Today’s prayer
Written prayerLord, shine your light on the good works you are doing so they will glorify your name. It is my honor to serve you but anything of eternal consequence is only produced through your spirit. I cannot work the works of God in my own efforts. When people praise me for something I’ve done, don’t let my flesh revel in your glory. Keep me humble and always point them back to you as the one who sent me. Keep me dependent on you. Help me always recognize it is your light shining through me that accomplishes anything good. I want others to see your compassion and realize how every present you are in times of trouble. Amen.
