Morning Prayer on 2 Corinthians 4:8-9

We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;

2 Corinthians 4:8-9 · KJV

The prayer

Written prayer

Father, you never said following you would be easy. All I have to do is look at the price your son had to pay for doing good and speaking your truth. When I read your word I see that the disciples faced trouble on every side. They were often distressed and perplexed but they never despaired. They didn’t let the circumstances shift their focus off of you Lord. They were persecuted, even as you were, but they knew you would never forsake them. They may have been depressed at times as they fought through the many attacks against them but they were never destroyed. The enemy of our soul is out to kill, rob, steal and destroy but that which the enemy means for evil you my Lord, will turn for my good and your glory. Satan was defeated at the cross but still tries to intimidate us with his lies. Greater is he that is in me, than he that is in the world. I have the Holy Spirit living inside me and I will rise above whatever circumstance I am facing. My God rules and reigns over all things and I will declare his victory over my life with the authority granted me as a child of God. Your mercies are new every morning and I will see those mercies flow on my behalf. In Jesus name, amen.
