Morning Prayer on Colossians 1:13-14

Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

Colossians 1:13-14 · KJV

Today’s prayer

Written prayer

Thank you Father, for delivering me out of the kingdom of darkness. You purchased me out of the hands of the enemy. Through the innocent blood of your sacrificial lamb, my lord and savior Jesus Christ, I have been legally transferred into his kingdom. The transaction price was one life for another. It was Christ’s life in exchange for mine. Satan no longer has any legal claim on me. Through your son’s shed blood I have been redeemed and all my sins are forgiven. Glory! Selah, think, mediate, and dwell on that reality for a minute! Amazing! The kingdom of heaven is governed by the laws of justice and mercy. I have little understanding of the magnitude of those kingdom principles, but I am grateful I can run to you my dearest father for protection and comfort. Thank you that my savior, Jesus, loved me so much he laid down his life to purchase me back from the grave to live forever with him in his father’s house in heaven. Because of his death and resurrection I can now call you my father too. Thank you for writing my name in the lamb’s book of life as a citizen of heaven and not of this earth. In Jesus name, amen.
