Morning Prayer on James 4:6

God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.

James 4:6 · KJV

Today’s prayer

Written prayer

Dear Lord, Thank You for staying near, even when pride clouds my vision and ego rises uninvited. You come not to flatter, but to free—to heal the parts of me that quietly sabotage my soul. I confess how easily I crave recognition and fight to be right, and how that leaves me hollow and distant. I don’t want that life. Teach me the freedom of the lower place—to listen more than I speak, to serve when no one notices, to be formed in secret by Your grace. Let me find strength not in being exalted, but in being emptied before You. You are high above, yet You stoop low to lift the humble. Your greatness wears gentleness, and Your power is perfected in surrender. I bow before You—not to be less, but to become whole. Amen.
