response. They want it their way no matter what the consequences. Now hopefully, they learn fast that if you work within the rules, life is a lot more exciting with less yelling. Because who really needs all that stress? But it's in these moments that your child grows, and so do you. And ultimately, that's what we want for our children. Therefore, when all else fails, don't take it personally. The K.I.S.S. ~ Don't take it personally! 1. Cultivate Empathy and Understanding When your children resist your guidance, it's crucial to remember that their independence and desire to do what they want and express themselves are natural aspects of their development. Rather than taking their actions personally, you get to choose to approach these moments with empathy and understanding. Put yourself in their shoes. This way, you can better understand their perspective and respond with patience and compassion. Yelling, getting frustrated does not work. And as they get older, they'll just throw it back in your face. Create a safe environment for your children to express themselves while still providing guidance and setting appropriate boundaries. 2. Find Support Networks Parenting can feel so empty, often like a solitary journey, but it doesn't have to be. Seek out support networks of other parents who can empathize with your experiences and offer valuable advice. Join parenting communities, attend workshops, or join online forums or groups that can help alleviate the feeling of loneliness and provide invaluable insights into effective parenting strategies. When you engage with others who share similar difficulties, it reminds you that we're not alone, giving you the reassurance and strength you need to stay focused on raising your children well. 3. Focus on the Bigger Picture In the midst of challenging parenting moments, it can be helpful to remind ourselves of our ultimate aspiration as parents—to raise children who have the power to impact the world around them positively. By keeping this bigger picture in mind, you get to transform moments of hurt into opportunities for growth and learning. Recognize that redirecting, teaching, and guiding our children are essential components of their personal development. Instilling valuable life skills and nurturing their character is going to enable them to navigate the world confidently. Embracing this broader perspective empowers you to transcend momentary difficulties and continue leading our children with love and purpose. Parenting is a beautiful, yet complex journey that comes with both joy and challenges. Remember, when our children resist our guidance, it's not a reflection of our worth as parents. Don't take it personally! Embrace each moment as an opportunity for growth, and marvel at the incredible potential held within your child. "Be present. Be incredible. - 10973105 Embrace the Closed DoorsNo one appreciates when something doesn't work out. But it's in these very moments of disappointment that the opportunity arises. Embrace the closed doors. Life has a funny way of throwing curveballs our way, leaving us stuck and questioning our purpose. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co We've all experienced moments when doors seem to slam shut, dreams slip through our fingers, and we are left feeling disheartened and defeated. But through all of this, you can find your inner strength and unlock a path that aligns with your true calling. Instead of dwelling on missed opportunities, shift your perspective and view closed doors as divine detours. Trust in the belief that every closed door is leading you closer to where you are meant to be. Just like a seed planted deep in the soil, we may not see the growth at first, but it is happening beneath the surface, preparing us for the breakthrough that awaits. "Sometimes when you're in a dark place, you think you've been buried, but you've actually been planted." - Christine Caine The K.I.S.S. ~ Embrace the closed doors! Rejection can feel like a heavy burden to carry, but instead of allowing it to define you, you must use it as fuel for personal growth and development. Remember, even the greatest minds and visionaries faced countless rejections before achieving their success. It is through rejection that we learn resilience, perseverance, and the true measure of our character. Just as a caterpillar embraces the transformative process in its cocoon, it is essential to embrace your own journey. Allow the closed doors and setbacks to shape you into a stronger version of yourself. Understand that the path to greatness is rarely linear and that true growth often happens during times of struggle and uncertainty. Rather than dwelling on the closed doors, focus on unlocking your true potential. Embrace your unique talents and strengths and identify opportunities that align with your passions. Let go of societal expectations and pursue the path that ignites your passion. Remember, the doors that close on you are not the end, but rather the beginning of a new chapter in your journey. Embrace the closed doors and unlock your true potential. Trust in the process, have faith in God, and believe that something far greater awaits you. The world needs your unique gifts and talents, so go forth fearlessly, knowing that every closed door is actually an open door disguised to guide you closer to your calling. "Be present. - 10983104 Reboot Your CoreIt is undeniable that your core is not just a passive element within your body; it is the intricate system that supports and harmonizes your movements. If you want a balanced body, you must reboot your core. From the moment we come into this world, our "intrinsic core" is already hard at work. It is the foundational hardware that is ingrained within each and every one of us, as we prepare ourselves to navigate the world. