Today’s prayer
Written prayerFather, It is my desire to have a timely word of wisdom for all those I encounter today. So many people are in distress and confusion. They don’t know who to trust or who to believe. Your word is truth and your wisdom is the knowledge we need to navigate through these troubled times. David felt the tremendous responsibility of leading your people and knew he couldn’t do it in his own limited abilities. He didn’t ask you for wealth or riches to honor himself. He asked for your wisdom and knowledge so he could govern your people with justice. His desire was to give honor to your name and lead your people in accordance with your word. His desire was to please you and help your people understand the glory of the great God they serve. All his actions and decisions were for the good of your people and the honor of your name. Help me realize the humility of leadership that doesn’t exalt self but seeks to serve as Jesus did. Leadership is true servanthood and not prideful arrogance. Let me not seek to boast in my position if you raise me up to leadership. Help me be content wherever you call me to serve and not seek to promote myself. Purify my heart with your wisdom so I can be a faithful servant who blesses others with your wisdom. In Jesus name, amen.
