Global Prayer on Philippians 2:3

Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

Today’s prayer

Written prayer

Dear Lord, It amazes me how so many of your children are envious of those who have platform ministries like, preaching, teaching, leading worship, ect. It seems they are no different than those in the world looking to increase their personal influence or exalt their own personal glory. Throughout your word I see those who you lifted up into leadership positions were those who were content as they were. They didn’t seek ambitious self-assertion for a higher place of honour. David is a great example of this. He was content communing with the Lord as he tended his sheep. You saw his heart and knew how much he loved you and that he was trustworthy. True leadership is about servanthood. Those who seek to serve the body of Christ no matter how small the effort is are doing all for the glory of God. They are helping others become a success in your kingdom. This pleases you. You are the one who lifts up those who are humble. Teach me to walk in humility and consider others more important than myself. Don’t let me ever do anything out of selfish ambition or empty pride. Keep me mindful that you see everything I do and let me always do all for your honor. Let me be content in all things and trust that you will lift me up when I am ready. Don’t let me strive for attention in my own effort. In Jesus name, amen.