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co This remarkable core hardware enables us to develop and master crucial motor skills such as crawling, rolling over, standing, walking, and eventually running. It seamlessly integrates into every movement we make without us even being aware of its significance. The term "intrinsic core" refers to the deep muscles and structures located within the torso that play a crucial role in maintaining posture, stability, and movement. It includes muscles like the transverse abdominis, multifidus, diaphragm, and pelvic floor muscles, as well as the spinal column, deep back muscles, and connective tissues. These internal core muscles work in synergy to provide support, control, and balance to the entire body, acting as a foundation for our movements. The "intrinsic core" is often contrasted with the more superficial muscles of the abdomen, commonly referred to as the "six-pack" muscles or rectus abdominis. However, as we transition into the modern world, our levels of activity tend to diminish. The sedentary lifestyle that has become so prevalent in our society disrupts the natural flow of our original "core patterns". We unknowingly fall into disjointed movement patterns, resulting in what we commonly recognize as "poor posture". With an insufficient amount of exercise, excessive sitting, and minimal lifting, pushing, and pulling, we unwittingly set ourselves up for a lifetime of unnecessary discomfort and pain. Fortunately, there is a powerful solution that can help us reclaim the balance we once had. Reboot the core! The K.I.S.S. ~ Reboot your core! By "rebooting the core" through a series of simple exercises, we have the opportunity to restore our core hardware to its optimal state. These exercises act as the catalyst for realigning our body's fundamental foundation. By engaging in these exercises daily for a mere two weeks, while maintaining a deep focus on the process through mindful awareness of the sensations we experience, we can initiate the transformation. Once we have gained proficiency in these three exercises, they can seamlessly be integrated into our warm-up routine prior to embarking on our regular exercise regimen. This new approach effectively turns every exercise into a "core exercise," as we are establishing a strong and stable core foundation that supports and enhances all other movements. Research proves the significant role of the core in maintaining a balanced body. According to a study conducted by the Journal of Physical Therapy Science, a strong core significantly reduces the risk of developing chronic lower back pain and improves overall spinal stability. Additionally, a paper published in the European Spine Journal suggests that a well-developed core enables better control of movements, leading to improved posture and reduced risk of musculoskeletal injuries. Pelvic Tilt Tighten the muscles of pelvic floor and gently press the lower back to the floor. Do 3 rounds of 10 reps Dead Bug Tighten your pelvic floor and press your lower back to the floor. Under control and without letting your lower back leave the floor, slowly extend the opposite arm and leg. Do 3 rounds of 5 to 8 reps Glute Bridge Tighten the pelvic floor. Press down through your heels and flex your glutes "up and in", driving your hips upward. Hold at the top for 2 seconds with glutes flexed. Do 3 rounds of 10 reps Let's take the first step together and embark on this transformative journey to a stronger, more balanced self. "Train for life. - 11003102 The Power of Doing"Our greatest fear should not be of failure but of succeeding at things in life that don't really matter (Francis Chan)." So what would happen if you embrace the power of doing? Just do it! It's been Nike's slogan for as long as I can remember. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co But because of mind games and tricks that we play on ourselves, it's easy to get in the way of the direction we need to go. Your calling doesn't happen unless you do it. Your purpose here on earth will fall apart unless you do it. Your passion will fade into the night unless you ignite it. You have got to stay in the game of life and do what you were called to do. Just do it. Yet as easy as that rolls off our tongues, following through can be the greatest hurdle. You see all the possibilities of what might not happen. Then you wrestle with all the possibilities of what could happen. The fluctuation between this, that, and the other, only holds you prisoner to what you won't do. You must get off the baseline and begin the truck to the top of the mountain. Yes, you will run into a few valleys along the way. You might even face a few unexpected detours and visitors you have to deal with. But until you are ready to embrace the power of doing, the only results you'll achieve will be mediocre. For a season, those results might be okay. However, is that what you really want for the rest of your life? Is that where you want to land with your passion? God has equipped you to do great things. But greatness comes with a charge, and that charge is in the power of doing. Just do it! The K.I.S.S. ~ Just do it! Let me ask you. What have you been contemplating lately? What have you been mulling over in your mind that won't fade away? What dreams do you still have within you that you know deep down is still possible, even in the season that you are in? Life is not about what others make of it for you. Yes, you have to seize the opportunity. But you also need to create your now. You need to get in the driver's seat and take this journey of the unknown by storm. With each twist and turn, roundabout, and detour, you can rise above your fears and experience success where it does matter. Just do it! Do it with no compromise. You can be your worst enemy when it comes to moving forward. You can come up with every excuse under the sun to not do something. Your limitations on yourself might be the only thing standing in your way. So instead of fighting what you think might happen, just take the next step. "One step at a time leads to miles of greatness!" ~ Krisitanne Wargo Do it with conviction. If you come at life with a mediocre attitude, the results will be just that...so-so. You deserve your best. So don't sit back and wonder if you can or if you can't. Don't play the mind games of the should have, would have, could haves of the past. Commit to where you are and where you are headed; that next step. You don't have to look too far to do what you need to do now. Do it with confidence. As much as you can be your worst enemy, on the flip side, you must be your biggest cheerleader. If you are always second-guessing what you need to be doing, you will loiter in limbo land. You will continue to strengthen that which you don't desire. Playing full-out in the game of life with confidence gives you the opportunity to make adjustments, to see what's possible, and to engage your passion to perform at your best. You can choose to hang out with what isn't working, or accomplishing things that don't matter so you don't have to face your fears. Meanwhile, your dreams will continue to dwindle, leaving not much room for you to fulfill your calling. Life is a gift, and breath is a blessing. Don't let your fears suffocate you. You are created for more, so create your now. "Be present. Be incredible. - 11023100 Make Your "Yes" Be Yes!Loving someone takes extraordinary effort to build a marriage to what you think you desire. But first, it comes with a decision and a commitment. Make your "yes" be YES! In a world where relationships and commitments are often treated lightly, making a strong and lasting commitment to marriage is truly admirable. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co Marriage is a beautiful union that requires dedication and effort from both partners. While marriage may not always resemble the perfect love stories we see in Hallmark movies, by following certain principles and committing to a few key things, we can create a strong foundation for our marriage. 4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. ~ (1 Corinthians 13:4-7 NIV) At some point, you have to establish what marriage means to you. You have got to define what you want your marriage to be, and then commit to it. Because if you don't commit, you will always be floundering. You can turn your back one day and quit the marriage. The K.I.S.S. ~ Make your "yes" be YES! When you make a definitive commitment, a decision to last for a lifetime, then you open the door for God to work in your marriage. Maintain peace by having a humble attitude. You don't know it all, and you can't have a marriage with just you. It takes two. So, be humble. Stop acting like a jerk for no reason. Look for the good, not the bad. It's easy to point out someone else's junk before you see the good. The junk is always there. It's like asking your children to pick up their toys and clothes in their room. It just stays there and does not move. Be willing to do things God's way, no matter how hard it is. You don't know it all, and if you did, you wouldn't be where you are today. So let God in. Make your "Yes" be YES! "Be present. Be incredible. - 11033099 You Are More Than You've Been ToldNever does any parent want their child to feel unworthy. But in a world that knocks your kid down more than builds them up, we have to stand up and remind them– you are more than you've been told. It's unfortunate that we even have to have this conversation. And I must say, first and foremost, this is not a social media bashing session. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co Yes, it plays a huge role in our children's lives. However, there are still a lot of other factors that impact your child's self-esteem. I can remember, way back when, the word "self-esteem" was popular. And now, it's all but crickets. Do we really care about our kiddos? Now, this is an honest question that I want you to process. Because I think we have become so immune to our children's needs for the mere fact that our own aspirations and desires overcome our need to parent first. There was a story I read where a physician was killed in his exam room by a patient. And this patient is about upper 20s or so, with no prior criminal history. Now this is what I know at the time of reading the article. It is a tragic situation. I've been praying for the family. It's disturbing. And then I look at the other side, and wonder– Are we doing what our kiddos need from us? This young man could be my child, age-wise. So I want you to be honest with yourself. No one is going to look over your shoulder or grade you directly. You are grading yourself. With all of the technology and all we can do around the globe with just movements of our fingers, the distraction is HUGE!!! It's like outer space HUGE!!! And I wonder if when I had younger kids, could I have been so distracted by my dreams that I didn't give my own children the attention they deserve as their parent. What do you think? Are you giving your time, attention, and energy to the degree that is required to raise incredible kids? The reason why I ask this is because we have so many children growing up not knowing how to respect others, how to control emotions, how to act with restraint; really understanding the way we relate as human beings, not barbaric creatures. There's no blame game here. This is a safe place to really think about whether or not you are giving your children what they need. Because if they don't get it from home, and they are struggling in school with others and their friends, we have a problem. Now, this is where I believe social media comes in. Teachers and school administrators can't do everything. When are we going to start working as a team, and what part of that team are you playing on? If this is going to happen, we have to step up as a family. The K.I.S.S. ~ Step up as a family! These are things I want you to consider with your children when something is off, not normal for your child. 1. Signs of Abrupt Change -- Have you noticed any differences in their attitude, how they're dressing, the words they use, or their facial expressions. Anything that's unusual for their typical behavior. 2. Physical Touch Extremes -- Maybe your child was a hugger, and now they are not hugging at all; more distance. Or maybe they're too touchy. 3. The Hangout Buddies -- Who are your kiddos hanging out with? The same friends, or new ones. Or they more isolated? All of these are indications that something is not good. Attention is needed, bring on the Mama PI. You gotta strike while the iron's hot. Support with unconditional love. "Love vs. Yell" -- One of the most crucial aspects of supporting your child's self-worth is creating a foundation of unconditional love. Make sure your child knows that your love for them is unwavering, regardless of their achievements or mistakes. This unconditional love provides them with a sense of security, allowing them to feel confident and capable. Teach resilience. -- Resilience is a valuable skill that supports your child's emotional well-being and resilience. By teaching them how to handle challenges and setbacks, you equip them with the tools to bounce back confidently. Instill a sense of purpose. -- Another way to support your child's self-worth is by helping them find and pursue their passions and purpose in life. Help them live their lives boldly. As a parent, we take this silent, sacred oath that we will care for our children and their needs, and that includes their self-esteem. And I must add -- If at any point you feel overwhelmed as to how your child is acting and appearing to you, seek professional help! We need to raise the level of our involvement as parents. That's our job; that's our responsibility. "Be present. Be incredible. Be YOU!!!" #ConfessionsOfAnUpsetMama #CreateYourNow #TodaysParent 🔔 Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women?
